The sound is what amazes me.
I have a taylor 310, My list of dream guitars includes a taylor 914c, a martin d35, and a martin hd28v, the point is I Know what a acoustic guitar should sound like. At least to my own ears. This guitar sounds great. It has deep deep bass very comparable to a martin d35, overall I think it sounds closest to a d35. Mids and highs not as bright as taylor but more bass which is a nice change for me when i put down the 310. Its weird bc having a laminate back and sides you wouldnt think the color that rosewood ads to the overall sound would be there. This guitar is lush and full like a rosewood guitar. It doesnt have the sustain and clarity of my taylor, but its not a taylor. For what I paid for this in 1998 (around 450) it is an amazing guitar. I would only write a review for this guitar if I thought it was worth it. One last note is that this guitar is 11 years old, it has a lot of play time and has opened up considerably, playtime is what makes a guitar special. This was my first guitar, I'll have it forever.

The neck is in excellent shape as well as the rest of the guitar. Having a mahogany neck is just sweet and really ads to the tone of this thing. All gloss makes it a beuty, I would sit this guitar proudly next to any martin or taylor. The shape of the neck is the same as my taylor and the martin d35. Its a slim fast neck. The saddle and nut and pins that came with it were garbage. I put in a bone saddle and nut with ebony pins. Cant expect this stuff on a 400 dollar washburn and its an easy upgrade.

Solid build. 11 years as my first guitar, it has been through it all. Not one crack or flaw on this guitar. One benefit of laminate wood is it is strong.

Today, I would never consider buying a washburn like this being the martin and taylor snob that I have become. However, I cherish this guitar bc it is my first guitar, and bc it has a beutiful deep full tone that gets better every year.
