First of all...After talking to several people at Washburn knowone takes the responsability of manufacturing this absolutely fine, wonderfull instrument! Imagine that? Guessing it to be three to five years old. If you know where I can find Washburn serial numbers on the web...let me know at my email address below!
Thin-line, Electric-Acoustic, six string, SOLID BODY of mahogany, regular cutaway, spruce top, under saddle, barrcus barry piezo pickup with Volume, Tone, (no other e/q) and torttise pick guard. Hi-Z 1/4" input.
The mahogany neck is simply AWESOME...very low action...I use 12/52 guage strings with no problem (even tuned to Eb)! Kneck feels very comfortable while playing...probably a hard rosewood frettboard but may be ebony with pearl, snowflake inlays, nice medium-heavy, fretts. Kneck and body are toatally trimmed with white and black binding. Exellent tuners.
Sound

Very rich, full sound while playing strait chords or up on kneck with barr chords. You can pop off harmonics all day and night on this guitar. Pull offs, bends...you get the idea...not loud when not plugged in but still great for around the house late at night.
I have played it through transsister and tube amps. I now use both by running the guitar into my Tone Works 411 pedal, dial in a little chorus with delay and am in heaven playing for hours in stereo!
I play all sorts of stuff! This is my "got to have a mellow moment" guitar.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Like I said earlier...action is beyond great! No company flaws but has a few topcoat cracks. I got it used in 1999.
Reliability/Durability

NEVER, NEVER gig without a backup guitar or amp! If one guitar and one amp is all you have...get an extra down at your local pawnshop! I have been blessed in being able to provide a home for "homeless" guitars and amps!
This guitar will last my life-time and probably several others.

I have dealt with the company on the phone and on line. The three people I talked with were ASSHOLES.
I emailed pictures of this "George Washburn Guitar" of headstock, inside lable reading "George Washburn..Spirit...Limited, with ID# from lable and back of headstock and they claim they never made it...neither did Oscar Schmidt! That's another story!
Overall Rating

I have been playing for thirty-eight years and have enjoyed every minute. Still do! Have home studio with seventeen guitars, 21 amps and two keyboards, digital and anolog pedals, fenders, Magnatones, Peaveys, Silvertones, Kay, Hilgen, Vox, Crate, Omega and more amps.
Guitars...Washburn, Fender, Squire, Electra, Hondo, Kramer, Hammer, Echo, Frammus, Custom made strats that kill...etc!
If this guitar was stolen or lost...no I would not replace it! The same model would probably sound and play completely differant.
Allready said above what I like about it! I have owned and played many guitars and this one has been the best acoustic.
Play as many guitars as you can...same for amps...you will be suprised what you will hear and learn!
Happy Trails
