Solid spruce top, mohogany ply sides and back. Very nice tuners. Although the nut and saddle appear to be a very hard, resin plastic, it did feel and sound like ceramic. Beautiful thick gloss finish. Binding around the body and neck! A very well made guitar for both beginners and experience guitarists.

Very bright volume, smooth midrange and bright highs. Bass was well defined. Sustain was above average, but then again, that all depends on the type /thickness of strings you will use.
As I wrote earlier, I was impressed by the nut and saddle.
I own a Takamine Jumbo and the sound of this guitar, although not as full as a jumbo, it does hold it's own against it
I have played my friends Martin and other guitars costing twice as much and they don't sound nearly as good as this one does.

The frets are even with smooth edges. No sharp edges like a lot of other brans that cost as much and sometimes more than this one.The clear finish is smooth and exceptional. The neck is smooth and beautifully finished. It has a very fine white binding, which makes it appear to be twice the cost. No bumps or waves. All 6 strings are very close to the neck right out of the box. No fret buzz.

I am not comparing this guitar against Martins, Taylors or Takamine, but I have to say, this is one fine example of a relitively, mid priced guitar.....with high price quality. Compared to other guitars in the same price range, this is a total "Winner"! You will be hard pressed to find a better first guitar with a solid top for the cost. If mine were lost or stolen, I would buy another, maybe change the tunners (Grover). Whenever I take it out of the case , people I play with are amazed at it's quality and sound.

Solid spruce top, mohogany ply sides and back. Decent tuners, plastic nut and saddle. Thick gloss finish. A straight forward beginners guitar.

While not a Martin or Taylor, it has good sound for the money. Good volume, smooth midrange and bright highs. Base was just a little on the muddy side. Sustain was average.
I replaced the nut and saddle with bone and the sound improved dramatily. Base is clear with much longer sustain! This was my first guitar and I occassionaly think about selling it. Then I play other guitars costing twice as much and they don't sound nearly as good. I will keep it as my "campfire pass around" guitar.

You should always look inside an accoustic guitar. Do you see excess glue, freyed kerfing, saw burns, stains? That will be your first indication toward quality. The D10S is a clean guitar. The frets are even with smooth edges. The clear finish is thicker than most other guitars. This protects the guitar, but slightly dimishes the sound and sustain. The neck is smooth with no subtle bumps or waves.

Iv'e had mine for over 2 years and I play it almost every day. Its still in great shap with no problems. Nothing has failed! The finish is like new, the tuners are still smooth, the neck is still arrow straight.

With the quality mine shows, I doubt if customer support will ever be required

Been playing approx 9 months. Have Takamine electro accoustic, Vintage Les Paul copy and very early Japanese made Squier Strat. This guitar compares favourably with all of them. Extremely good guitarist mate prefers it to the others. He couldnt believe how good it was for the price. You can get them even cheaper on the net with different types of wood for the sides and back. Preferred to try before I bought. Shop assistant helpful not pushy. Was going to get a more expensive model but glad I didnt. Would certainly get another if anything happened to it.
