Guitar was bought used, $250.00 not really sure how old it is or where it was made. I don't really care either, all I know is that this guitar is going to make my Taylor jealous.
I have played, and bought, and tried out many guitars in my 53 years and there aren't many out there today that come close to the Yamaha DW8-12 unless you spent alot more money. I walked in the store looking for strings for my Taylor and I picked this guitar up and started playing
" Dance with Me " by Orleans and said to my son. " This is mine " and I bought it on the spot. Very happy with purchase.

Sound : 10
I am an acoutic guitarist playing songs ranging from Jim Croce to Orleans and the Eagles and just about everyone else in between. The sound and handling are incredible for such a cheap price, I would put this one up against any of the much more expensive guitars out there.
I mike it through my Behringer PMX2000 Powered Mixer and Bose Speakers, sounds fantastic. Absolutely nothing I dislike about it, the small scratches in it give it character.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Full sized Dreadnaught, 12 String, Sitka Spruce Top, Nato Sides and Back, Rosewood Neck.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It's at least 20 years old, I'm trying to get a date from Yamaha, there are a few small scratches but they add character, otherwise it looks very new. Yes, I can depend on it and I could use it on a gig without a backup.

Customer Support : 1
Unfortuneately the guitar has been discontinued so I don't think there is much support, but I'm not worried about that.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar for 41 years. I also own a taylor Big Baby and a Taylor 110. I'm afraid it might be irreplaceable if stolen.
My favorite feature is the playability, and the sound, the neck is narrow for a 12 string.

This guitar is the best feeling guitar I have ever had in my hands...period! The neck is the smoothest I have ever played and the action is perfect...and I have small hands.

Sound : 10
The sound is simply amazing. I went into my guitar shop and tried every 12 string they had ranging in price from 800 to 2000, and guess what?...yep, the DW8-12 sounded the best out of all of them...even the 2000 Guild and Martin...but the Guild did have some amazing sounding bass. This thing sound unreal through a good acoustic amp, like a Crate, and a plain ole sound hole pickup that I stick in.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Like I said before this guitar is so easy and fun to play I much prefer it to my 6 string and my fingers rarely get sore. It just feels so good when you pick it up that it inspires you to play it and then when you hear the sound....unreal.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It is the most substantial feeling guitar I have ever put my hands on...it feels just so weel made I would imagine it will last much longer than me.

Customer Support : 10
I have not had to deal with them so I will give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

Overall Rating : 10
I have only been playing for a year and a half and this guitar has inspired me to practice more and more because when I see it in the stand, I just have to grab it and start jamming with it. It also sounds so good that anytime I go to a jam session, everyone always says..."Dude, remember the 12 string"...that says it all.
