The Zager ZAD 80 has rosewood body. The ZAD 50 has I belive mahogany. They both are very beautiful guitars.
Sound

The ZAD 50 and ZAD 80 have such rich sound. My instructor said they sound like a piano.
Action, Fit, & Finish

No pickups. The action on these guitars make them the easiest guitars to play. The guitar I was previously using I could not play more than 25 minutes before my fingers would ache. These guitars I can play well over an hour and not have a problem.
Reliability/Durability

The hardware used for both my ZAD 80 and ZAD 50 are first rate. There is no skimpyness at all. I've had both guitars for only a short period of time, but they are both so well built I cannot imagine having a problem with either one.

I have never delt with a company that was so helpful as Denny Zager Jr. I would send him an email with a question and have the answer no more than 15 minues later. The guitars would be shipped to me the day after I ordered them. It was a pleasure dealing these people.

I have only been playing for about 6 months. but my instructor has been playing for over 30 years, he has performed all over the world, has plyed on MTV (back when they plyed real music) and he knows his guitars. He raves over my ZAD 50 OM and ZAD 80 not just to me but to everyone that I have shown it to when he is around. Eric (his name is Eric Ross) I thinks likes my guitars as much as I do. He keeps saying that I got great deals buyin these guitars.
