It's a basic, plain guitar, but its a Martin! My next one will have more features.

Excellent sound. I own 7 other guitars, Washburn,Fender, Gibson, Takamine, and the sound from this is much better than any of the others. I play folk, country, gospel. There is nothing about it I don't like. I played a $6500.00 Martin in a music store and this guitar frets and sounds as good as that one did.

I'm a beginer but to me it has a full rich sound.My brother in laws have been playing all thier lives and they say it has a good sound.

Denny Zager modified it with his E-Z play string science and that is true, very easy and no sore fingers. The strings are low which make it so much better

As far as style, it fits perfectly if playing is a style. The tones are great no matter if you're finger pickin or getting country with a pick, it's just a great acoustic.

This is another area that cannot be described with mere words. The Martin Sigma DM-1 has a very full bodied sound, that i have been without from the prior guitars that i have purchased.
I was really impressed how easy the DM-1 was to play, unlike other guitars where i have found that i had to push the strings harder. The DM-1 took all that away, and has made pushing the strings a thing of the past.

This is a 2005 Martin DM-1 Dreadnaught Acustic, rosewood neck wood, gloss finish. Finish is impeccable. I give it a 9 because there are no features on an accustic like an electric.

This guitar has an awsome sound, thanks partly to the "String Science" of Denny Zager. The guitar has a full sound, and what I like the most is it has that 50's-60's sound, not common in acustics. Volume will fill the room with a deep and strong highs with great low and high balance. Astonishing.

Finish was excellent, tight tuners. Denny zager modified this guitar by lowering the strings and widening the string spacing. No more sore fingers, no more finger fatigue, and no "Buzzing". i have a gibson and have played martin, taylor, fender, and many others.....the sound of this guitar is comparable and for the price, you can't find a better guitar.
