Pretty cool dred. Spruce top, not sure what sides and back are, don't know my grains as well as the old man , Does have a brass nut and pins, silver tuners, black trim, rossette trim around hole and guild style headstock

Sound : 10
what can I say, sounds awesome! played many acoustics over 30 years in stores, could never afford a high end model. My sister gave me this Ventura she bought new. I had never heard of them. After looking at in garage for for a few years I started playing it. After learning "Tears from Heaven" from Clapton and the "Rain Song" from Zeppelin, I started writing again.
Thanx Ventura.

Guitar is great. mine has a serial number of 00265 which tells me its maybe a rare one- lucky me. Recently recorded with it and blew the engineer away. Since i also borrowed a (not to mention brand name) $4000+ guitar and opted to go with the Ventura. My opinion is: seems alot of people are caught up with brand names when they should open their ears.
you want to hear me tear it up on a cheap bass too check out myspace

Made in Japan Dreadnaught. Solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides. Mine doesn't have the tuneamatic bridge which is a plus as those are a hassle. Full binding around the body carries up the neck into the headstock. Very nice make.

This is a very nice sounding guitar. I own or have owned all but two of the Ventura acoustics (there were over 20 in their line over the years). This guitar ranks right up with the best. Has a bright tone with excellent bass response also. Well balanced, perfect intonation. I am giving it a nine because I have only played a couple of tens and they were luthier guitars. This sounds almost as good as an older Martin. Sounds better than new ones. A real value.

Very well made...has stood the test of time.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Yes this a solid guitar. I wouldn't worry about it at a gig or campfire. Seems really stable.

Out of business. Name is being used by another company importing Chinese guitars, not the same at all.

I've been playing over 40 years. This is a fantastic guitar for bluegrass, folk, and folk rock. It is one of the three Venturas that I would miss if it were stolen or lost. I would try to replace it but you don't see many of these even on ebay (I've never seen one). This is one of the best values you will find. You would have to pay at least 7-800 dollars for one it's equal, and I don't know what that would be.
