This is a Martin-Sigma DM-1StCE, modified with Dennis Zager's EZ-Play String Science.
It is a 14 fret, Venetian cutaway design with a built-in transducer and gloss finish. The nut and saddle are both hand-carved. The bridge is rosewood. The tuners are Grover. The top is solid spruce, the back and sides are mahogany.
The guitar came strung with Martin strings, and several freebies were thrown in with my purchase: A free set of Martin strings, a T-shirt, and a couple of Martin picks.

I really like the sound of this guitar. It sounds rich and full, and is much louder than other guitars I have played. There is not string buzz.

This guitar has been modified with Denny Zager's String Science, which quickens the action. Even after spending several days in UPS transit, this guitar had no flaws. After some minor tuning, it played great right out of the box.

I have had this guitar for less than a week, so I cannot speak of its durability. However, being that it is a Martin, I anticipate it being top-notch. It certainly seems to be quite dependable.

My interaction with Zager Guitars has been tremendous. I ordered my guitar in the week between Christmas and New Years, which is a time that it is normally impossible to get any kind of assitance from most companies. However, my emails have been answered quickly.
Their return policy is essentially, "If you don't like it, send it back for a full refund". I know of no other manufacturer with such a policy. The warranty is equally impressive, in that it is for life. Can't get any better than that.

If this guitar were to be stolen or destroyed, I would quickly buy another just like it. I have played a friend's Martin, a guitar that cost several thousand dollars. I would not trade mine for his.
There is nothing that I do not like about this guitar. My favorite feature is the strings being spaced out a little more than normal. This allows me to accurately finger several chords that I am not able to finger with my other guitar.

the guitar is a Sigma by Martin set up beautifully by Zager Guitars using the E-Z play modifications to nut and bridge to make the guitar so easy to play. and it sounds great. Single cutaway , great access to upper frets, but the main thing is the ease of playing all over the neck. The finish is glossy and overall the guitar looks and plays superbly. The guitar leaves Zager in ready to play condition. No buzzing, clean, and ready to go ! I plugged it in my small practice amp and it sounds great. I'm very pleased !

played acoustically it's volume and tone is comparable or better to higher priced guitars especially those Martin acoustic electrics that are in the $699 range(and the ZAGER is all wood !), I will use it as a home guitar as my main (and only) acoustic. At gigs when it's time to bring it down and play some acoustic tunes this will be my guitar to play. At a price of $495 I feel this guitar saved me over $200 and the best thing about it is the ease of playability !

The've been great with my inquiries!

I've been playing for 30 years. Electric and acoustic. This is the perfect guitar for me and i compared it to my band buddy's Martin Acoustic Electric the one with the non wood sides and back, and neck and it 's tone sounds better to me and it plays a lot easier, and plugged in sounds just as good. So i feel i saved $200. Again it's the feel of the neck to me and thats why i'm glad i found Zager online. If I lost this guitar I'd be on the phone to Zager and get another one. At this price you really have a nice guitar that plays and sounds like it's higher priced cousins.

The Zager guitars are taken apart and put back together by Denny Zager himself. By lowering the strings they are much easier to play. I looked at many guitars before buying the Zager Guitar. I' very pleased.

I have been playing for 30 years. I also own a Mosrite Mark 5, Ventures Model. I would definately purchase this guitar again. I love the light touch to depress the strings, very easy on the fingures. I compared this guitar to Martin and Gibson. I chose this one because it played so easily.
I have been very pleased with the customer service.

I have been playing on and off for 30 years and have a 65 Gibson SG a 95 Taylor 518CE, I must say my favorite feature of this guitar is the action it took a lighter touch on the fret board and made my playing a lot more natural, Many of my friends have played this guitar and are very impressed with the action and the price and i have had to put a stop on these friends borrowing it all the time. I have never written a product endorsment for anything before but i had to share this with foks that are looking for a great alternitive to the other higher priced quality instruments

For the price this guitar is very good. The modifications that Denny Zager made really make a big difference in the playability. It really is a beautiful guitar. The electronics are easy to use and have a pretty wide range of controls.

I love the sound of this guitar. It really is quite incredible. The difference in sound created by the modifications made by Denny Zager are amazing. For the price you can't beat it. I am a Martin fan and I was actually surprised by the sound of this Sigma.

The finish on this guitar is beautiful. There were no flaws that I could see. The action is incredibly low but without any buzz. It is honestly the easiest to play guitar that I have ever owned. I don't know how it came from the factory, but with the Zager modifications it is excellent! The solid spruce top has alot of character and is perfectly matched. I am very pleased with it.

I bought this guitar from Denny Zager. The first guitar that I ordered I sent back and got this one instead. There was not anything wrong with the other one, it just did not have the kind of sound that I prefer. They were more than cooperative and sent me the new instrument before I had even returned the fist one. Their customer service is the best that I have encountered. They always e-mail me back super fast. I was shocked actually.

This guitar is made by Martin. I believe it is imported but it is modified in the U.S. by Denny Zager. It has a venetian cutaway, solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, sealed grover tuners, built in transducer, Onboard electronics, Guitar strap audio jack, tortoise shell pick guard, gloss finish, hand carved custom nut and saddle, hand filed frets, scalloped x-bracing, rosewood fretboard and bridge, martin strings, and a lifetime warranty.

Has a nice full sound. I plug it in to the sound system at my church and sometimes into my little Fender practice amp. I play mostly at church. I used to use an epiphone pr5-e which tended to sound to bright to me with too much treble. This guitar is more balanced and has a much fuller sound. At home I practice fingerstyle country or soft rock. Unplugged it sounds plenty loud to me but I havn't tried to play with other full bodied aucousics yet. I think it will hold its own volume wise. There are no bad spots. No buzz or dull spots.

Superb. This guitar has the best action of any I have seen. Very easy to play. This is because of the setup done by Denny Zager which he calls his EZ play string science. In the first position especially it requires very light pressure on the strings. This is because the strings have been lowered by Denny. To get the action so close with no buzz at all is this guitars best feature. There are no finishing flaws that I can see.

I have only had the guitar for a week so I can't really say. It looks very sturdy. I am planning to keep it for a long time. I had it sitting on one of those small fold up stands at church and it fell over. It put a little scratch on the back. The neck and headstock look fine. Can't blame that on the guitar. It still plays the same.

This is a great guitar and I am glad I bought it. I own an oscar schmidt hollowbody electric, an epiphone pr5-e acousic electric, and a tacamine acoustic. This guitar is just easier to play and sounds better than any of them. The action is pretty good on all of them and the pr5-e I even had someone at a local guitar shop set up for me. The action on that guitar is very good compared to a lot of guitars but not quite as good as the Zager. And the Zager sounds better, especially plugged in. I would buy it again.

This is the most beautiful and easy to play guitar that I have ever owned and I have even owned a Martin D-18. This guitar was modified by Zager Guitars to make it an EZ Play guitar.
It was made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania and was modified in 2005 in Lincoln, Nebraska. It has 14/20 frets; solid spruce top; laminated mahogany back and sides; solid rosewood fingerboard and bridge; it has on-board electronics; body style is cutaway; Tuners are chrome enclosed/chrome buttons.

I just love my new guitar. I had broken my left index finger in 1999 and had to have one of the pulleys repaired. Being right handed, it affected my playing ability. I could not easily play the Yamaha that I had but was relieved to find that I can play again with the EZ play action of this awesome guitar!

I've played for 26 years. If this guitar were stolen or lost, I would buy it again. I love it's full tone and the EZ playability added by Zager Guitars. I compared it to the Martin D-18 that I owned many years ago and was impressed with how the tone sounded the same but this one was easier to play. Zager Guitars know what they are doing when they make a guitar easier to play. I have total faith in them.

I still cannot believe how friendly Denny Sr. and Denny Jr. have been to me. When an email is sent to them they respond almost immediately and try their hardest to make their consumers happy. There is a 100% money back gurantee on the guitar and a lifetime warranty. The Zagers truly know how to run a business right and effectively.

I bought this guitar with saved up graduation money and birthday money. I spent all but 2 dollars to purchase my Zager. I was very nervous of how it would sound, play, and look. The reviews on his site are 100% true and i believe every word of them now. Zager guitars match antyhing out there. The EZ-Play Sigma DC-1STCE is definitely a bargain for $495. This guitar is a dream come true for me and I would consider it to anyone.
