The sound is by far better than other guitars that I currently own. It's a great sounding guitar with a nice rich tone. The frets for me, are just right and there's no buzzing or noise anywhere along the fret board. Great sound!

The action is wonderful and again, the setup is perfect for me! Zager guitars are built to Denny Zagers specifications and then custom modified by Denny himself. The ZAD 50OM has a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides and a rosewood fretboard and bridge. It has a beautiful gloss finish and trim that would be more than acceptable on far more expensive guitars. The ZAD 50 OM is the orchestra size model which is approximately 15% smaller with a narrower waist. It has a custom set up that is in my opinion second to none. A very low action for an acoustic that is so much easier on the fingers. I purchased this guitar for my daughter who is 12 and a new player. She currently is taking lessons and was having a lot of trouble with her chords on the fretboard with finger pain to the point of putting off her 30 minute practice sessions every day. The very first day the Zad 50OM arrived she practiced for over 2 hours and was thrilled. The sound is vibrant and projects very well. The fact that this is a OM size model did not seem to affect the volume at all as compared to full size guitars. We looked at many different guitars and the sound quality of the Zager is far superior to any in this price range and as good as many priced much higher. My brother-in-law is in a band and talks music/guitar night and day was extremely impressed with the sound and could not believe it was coming from a guitar that only cost $495. As I stated above the action and set-up is what really makes an already excellent guitar stand out. The custom work done by Denny is outstanding. Of all the positive things I can say about the Zager Guitar, I cannot begin to express how helpful and friendly the company is. I sent many e-mails asking questions and advice on the correct guitar for my daughter. Dennis Zager Jr. recommended the OM size based on my details. But I originally ordered the ZAD 15 3/4 size guitar on my daughter's guitar teachers opinion. When we received it the size seemed just a bit to small for her. Slightly smaller guitar. Similar to folk. Approximately same size as a classical but with a rounded back to increase depth. Grover tuners what ever that means. Slightly wider strings. Checked at guitar store with a guage. Seagull has same spacing.

What I have learned to be sustain is what this guitar has in spades.
A note splashes, rebounds, repeats and holds forever.
Went back to a guitar store. Found that 500 dollar MArtin with plywood neck and plywood sides sounds as good or better but looks like "S". The seagull looks and sounds great but has an ugly pointy neck and I'm not sure is as easy to play. All the other $500 guitars I tried sounded tinny and brassy and pathetic by comparison,.

2nd string buzzed. Fixed with one call to Denny Zager after midnight. Doesn't the cat ever sleep? Action is low . Strings close to fret to make it easy to play

This is an OM-size guitar with solid spruce top, mahogany back, sides and neck, rosewood bridge and fretboard, inlaid abalone rosette, and Grover tuners. What makes this guitar special (other than the beautiful sound) are the Zager "EZ-Play String Science" modifications, including hand-sculpted nut and saddle, hand-filed frets, custom-scalloped braces, and slightly wider spacing between the strings. It is fitted with Martin extra light strings, and Zager includes an extra set of strings, along with a Zager Guitar t-shirt and a surprise free gift, which in my case was a folding guitar stand.

The OM body is about 15% smaller than a full-size dreadnought, which should make it not quite as loud, but I haven't noticed much difference volume-wise from the Yamaha FG730S dreadnought I was playing before I sprung for the Zager. The sound quality is amazing. It is warm, rich, and bright. The sound has a lovely resonance and is surprisingly big for a guitar this size. Even the treble notes are round and mellow, with none of the tinniness one often hears with lesser guitars.

The mahogany back and sides have a dark grain that contrasts nicely with the light-colored top. I really like the OM size. I am small framed with small hands and even though I have been playing for over 25 years, I have not been able to afford a guitar that would fit me as well nor have the sound quality that this model does. For the past 25 years I have purchased no less than 10 guitars. I have purchased acoustic, classical, and electric guitars with prices ranging from $250.00 to $1,500.00. Each acoustic without fail would end up in the back of my closet and later sold for a loss. I have never been able to find an acoustic guitar that just plain didn't hurt my fingers and buzz on some chords.

I fingerpick blues and folk. It's very good for this. The sound is crisp and clear in the mids and highs, okay in the lows, as are pretty much any OM size guitar. I was surprised how good the sound is for a guitar at this price.

The finish is striking and the wood is apparently of high quality. The gloss is uniform and really beautiful. The sides and back are a honey-colored mahogany finish. The bridge is beautiful rosewood and finished nicely too. The action is really where Zager has done something special. It is remarkably low without any buzz. I also have a Martin OM 18V which I absolutely love to play -- I bought the Zager as an extra guitar to have at work or to travel with -- but I find the Zager even easier to play than the Martin. I've been playing off and on for 30 years. I have a Martin OM 18V and have owned a Taylor 414, a Gibson SJ, and a Martin SWOMGT, and a Harmony Sovereign dreadnaught. Above average sound for a Spruce top guitar. Very bright (typical of spruce/mahog). It is a little thin on the bass end of tonality but this is very typical of Spruce guitars.

Great action from factory. As good as some high end guitars. and better than most. Frets not as smooth to run as some high end guitars but superior to many entry to mid level guitars.

This is my second Zager guitar. they are built first class. Very stable. Excellent bracing. Lifetime fisih I'm sure.

This guitar has a full rich sound that surpasses any guitar I have tried. I am new to playing, but have tried many - most well out of my price range.

This guitar was modified, by hand by Denny Zager himself and signed by him. His EZ Play guitar is significantly easier to play. I can play this guitar for hours. I believe this guitar will withstand anyone's live playing, tho I won't be doing it for a while, if at all. It's for my own personal pleasure. The hardware and finish are top-notch. I expect it will last, and if I do have a problem, I have a lifetime warranty. Yes, I can depend on it.

I've only had it two months, but it has a lifetime warranty. I've had several email and voice conversations with them. They answered my questions and concerns in a very timely manner, was kind, helpful and courteous and I have no doubt that the service will be just as good.

I have been "trying" to play for several years. I also own an Ibanez, but don't know the model. I find it very hard to fret, which is why the Zager appealed to me. I researched it and asked questions before I bought, but they offer a money back guarantee, including shipping charges, so how could I go wrong? If my guitar was lost or stolen, I wouldn't hesitate one second to order another Zager guitar. I love the ease of playing, easier than any other guitar I've picked up, the fact that I can play it for hours without my fingers killing me (tops 15 minutes with Ibanez), I love the rich tone this guitar has, I love how beautiful this guitar looks, I love the quality I got in this guitar for the price. I looked at Martins in the local store, which I could not afford, and another Ibanez, which was no better than the one I own.
I realize in your instructions that you say nothing is perfect and that this may not be published. But I can't find anything wrong with my purchase or my purchase experience. It's been awesome. I also signed up for Zager on-line classes and am finally learning to play and I'm more excited about it than I have ever been. I play for my own enjoyment. I would put it in front of a crowd but only with frsh strings. The guitar structure is mechanically sound and well braced. It should hold up as long as you use it to make music, not war.

Started in 1965. I never asked about scale but as it turned out it is not an issue. Should have asaked about he string guage recommendation. These strings atr a little too light for me. It is probably part of their "String Science" modification they do.
I will definately buy another. I want the 80CE
I wanted to try the EZ Play system they incorporate. I really have enough guitars. Now I want more. No comparison was made to any except the Martin OM series. This is my first OM soo I wanted to keep my investment down. I would have bought it with onboard EQ and pickup.Nothing else to tell at this time. I just plain like playing it. I find it easier to fret than my D28.

Acoustic folk and Spanish. Zager gave excellent info on which of their products would give the best sound for my requirements and they were right.

Playing 25 + years. Other guitars include far mor expensive Ibanez and Martin. Because of the EZ play configuration, quality and price I would immediately replace with the same model if lost. Guitar sounds excellent!!! I replaced the original Strings with Martin Marquis and the guitar sounds even better.

The only reason I rate this a 7 here is the finish. The neck sides and back look awesome but the finish on the top is just ok.It is not saned as smooth as I would have liked it, but it was no worse than what was in the local shops at this price point and significantly higher. I may be overly critical here but I work wood so I know it can be better. The fit and the action are great. Several of my friends who are much more experienced than I am agreed.

Hard to tell as I have not had it long...but I think it will hold up fine

Again my only real ding here is the finish on the top. I have seen this guitar maker take a lot of grief in the forums here and I just do not understand it. THe action is great...the sound is great and the setup was terrific. Almost makes me wonder how many of these folks have actually laid hands on one.

I am a professional luthier, I bought this guitar to see if the set up was truly at a high level of playability --- it is! This guitar would be a wise investment for the new player, the learning curve would accelerate rapidly mainly due to the fact that the student could pratice longer and more often with less hand fatigue. Plus it sounds very good.

I started playing the guitar in the 60's and have owned many guitars over the years to include some high dollar models that I
still have. I must say that the ZAD-50 has the best action of any guitar that I have played. Very slim neck with a custom Nut and
Saddle. The strings seem to ride very close to the fretboard with
no Buzz. It has a solid Spruce Top with Mahogany back and sides
which account for the great sound even in this smaller OM Model. A
very comfortable and playable guitar

Out of the box the guitar is set-up perfectly with a very low action
and no buzzing
