Mahogany back and sides, cedar top. Ebony fingerboard with pearl inlay ( 1995 ). Gloss finish, gold tuners. Deluxe brown Taylor case.
GA is grand auditorium. No electrics but I added a Vanden acoustic pickup.
Sound

Firm, clear trebles, less bass than the dreadnoughts but all the better for it if you play intricate fingerstyle styles. Perfect intonation all over the range with superb sustain.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action to high in the shop but mostly sorted on the spot by the shop owner. No flaws anywhere.
Reliability/Durability

Like all "precious" acoustic guitars it would not stand up to rough treatment but in normal careful use should last a lifetime or 3.I have another ( cheaper ) Taylor which I use for most gigs.

48 years playing, 36 as a teacher/performer. If I lost this one I wouldn`t be able to get another so I guess I would check out current Santa Cruz, Taylor, etc to see if any were similar.I originaly found it hard to choose between this one and a Manson model, but the clincher was the GA size. Also looked at ALL the other top makes ( Lowden, Martin, Fylde, etc )for months before finding this one.
