Amazing sound, contemporary resonator sound.
Very adaptable.
Rich, bright with lots of sharpness near the bridge and smooth Hawian by the neck - simply awesome.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action is fantastic - nice and high.
Brilliant playability.
Overall finish is not perfect, but any roughness is completely forgiven because the playability, sound and price are so amazing.
Reliability/Durability

Guitar seems to be extremely well made - but not had it long enough to comment on durability - but so far so good.
Put it this way, if it did break i would buy another in an instant!
Customer Support

No Opinion
Not had to deal with it.
The dealer I bought it from was however excellent.
Had it shipped from Arizona (The Mandolin Store) to the UK.
Fast delivery and excellent service.
But this was the dealer not the maker so can't really comment.
Also, I don't think they are available outside the US which is a real problem as you don't get to sample the guitar you buy which is crucial with acoustic instruments - but I was not dissapointed.

I have owned several resonators in this sort of price range and have played many new USA Dobros.
When making my decision I could not justify spending ??2500 ($4500) on a dobro when the Wechter/Sceerhorn was to me almost as good.
It certainly sounds as good, only it's finish in a couple of places let it down.
I have been playing lap dobro for around 3 years and this is the best instrument I have owned.
I have a Dobro Houndog and 2 Ozarks which are both nice but the Wecter /Scheerhorn is in another league.
I have played the Beard equivalant which is I'd say on a par with the Wechter in terms of quality and playability but had a far more traditional sound - a really lovely guitar - but the sound of the Scheerhorn seems brighter and more contemporary so thats the one for me.
