Quite loud acoustically, basses and mids are especially full and warm sounding, high trebles fall short, especially up the neck, when compared to an all solid wood classical but that's not what this one is about. Solid cedar top really sings through first position. Pickup system is very good, capturing the vibe of a classical without any piezo quack - takamine preamps get it right. Best sound for the price (with a pickup) by far.

Been playing 35 years, electrics, steel string, and fingerstyle pseudo-classical which suits this instrument well in a band setting. This one is a safe bet if you;re looking for a professionally playable albeit plain-jane model you can take to a gig without fear of damage. Not perfect, but a good deal for just a player.
