Grand auditorium cutaway body style, all solid woods, cedar top, rosewood back & sides, rosewood binding, gloss finish, gold "Taylor" tuners. I'll give it a 10 because it's everything I wanted in a Taylor. Or any guitar. Was custom ordered without any electronics, and I like it that way.
Sound

The sound is pure Taylor which seems to be a subjective thing these days. The Taylor vs. Martin syndrome. I love the warm sound of the cedar/rosewood combination and no electronics, cut in, internal or otherwise to get in the way. No a boomy bass or trilly highs. Just a well balanced sound for smooth picking or fingerstyle. Probably better suited for fingerstyle.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Guitar was set up at the retailer after having been custom ordered and it was perfect. Clean built inside and out and bookmatching was beautiful. Taylor is known for their nice action if nothing else.

Seems to be well built and I only play at home or in friends homes so it won't bet abused by the road.

Taylor has the best support of any manufacturers I've ever dealt with. I lost the truss rod wrench, called Taylor, and had one in the mail in two days. No questions asked and free of charge. They have also sent me two gold end pins for guitars that had the pickups removed but left the end jacks. Again....no charge. They are the best. There service goes to 11.

Been playing for 40 years. Have owned or still own A Martin D-28 and D-35, three Tacomas, my fave being the PKK40, a Fender ESM-10 (another story in itself)a couple of Alvarez M series, blah blah blah. Lots of guitars. No one is my all time favorite and this Taylor isn't any different. I love 'em all. But, I do really like this 714.
