I think this must be a custom. It is a 2006 model GS with the expression system - may have been an option. The woods are just beautiful. A spruce top with mapel back and sides. The back is a 3 piece construction. Flawless all-gloss finish.
Gold hardware.
Bound neck.

I mostly play fingerstyle and have previously owned a 314CE. The GS sounds great as a fingerstyle instrument but it also loves to be strummed.
I have compared it to my 314 and it does have the Taylor sound but just feels a little fuller. The bass is lovely, it has been described as piano like and i have to agree - not overwhelming though.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The workmanship is faultless. The robots at Taylor are churning out accurate parts that are then hand finished to perfection. The woods are just great. The mapel back is a joy to behold.
The action is a little higher than i prefer so i will shave a little off the saddle.
Reliability/Durability

I wouldn't take this guitar out of the house! I am sure it will be durable but it is such a beauty i would hate to crash it into a mic stand or something.

Not needed it so far. I did contact Taylor UK about a new pickgaurd for my 314 and they were very helpful.

I loved my 314 and was keen to upgrade to another 'prettier' Taylor. I got a great price on Ebay and am over the moon. If it were stolen i would use the insurance money to buy another.
I can see this guitar staying with me for some time.
