Having all of the virtues of the Zager ZAD-50, the ZAD-50CE Acoustic/Electric takes it one step further with a built in transducer and electronics package that allows it to be plugged into an amplifier and played like an electric. It has a full size venetian cutaway box that allows your left hand to slide down low for those hard to reach chords. The onboard electronics package with equalization gives you the ability to change the sound according to your playing style. It also has a built in electronic tuner with LED readout that allows you to tune your guitar in a fraction of the time it takes using conventional tuning methods. Being an acoustic and electric the ZAD-50CE is like having two guitars in one.

I bought a case later, but Denny Zager threw in a guitar stand , t-shirt truss rod tool, free guitar lesson(1), a lifetime membership and a photo of him working on my guitar. This guitar was made 02-08-08. It was hand signed by Denny Zager himself.

I play music mostly from the 70's 80's and 90's; mostly folk-rock, and R&B; and this guitar suits my style fine. (I've not been playing too long to really have a style though!)This guitar rings like a bell!It sounds like a piano sometimes. It sounds even better almost a year later, as it has opened up more , and I play better. The highs ring brightly and the lows register rich and full. It is a beautiful guitar to look at and play. I sometimes wished I had bought the OOM size, but other than that , I have no dislikes. I love the way it stays in tune. It sounds equally fine with or without an amp.

The E-Z play set up by Zager is great! It is the only guitar I own that I didn't have to take for a set-up. It has a beautifully bookmatched top. The gloss laquer is not too thick, and as I mentioned, it is a Vintage Sunburst guitar. The abalone inlay around the soundhole accentuates the guitar nicely. No flaws noted.

It onll had a bottom strap button, but I used the Zager website to put on a top strap peg, and use strap-keeper to keep it secure. i have every reason to believe this will be a durable guitar. I don't play gigs, but it sure is dependable. This guitar appears to have been made for a lifetime of playing. I'm only taking off one point for not having the top strap peg.

It has a lifetime warranty! Zager stands by their products. I first ordered a Zad50CE in black , and wanted the Sunburst instead, and they sent me sipping labels for the return and sent me my present guitar without ant hassel. They want their customers to be happy. Too bad Denny retired(as I did ) at the end of 2008!But all of the assistance I received from Denny Jr. was prompt and friendly.

I have been playing about 2 years now. I always intended to play when I retired, but a friend convinced me to start before I retired to get a jump on things, and I'm glad I did. I also owm an Al Hambra Dove knock-off(given to me by the friend that encouraged me to start as early as possible),an Ovation CK-047-BCBQ, a SiverCreek T-170, and an Applause AE-32.; a Behringer Ultra-acoustic AC450 amp, and a Fender Mini-Tone Master. I have gone to many msic shops and played some of the higher end Martins , Taylors, Larrivee's, Seagull's etc., and feel very comfortable that I made a good choice in selecting my Zager. My friend has 40 yrs. guitar experience and also give the Zager accolades. For the price(599.00)I think I coulnt have done better, and I think it compres favorably with many of the high-end models. Too bad Zager has sold out it's inventory. I was thinking of getting a ZAD80-OM, but since Zager sold, the prices are unbelievably high-they want to sell them for what they are really worth!

I love the sound of my guitar. I have had it for over a year now and it sounds so bright and crisp.. When I play with other musicians with much more expensive guitars my Zager makes there guitars sound like cheap toys...literally!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This is where the Zager out shines the rest of the class. My musician friends cannot believe how easy my guitar is to play. I love it and it is my first guitar(that i've owned) and it has made me really enjoy learning. I almost gave up playing untill I found the "easy play string science" system that is a Zager Trademerk. The guitar arrived to my doorstep perfectly tuned. I was blown away. The sound was night and day compared to the guitar I previously played. I was playing smoothers and better within 24hrs and was very amazed!!!It is a beautiful instrument with no flaws.

Reliability/Durability : 8
The guitar seems to be very reliable, the finish is very nice and it seem s dependable however I do not play live and have only been playing for a couple of years.

Customer Support : 10
This is where the Zager Guitar company truly shines. The response time is extremely quick. When I was asking questions about the product I dealt directly with Dennis Zager Jr., the owners son. He was very responsive during the purchase and I was impressed. The question I wanted answers to was would he be that responsive in the future...The answer is yes. Recently i asked a question via email and had a response within 5 minutes. Every time you contact them you hear back immediately. If you like supporting family business in America these are your guys...Outstanding customer service

I highly reccomend the Zager Guitars. They have a great product, excellents service and I've really enjoyed my online lessons. This company offers a top quality product that sounds and looks and plays awesome....The best part is the price.....You will not find a better value in the market....That is my opiniom.
