This is an early 80's Masterpiece. Made in Japan. It is a jumbo body Maple neck and flame maple body on three sides. (Not sure what the top is). The EF380M Has a built in piezeo, and two slide controls, one for volume and one for tone. I bought this guitar used in 1986 and to this day I don't understand why the owner sold it. I give it an Eight only because the electronic controls today are better and the battery is hard to get out when dead (mounted in the sound hole under the strings).

This is a great guitar suits my style real well. It has a beautiful tone and can be quite booming if desired.
When plugged in it sounds very good and has a very good tonal range. It was the only acoustic I would use on stage.

Action is great and it was very well made as it is still almost like brand new after 20 years. Excellent quality.
Reliability/Durability

Withstand live playing ...It does and did. hardware and tuning pegs are still in good condition, and it still stays in tune. I have used this witout backup.

I have been looking for another for 20 years and have only seen 1. 18 years ago. I sure would like to hear from anyone who has one of these exceptional guitars. This is as good (if not better) a guitar as as any Gibson, or Martin I have played and I have played many in my 26 years of guitar playing.
