AS above - but see below. Case arrived with a latch missing.

Sound : 7
Good sound. Not exceptional. Not enough to make up for poor scoring in other areas.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
Action as received today was only so-so. About the same as my un-set-up Larrivees - not impressive. Fingertips hurt within 10 minutes. There were 2 deep gouges in the fretboard. A scuff and 2 dings on the soundboard. A scuff on the side. A blue mark on the fretboard binding. Excess glue on the bracing and wood filings inside. This was not supposed to be B stock. I was so shocked after reading these testimonials about this category being highly praised! It did NOT appear to me there was a pre-shipping inspection here!

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I could not comment.

Customer Support : 7
They can't give an exchange, though I would have liked to try one. Out of stock until January on all models. Say they will refund my money and pick-up guitar.

Overall Rating : 4
I have been playing for over 25 years and have owned Larrivee, Taylor, Martin, Guild, Yamaha. After all the testimonials and hype I was really expecting much more than I received. The guitar scored poorly on many counts. I am very disappointed.

This guitar was made in indonesia in2005, purchased in October 2005. Full scale acoustic electric with venetian cutaway box, solid spruce top, laminated Mahogany sides and back. High gloss finish which is outstanding. The Neck is wery comfortable, thinner than the Martin with Gover tuners. Purchased with a Martin Hardcase, came with an extra set of strings. All this for a very affordable price.

Sound : 10
This guitar sounds awesome, I am not an extremely experienced player however this matches the sound of many of my friends pricier guitars. My Instructor a 25 year veteran and profesional player was blown awy by the overall sound of this guitar, especially considering the fair price.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This is one of the Zager "string science" setups, I was skeptical at first but was quickly amazed at how much easier this guitar plays than other guitars I have picked up and tried. The guitar was alomost in perfect tune when I recieved it and holds its tune very well. The build quality is phenominal for a 500$ guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I am not a profesional player so I cannot comment on weather or not it will stand up to profesional use howver as a profesional woodworker I am quite fussy when it comes to finish quality and fit, and this guitar has it all in that department.

Customer Support : 10
Lifetime Warranty, have not had to use the warranty yet, I doubt I will howerver I have no doubt that Zager will back it up as their customer support and communication is excellent, prompt email response by an owner of the company, online chat, and someone on the phone whenever I called.

I have been Playing two years, I own an Art and Luthery dreadnaught. There is nothing I can detract from this guitar, a great guitar at a great price from great people. Following is an excerpt from an email I sent to Denny Zager on recieveng the guitar:

The Guitar (ZAD50CE) arrived as described (20 minutes before my Tuesday lesson), I have to admit to being somewhat skeptical of all the claims on the site about your guitars so I took it with me to have my instructor (who is also my son's instructor) give it his blessing or curse... We opened up the guitar and were immediately impressed with the apparent build quality. I handed it to him to play. He tuned it (hardly needed tuning) and immediately started ripping away and smiling. He looked at me after a moment paused and said "WOW! This is a winner! How much did you say this was?".

I played it for my 1/2 hour lesson and was impressed with how easily it played. I come home shoed it to my wife and promptly hid it away till holiday time is upon us, I have been slaving away on my old guitar and wondering when I can afford one for myself... Tonight after an hour of playing my Canadian (Art & Luthier) and getting cramps from learning bar chords, I snuck the Zad out of hiding and played for another 1/2 hour almost cramp free, I am totally sold on your "String Science" and slender neck design.

Cutaway with electronic. Sweet on board tuner. Solid spruce top and mahogany sides and back. I also ordered a very nice case from Zager. Fits great like it is being sucked into it with now movment once it is inside the case. It is a dreadnot I believe. I came with Grover tuners that stay in tune. It even came with an extra set of strings.

Sound : No Opinion
IT sounds bright just as it was billed. Lot's of volume. It is totally easier to play and sounds way better than my 20+ year old Ovation Anniversary Model 1657. I might add that it is way way easier to play too!

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Action is low and easy to play without buzzing. It does not bite your fingers or wear you out to play it. The finish is flawless.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
There was not a flaw on this instrument when I received it. It stays in tune and sounds and plays excellent.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Phenominal. The best service I have ever had with any company period

Overall Rating : No Opinion
This guitar is a 10+ My friend also bought one after he heard me rave and he is looking at selling his Martins. I like it better that my Ovation Anniversary model 1657 which I will be selling.

The overall appearance and playability of this guitar is way beyond anything I have played in it's price range, and is more playable than many guitars I've tested, including Martins and Taylors, that cost two to three times as much as the Zager.

Sound : 10
It sounds nice without an amp. I have Fender Accoustamatic amp which I've used with a Washburn and Ibanez that I've owned. The amp sounds much cleaner and more natural with the Zager.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is beyond belief...easier on the fingers than any guitar I've ever owned. I understand they scallop the bracing to allow more sound resonance, and I did have some shavings falling out of the sound hole...a rather minor inconvenience compared to the overall quality of the guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've only received it a couple of weeks ago, but it seems to be well built. It also has a life time warranty so that makes me feel pretty good.

Customer Support : 10
Fantastic, friendly service. I intend to purchase two more Zagers and two Gibsons in the future to complete my guitar collection.

Overall Rating : 10
I've played 35 years. I would buy another Zager, as i indicated above I intend to actually buy two more in additon to this one. I have compared this to Martins and a Taylor that i own and the Zager has better action. As i also indicated I intend to purchase two Gibsons, one electric, one accoustic, and with the 3 Zagers I'll have my dream collection. When I can honestly say that the Zagers which all retail for well under $1000.00, have better action and stack up well for sound and appearance to a future Gibson which is over $2000.00, I'd say the Zager is a real good deal. Before buying the Zager I owned a Taylor Big Baby, and an Ibanez concert model. The Taylor is being given to a realative and the Ibanez is going on E-bay.

Features : 9
This is a year 2005 cutaway/electric model featuring the clearwave 10 preamp (bass, middle, treble, presence, volume, and tuner) and undersaddle piezo pickup. The top is solid spruce with laminated mahogany back/sides. This is the solid black model with the mesmorizing abolone inlay around soundhole. I don't personally know where it's made, but other Zager reviews will probably tell you. I give this category an 8 because I would love to see (hear, actually) this baby with solid back and sides, and blender electronics would help. Piezo alone gives this guitar (virtually any guitar for that matter) a crisp but harsh tone - I find myself setting the treble and mid controls to low all the time.

Sound : 9
I come from a classical background with a flamenco-ish style. The sound that I get is very rich and slightly more on the bright side, perhaps because the strings are extra lights. I have yet to switch to mediums. Note for note, this guitar is LOUD, but not SUPER LOUD. For me, LOUD will do for now, and SUPER LOUD comes at a much, much higher price. The notes/strings do have an eerie hum or ring to them. The harmonics seem very pronounced. This is why strumming or playing rythm on this Zager is so... addictive. This guitar is new, so I'm hoping the years ahead will improve the sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Zagers come with the superlow action and wider string spacing than the standard acoustic which allows me to crossover smoothly from the nylon world. However, I notice that harder attacks on the bass side made the bass strings buzz - this is annoying for me because there are times when I WANT to emphasize the power of the bass, whether I'm fingerpicking or strumming. I adjusted the trussrod to keep a good balance between getting rid of the buzz but keeping the string action low - couln't find the balance. So, I carved a new saddle with the bass side slightly higher than before and the treble at original level. This solved the problem. No more buzzing when I slam on those power chords or do bass movements/solos, and overall action is still superlow. No problems with fit and finish.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Yes, this guitar will withstand live playing. When your voice goes out and fingers go dead, this guitar will still be standing. This ZAD50-CE/BK is VERY sturdy. The glossy finish is thick enough (how thick is "thick?") and I don't believe my dedicated playing will get it off within this decade...and perhaps the next. This guitar has the endpin jack for the pug-in wire and can be used as strap button. It doesn't have the strap button for the other end...which I really don't care about. I tie my strap to a quick-release which is secured to the headstock. This guitar is a Rambo, it needs no backup. Just don't slam it into the stage deck to get a raving audience response when you're done with your gig!

Customer Support : No Opinion
This guitar has a lifetime warranty. The company answer emails very quickly and curtiously. Since there's no defects with the guitar, I havent contacted them for any service or whatever. They do encourage me to contact if there is any question about the guitar. Because of my limited contact with Zager, I will not rate this category. Unofficially, the "Incredibly Kind and Helpful" rating is what I have in mind.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing classical and flamenco-ish genres on and off for about a decade and a half with some acoustic steel string curiosities. Flamenco-ish = I use flamenco "techniques" to enhance my materials, I don't actually play flamenco...anymore. I own a David Macias flamenco guitar (very, very expensive guitar, nothing at the local stores can match it...nothing! I don't care how rich you are, you want David Macias to make you one of his guitars, you have to wait in line) I also own an Esteve solid top but laminated back and sides classical guitar - very good guitar, but not great. I have a Yamah AEX500 - very sweet guitar, and a couple of bass guitars that I only use for recordings, cause I'm not a good bass player. My only amp is a Yorkville AM100 built especially for acoustic guitars and it comes with a load of built in effects. By checking out Guitar Center and other locals, I was familiar with the sound of cheap to high-end guitars before buying the Zager. I've never heard of or tried a Zager, so I took a risk in buying one online mainly for its promise of wide string spacing and easy action, important factors to help me cross over to steel string guitars. Actually, there is NO RISK in buying a Zager because there is a full refund no questions asked policy for so many days (I don't remember for how many days because I ain't giving this guitar back to Zager). I fell in love with this guitar when I first openned up the package and saw it. The first thing I did was immediately play classical stuff on it because if my classical stuff couldn't cross cleanly over, there was no point in keeping the guitar. Man, quick arpeggios and supersmooth tremelos were no problem with this guitar. As I did this, I also payed close attention to the intonation. This guitar is loud, punchy, and crisp, but again, not SUPER LOUD...but I'm not willing to spend that kind of money, so I'm not complaining. Most notable, playing rythm/chords is so enjoyable on this guitar. In all honesty, I wouldn't compare this guitar's sound to the Taylor 600 series or above, but anything below that is fare game for this Zager. As I've mentioned, I would like the electronics to be a blender and not just piezo, the difference is amazing... you folks with blenders know what I'm talk'n about. This site suggests that no guitar is "perfect," and I believe that is true. Although individual categories may not get all perfect 10's, the overall value for sound, construction, looks and playability for the buck is super.

I play country and 50/60's rock. This guitar suits both styles of music very well. When I do use an amp it is a 1964 Fender "super reverb"
It sounds absolutley great with and without an amp.
I have found no dislikes yet

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It has the action and playability of guitars costing three or four times as much.(of which I have several) The quality is excellant, no flaws that I can see.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I haven't had the guitar long enough to attest to the durabilty but from what I can see I don't anticipate any.

The ZAD50CE features a full-size Venetian cutaway box (Crafted in Indonesia and Hand Modified in the USA) - Solid spruce top - Mahogany back & sides - Sealed "Grover" Tuning Gears - Built in transducer - Onboard electronics & EQ with onboard digital electronic tuner (Clearwave 10 with Bass, Mid, Treble, Presence sliders & rotational Volume control dial) - Guitar strap audio jack - Abalone inlay rosette - Tortoise shell pick guard - Gloss finish - Hand carved custom nut - Hand carved custom saddle - Hand filed frets (20) - Scalloped X-bracing - Rosewood fret-board - Rosewood bridge - Thin neck - Genuine "Martin" strings - Zager EZ-Play Modified - Lifetime warranty - 100% money back guarantee - comes with Certificate of Authority, Extra set of Martin Phosphor Bronze Extra Lights, Allen wrench, picks and several "surprise" gifts. I also purchased a Zager Professional Hardshell Molded Case ($95). The only feature it didn't have that I would have liked to have is an upper strap peg, but not everyone would want/need this on an acoustic, so it is understandable that they would automatic drill and install a peg on these guitars.

Sound : 10
The sound/tone honestly is comparable to any $2600-$3500 Taylor or Martin I have played. I play Contemporary Christian music as the director/accompanist for a group called the Disciples of Song, in front of hundreds of people on a weekly basis, tethered to a Mackie mixer box and amplified over a sound system. I have also played for weddings (at such places as the Naval Chapel at Great Lakes Naval Base). Additionally, I play Light Rock; Country; fingerpick style as well as Rock and Roll. The ZAD50CE is a fantastic instrument for these styles of music. I have used it individually with an Alesis Spitfire 15 Amp which has over 80 Presets, and the ZAD50CE "talks" all the languages....you would swear you were playing a Fender Stratocaster. But I really purchased this guitar for the Rich, Full, and Bright tone you only hear from a top-end acoustic. I have played guitar for over 40 years....having learned to play on a Gibson; and have also owned Epiphones, Fenders, EKO (the one made in Italy, not the later editions), and lesser brands. I currently have in addition to the Zager, a Fender JG-12-CE 12-string; EKO Ranger 12-String; and an Airline Spanish guitar. There honestly is NOTHING I dislike about my Zager. If you closed your eyes and played it along with a Martin or Taylor, I would defy you to tell the difference. The sound is THAT full and rich!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
As I stated above, this guitar is crafted in Indonesia and then hand modified here in the USA by a professional luthier, Mr. Denny Zager (of the 60's duo "Zager and Evans".....are any of you old enough to remember the chart-topping hit song "In The Year 2525"?) Each instrument is hand selected by Mr. Zager and closely inspected for wood variations, hairline cracks, surface impurities and any imperfections that could lead to problems in the future. The nut is re-sculpted and lowered, to ensure lower string heights on the higher portion of neck with slightly wider string stance. The saddle is also re-sculpted and lowered, to ensure low string heights on the bottom portion of the neck. The frets are filed by hand to reduce "string bite" and overall hand fatigue. Both nut and saddle heights are coordinated to conform to new string pressures used for different string gauges and tunings. All three areas of the neck are orchestrated together to guarantee very low string heights and even string spacing from side to side. The guitars intonation is set to bring the guitar harmonically in balance with itself. (This makes it much easier to tune later on.) The instrument is exactingly readjusted again after several days to account for settling due to wood variations.Strings are re-stretched to insure the stabilization of the final tuning of instrument. The entire instrument is thoroughly cleaned, hand waxed, and buffed. Each instrument is autographed on the back by Denny himself. (Removable if you wish.) Every guitar undergoes a final fine-tune and inspection before shipping. All String Science is done by hand, only by Mr. Zager.

Reliability/Durability : 10
As I mentioned, I use this guitar in front of hundreds of people in our church on a weekly basis, tethered to a Mackie Mixer box and amplified over a professional sound system. Sometimes as additional accompaniment to a Yamaha Clavinova and Ivarez Bass.....but other times, such as last Sunday, as the LEAD instrument, with the only other instrument being played being a bass guitar. It is reliable, dependable, and I play it without a backup. The finish is flawless; the mechanics are so good that I struggle for words to describe how good. The sealed Grover tuners are such an important aspect to me...because this guitar STAYS in TUNE no matter how much I play it. I was constantly retuning my Fender 12-string....and anyone who plays guitar knows how stressful and aggrevating this is --- especially minutes before going live. The Zager is THE most dependable guitar I have ever owned for THE most important aspect of playing LIVE.....IT STAYS IN TUNE!!!! I NEVER have to worry about it falling out of tune between songs....capoed or not capoed!

Customer Support : 10
As far as Customer Support and dealing with the company.....I would honestly give them FIVE 10's! This is a small, family-owned and operated company. I have spoken to them on the phone --- when you call them, you are speaking to Denny, Dennis, Jr., or cousin Tony; when you send them an email, you get almost INSTANT replies --- and PERSONAL replies! (Ex: I mentioned one time that I had a migraine headache earlier in the day; and Dennis mentioned in his reply to me that his mother gets those nasty things, and knows how painful they are from seeing her suffering from them! THAT'S just how kind and friendly these people are to deal with!!) They offer a 100% moneyback guarantee on your purchase; and a Lifetime Warranty on the guitar! I have read the testimonials of other satisfied customers who have dealt with them concerning repairs or problems, and the treatment they have received is unsurpassed. To bring it home to MY personal situation: The first ZAD50CE I received (via UPS) was "opened and played" enroute (had to come from Nebraska to Ohio - a 3 day trip, and over a weekend, so it was 5 with the extra 2 days). There were several minor scratches on the finish....and evidence from the scatches on the pickguard cover, that someone had done a little banging around on it. Nothing major....but very disappointing and really unacceptable to me for a $500 purchase. I noticed, too, that there was a slight crack in one of the braces inside the body of the guitar.....looked like it was a weak spot in the grain of the wood, since it was following the grain pattern. That fact made the guitar unacceptable to me to keep. I sent Dennis an email....and he immediately responded that they stand 100% in back of their warranty, and he would do whatever I wished in regards to replacing it or giving me ALL my money back (including shipping BOTH ways). Because of every other aspect ---the sound, the playability, the beauty, the price, the warranty, the customer support--- there was NO question in my mind that I wanted a replacement, not a refund. Dennis immediately shipped out a replacement.....in a new case.....and simply told me to let him know when it arrived, that it was good, and he tell me how to send the first one back. Well, the replacement guitar arrived and was absolutely FLAWLESS!! I even turned on the onboard tuner, and it was still in perfect tune after bouncing around in UPS trucks from Nebraska for 3 days. He even sent me a Guitar Stand as an additional free gift!!!! I contacted him to let him know that the replacement was absolutely PERFECT, and asked how to go about returning the first one. He gave me my choice of having UPS pick it up AT MY DOOR....or he would have UPS mail me a label and I could take it to the local UPS Pickup location here in Shelby for them to pick it up. I optioned for having them pick it up at my door. HOW can you beat THAT for convenience?!?!? And the bottomline....they STAND behind their words!!! A RARE find in integrity these days. They ARE the real thing, folks!!!!

Overall Rating : 10
I have written so many comments under the other categories that I try not to repeat myself. I have played guitar for approx. 45 years; have played the best of the best, and would HONESTLY compare this guitar to $2500-$3500 Taylors and Martins (I personally prefer the sound of Taylors to Martins); I currently own, in addition to my Zager ZAD50CE, a Fender JG-12-CE 12string, a EKO Ranger 12 string (Made in Italy), and an Airline Spanish guitar (piece of junk...but has sentimental value). My Zager outplays them all.....and with your eyes closed, I think you would not be able to tell the difference in tone and sound between it and a Taylor or Martin. I play in my own Contemporary Christian group (Disciples of Song); additionally, I am the Adult Choir Director at our church, a Cantor, sing in a Quartet and Funeral Choir...solo/duet for weddings, etc. (Just so you know that my musical background is extensive.) Having said all of this, I realize that I have FORGOTTEN one of THE most important features of my Zager....and that is Denny Zager's EZ Play String Science! This guitar is THE EASIEST playing guitar I have EVER played in my life!!! And I am NOT exaggerating....There is NOTHING on the market....in ANY price range (and trust me, I have played $3500 Martins and Taylors for comparison)that plays this easily. You can play barr chords all the way up the neck with ease. And you can play for HOURS without your fingertips hurting. I purchased this guitar for $495....a hardshell molded case for it for $95. I know I have in my hands a guitar that would have cost me about $3000 more than that to find anything even remotely comparable. I love everything about this guitar and would highly recommend it and this wonderful company to anyone and everyone! I will even provide my contact information in case anyone wishes to contact me....I am THAT sincere about everything I have experienced and written.

A clean perfectly matched Spruce Solid Top, Laminated mahoghany sides and back, great sounding electronics with volume, bass, treble, mid and presence. It also has a built in tuner that shows every note using lights and a led needle. The tuning heads are sealed Gorvers. Body style is cutaway, with 21 frets. Action compares with my Strat, unbelievable! I have been playing this guitar 3 to 4 hours a session, an hour on my Guild was about all that I could do and it had great action. The ZAG just plays better,

Sound : 10
I only have about 15 hours on the guitar, but has a very nice balanced tone, I already like the sound better than my '68 Guild and it is just starting to play in. With my Fender Tube amp it sounds great too.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I frequently play up to the 19th fret and it plays as good as many electrics and better than any acostic that I have ever played. I have owned Martin D32, and D18, both reworked nut, bridge and frets. This is better, similar tone to Martin, Also I have owned Gibson Hummingbird and a couple of Ovations, I'll keep this Zager...

Reliability/Durability : 10
Right out of the box, I checked the tuning and I do like to bang a bit, and then I finger pick, and strum along, after the initial string stretching it holds the tune fine, and it is a fine sounding tune.

Higher than 10, I bought a second, but after playing it I decided for a little more I might get a better guitar. Denny sent it out as soon as I called and just said send back the one that you don't won't, we just want you to be happy with your guitar. When I mentioned that I replaced a couple of strings to get rid of an initial buz he sent me more strings. Couldn't be nicer or more prompt.

I have been playing over 30 years and currently own a 68 Guild Jumbo Auditorium, '85 Fender American Strat, and have owned dozens of guitars over the years, some I wish that I had kept(2 Martins). This ZAD50-CE is more than I expected, I am past pleased, I am amazed that I have this playability, sound and looks for less than $500. I never heard of Zager guitars until a month ago, but KNOW THIS I will be putting the word out to every player that I know. Thank you Denny for exceeding my expectations!

This guitar was made in 2005 and is a venetian cutaway box with a Solid Spruce Top with mahogany back and sides. It has 5 way selector for electronics and a built in tuner. I ordered the sunburst finish and it looks great.

Sound : 10
It sounds full, warm with bright trebles and rich base notes. I have only played it without an amp but I had a friend who owns a $2,500 Taylor try it and he got a big smile on his face. It sounds like it should have cost much more than it did.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This is where the instrument shines. It has hadboth the nut and saddle custom fit and worked by a master luthier. The strings are set in a slightly wider stance and the frets are filed and worked. The end result is an unbeleivably low action with incredible intonation. I tried serveral "off the shelf" guitars in the same price range and this one played much, much easier. Bar cords, slides and hammers are much easier. It should be a 20 but 10 is as high as I can rate it.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I haven't had the guitar long enough to really give you an opinion here other than the instrument is well built and sturdy.

Customer Support : 10
I have talked to the guys at Zager and they are very helpful. They respond to emails within minutes. I am very, very confident that they will take care of any issues that might arise.

Overall Rating : 10
I would rate this instrument a 10 and would not hesitate to buy another one if anything happened to this one. I can't imagine finding a better sounding, higher quality instrument in this price range or for that matter for significantly more. If you are looking for a great sounding, easily playable guitar this is the one you want.

Made by Denny Zager and Denny Zager Jr. with a large amount of frets, beautiful wood, and EZ play modified action which makes the guitar sound incredible. Also includes an equalizer and electric ability.

Gorgeous sound that competes with guitars 15 times the price!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
EZ Play modification makes the action incredible, for fingerpicking or strumming.

Except for the occasional sting breaking, I would trust my life with this guitar. I use it for all my live performances and treat it with the best strings money can buy, because I know it can handle them.

Customer Support : 10
AMAZING! They really live up to their lifetime warranty...from the free goodies that come initially...picks, strings, a t-shirt, to the friendly nature of just talking to them on the phone, to when the electric part of my guitar for some reason stopped working and they actually sent UPS to PICK IT UP and they SENT ME A NEW ONE COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE, to just the other day when for NO REASON they decided to send me new pegs and strings! They are THE best sellers I have ever dealt with!

Overall Rating : 10
I have owned many acoustic, electric and acoustic electric guitars and this is by far my favorite. Don't listen to the slander of some of these other reviewers, these are honest, incredible sellers. Contact me or any of the other 1000s of people who have spoken so highly of them on their website if you have doubts. I was at first weary of purchasing a guitar online I had never gotten to feel with my own fingers, but the risk was worth it beyond belief. And if you are skeptical, just keep in mind what amazing businessmen they are and know they will take care of you if you have ANY concerns or problems!

I just purchased a used ZAGER ZAD 50CE..Acoustic/electric (rare to find one used. the guitar store guy didn't even know what it was). The guitar is made in Asia somewhere but supposedly setup by Denny Zager personally (I don't believe that) It has a solid spruce top and the Mahogany (layered wood) sides and back..Nice active pickup with built in tuner and 4 band eq. the neck and the low action is the main selling point of this guitar.

Sound : 9
The sound is very nice...but I hear a lot of people say that it sounds thick and bassie...however compared to my seagul it sounds more on the high/punchy end and very bright...Sounds very nice through my bass amp (Hartke 3500 head/hartke 410 transporter) and plugged into a PA system with a church band.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
the setup and action deserves a 20 not merely a 10!!!!! I bought this guitar because I have mild corpal tunnel syndrome and my wrists hurt when I play too much. Denny Zager truly delivers in this department. He calls it an easy play guitar and it most definetely is..and that is the main, and in my opinion the only reason I would recomend a ZAGER over any other guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It seems solid but I have had it only a short time. I will rate it a 10 because it feels so good..

Customer Support : No Opinion
Well I emailed ZAGER on a Sunday night and they responded immediately (within 10mins) and it wasn't a computer generated response it actually answered my question (unless that is one smart computer)..so I assume that the customer support will be good...however since I got mine used and at a seriously reduced rate...i don't have the customer service or warranty..

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing mainly rock and alternative rock for about 18yrs. I have had a Fender and Seagul Acoustic and played many other types of acoustics. I bought this guitar because the action is so low and it is a lot less stresful on my wrists...Basically if you do not have problems with your hands or wrists (pain or small hands) then you could get a guitar of equal quality for less money..(eg. Martin Sigma for $399 where ZAGER charges $495+$45.00 shipping for the exact same guitar but set up in the zager string science method) For me, I would pay the extra Money because it would cost at least that much to have a local guy setup the guitar like zager does..But if i was younger and my wrists didn't hurt so bad..I wouldn't care about the setup...My off the shelf 80's Seagul was great for many years...So basically when you are buying a ZAGER or Zager modified Martin you are paying extra for the setup..and for me it would definitely be worth it..at least at this stage of my life..lol...and since I got it used and it was made in July of 2005 (practically new)..I paid only $350 for it so I got a killer deal...i don't know why it was traded in and why the person who owned it before me didn't send it back for the 100% money back garentee..but I DON'T CARE...I got a great guitar, great deal, but I would have paid FULL PRICE..for the action alone!!!

2005 acoustic-electric, included great hard case, hex wrench, etc. On-board tuner is fantastic and included EQ slides for electronics are VERY responsive

Sound : 10
over 40 years playing folk/blues/folk-rock and this guitar meets all my needs except not great for alternate tunings - however, they tell you up-front it's specifically designed for standard tuning. Sound over the hole is full and rich and brightens as you move down to bridge. There was a slight buzzing problem (from the battery compartment) when I first got guitar and Zager.com walked me through taking care of it (though the would have replaced or refunded!)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
What "factory set-up"? These guitars are all set up by Denny Zager himself. Action is fabulous while not killing hands.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Bought it specifically for gigging as I don't like to have my more expensive instruments leave the house (particularly not as I mostly play outdoors). This guitar will withstand a lot of abuse and oddly gets less sluggish than any of my Martins in humidity! While it's the newcomer in my collection, I expect it to be in good shape for a long time to come.

Customer Support : 10
Support was great and included nearly instantaneous responses from Denny Zager Jr. They are very willing to work out any problems.

Overall Rating : 10
I own 3 Martins, 3 Ovations and a Craviola and have been playing for 43 years. If it were stolen I would replace it as I like the flexibility of the sound and how easy it is on the hands and I love knowing the folks at Zager will go the extra mile to make things work.

Features : 10
The Model I bought was made in 2005 in Asia. I've had it now for almost 2 months. An Acoustic Electric, it has a solid spruce top, mahoghany back and sides with impecable grain and color. The controls have volume, bass, treble, mid and presence. It also has a built in tuner for each string note. The tuning heads are sealed Gorver tuners. Body style is cutaway, with 21 frets. Neckscale through the bridge is Rosewood and specially adjusted for "no-buzz" or sore fingers! Anybody can play this for hours, I do and I've never been comfortable with an accoustic.

Sound : 10
For me, I have always played on a classical and this is my first stab at steel, let alone A/E. I researched all brands popular on the market, most well beyond my price. The sound is incredible, every note or chord rings forever. I prefer a picking style, all music. I haven't tried the electrical yet, I am having too much fun with it without.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar was set-up beyond typical factory settings and personally signed by the person who did so. My son owns a fairly new Taylor 314 and a brand new Alvarez AD60K, which did not come in set as this one. And it stays in tune.
The finish, the quality of the wood selected is excellent and actual abalone inlay.
the action is very smooth. I can move anywhere through the neck.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Yes, this guitar will stand live play without a doubt, but not on a rock concert. It wasn't made for that. I don't play live but two of my friends do. I didn't buy a strap or case yet, but I am. This finish is gloss and not filmy or thin. All of the edges are "bound" not taped, humidity hasn't been an issued when I taken it anywhere. There isn't a backup, in my opnion, that will suit it, except some extra strings.

Customer Support : 10
This is the best part. Here is where all others are left standing in my opinion. I communicated before, during and after the purchase. I get answers immdeiately by phone or e-mail. I had a lot of reserve buying it on the internet, but no more. Even dealing with people at the retail level, once you buy it....goodbye. Not here!

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Since I was 16 and I am 52 now. I wish I had know about this company before. I'd definitely buy another one. The sound and playability. I compared Taylor and Martins first because that was my original choice except for $, then Takamini, Alvarez, Yairi (used) and Dean.
Playability, action, intonation and the resonance I heard.

This guitar delivers all that I ask. The highs are crisp, the lows are full & deep.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar was set up properly on arrival, only minor tuning needed.
The action is very low (the reason I bought a Zager). Though the top was properly bookmatched and finished beautifully, the left & right sides had a cosmetic tone mismatch. I asked for a replacment from Zager.
The next guitar arrived beautiful...no hastles and no additional $$$.

Reliability/Durability : 7
This guitar seems solid. I have faith that it will be their to play when ever I need it. If I found myself playing in front of an audience of size, I would always have a back up guitar no matter what the brand.

Customer Support : 10
This is my second purchase with Zager. The first purchase had fast delivery, a great guitar & great customer service. My second purchase had fast delivery on both the initial & replacment guitar. Both guitars have a great full sound. I had a cosmetic concern with the inital guitar of this second purchase, it was replaced very fast. The response from Zager was friendly & understanding. Zager covered all of the cost required in getting me my second guitar and in getting the initial guitar back to Zager. The service is the best.

I have owned Stagg & Ovation guitars.
If it were stolen or lost I would replace it with an other Zager.

Its a pretty standard dreadnaught cutaway. The top is solid. The features are the wonderful built-in tuner. If you play for a living like I do, its just one more thing not to have to carry around and worry about losing. The tuner works great and the electronics are easy to use and work well too. But the real "feature" is the great set up. Absolutely the best! Very low action, no buzz and so easy to play. Wonderful!

Sound : 9
Well, this guitar sounds good. Very good. But they are set up for extra light string guages and I think it might be a little louder with just a slightly heavier string. Maybe 11 thru 50 or so instead of the 10 thru I think 47's it comes wiht. These guitars are very specally made for Zager, wonderful slim neck and carefully set up for the extra lights. I'm going to try a little heavier string because I'm a bit of a beater but might have to switch back. We'll see. I certainly like the sound of this guitar as is.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The set-up, of course is perfect right out ofthe box. That's this guitar's big selling point and its not at all exagerated. Denny Zager has figured out how to put the strings right down on the fingerboard and not have any fret buzz. Awesome set-up. The very best acoustic set-up I have every seen and I have 16 acoustic and electric guitars and have played for nearly 50 years. Just amazing. The fit and finish are flawless and its a very lovely instrument. I ordered a black one and its gorgeous!

Reliability/Durability : 9
I used it the very first night in a club and it was a pleasure. I always carry aroung at least two guitars when I work so I'm covered jsut in case but this guitar seems well made and just bout like any other good quality profession instrument.

Customer Support : 10
Well, here's another "feature", I guess. The Zager reputation for excellent customer service seems very well deserved. It is a small family owned company and they are very nice. These Zager guitars have a lifetime warranty and I don't expect any problems either with the ax or with the Zagers if something goes wrong. Very nice people.

Overall Rating : 10
I think I've really discovered something here. An amazing luthier having a really nice guitar manufactured to his specs and then carefully doing his own custom set-up and all that for a very reasonable price. I'm excited! I want another one soon! Yippee!

This guitar is a dreadnought cutaway with underbridge pickup and built in controls & tuner. I'm sure, as most others, it is made in Asia. It has a solid spruce top, and the finish is superb. It has Grover tuners and Martin light strings, rosewood frets and a thin neck.

Sound : 10
I have not used an amp., but it has a very full full sound. Very satisified!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar, of course, was reworked by Denny Zager (String Science) and is so easy to play, that once I thought I heard it play itself. As far as flaws, this is a (B" model), and I still can't find a flaw.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I think this guitar will withstand anything that I could throw at it. It seems to be very solid and keeps its tune very well.

Zager offers a 30 day return warranty with no questions asked and they will even pay the shipping both ways. They also offer a lifetime warranty on the guitar including the electronics. How can you beat this?

I have been playing for 46 years. I would replace this guitar with another Zag. I love the sound and ease of play. I looked at other guitars, but for the money, they didn't come close. My other guitar is a 1969 Harmony Sovereign, which I bought new.

I play fingerstyle in various speed ranges as classical as my own music.
Using M-Audio Delta 1010 LT to record audio tracks.
This Zager guitar has superior clear sound as long as it has EZ-Play modified strings - it is easy to play without accidential noise. It sounds great with middle (flat 0 level) settings even. But I like to have full highs and lows and this what I use for onboard EQ.
Zager 50CE has very specific sound - rich, full and spicy. If to compare to my previous guitar which I liked for 7 last years (Almirez 550) such a guess would be like to compare generic sigarettes to cuban premium sigar. Zager guitar has its very own way to sound...
So I enjoyed to play classic Russian romances on my new guitar as much as "Wish you were here"... and it is a real joy.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Guytar has arrived in great condition, tuned, double packed for safety and along with certificate of authentity, poster, beautiful T-shirt, and pack of Martin' strings. I have no negative things to say about.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I got Life Warranty on this guitar from manufacturer.
I will use ti as main instrument for my on-stage performances.
What about finish and quality overall - I can say for sure that I already depend on it.
This guitar has steel strap which is used as cable jack. Very gentle architecture for stage accoustic guitar.

Customer Support : 10
My new Zager guitar has Life Warranty. 100% money back guarantee if I don't like it and many other nice things which are not often listed in other guitar manufacturers support list.
Honestly, It was amazing to have conversation with Dennis Zager. He answered every little thing I need to learn about guitar. Also I was allowed on Zager's website to hear the sound of guitar before I decided to buy. I was not worried about shipping at all - my guitar was covered for any bad thing which may occure and I knew that I will receive new guitar with 'no question asked'. It is no need to list here all amazing things about this manufacturer as long as there is Zager's website...

Overall Rating : 10
I playing for about 26 years. I had before following guitars: Cremona (Chech guitar), Orpheus stage guitar (Bulgary), custom Russian guitars - 6 and 12 strings, then I got Almirez 550 and finally - Zager EZ-Play ZAD50CE Accoustic/Electric (current).
Zager website has very descriptive testiminials and suppors and FAQ pages so... I do not have questions which I wish now to ask before...
I definitely will buy it again if somewhat will destry this guitar 'cause of its incredible sound and easy to play for hours.
I was looking close Washburn, Alvarez, Fender... but - what I really like from those manufacturers is priced so high... I sipmple can't afford such A TRYING... Then, again... not many of them will accept 'disliked' guitar back and return money in full plus both ways shipping... But Zager will do that. And this guitar sounds like other brands with tripple zero in price...
If Zager will produce two-neck guitar with not that shallow body as Washburn did and with EZ-Play of course - I will be first customer in line. It was my realy great experience.

The guitar was made in May of this year, and actually was rated a "B" stock guitar because of a small blemish on the front near the sound hole. Zager discounted it and I was aware that it was a "B" stock guitar. However, I had to hunt a bit to actually see the blemish; I had to hold it at just the right angle. So this could have been sold as new but I appreciate the honesty of a company that does things like this. The top is Solid Spruce, with Mahogany back and sides. Fit and finish was very nice, Zager advertises that these guitars are made to his specs by Martin, and they look almost exactly like a Martin. The electronics are more than decent, with a 4 band equalizer, but what I really like is the onboard electronic tuner.

Sound : 9
The guitar has a bright sound overall- probably because of the extra light strings Zager uses- I've always gone with a medium or medium light gauge so this is a bit new for me, but I don't think it will be difficult to get used to. The lows are still full and I'm sure with age it will sound more mellow. I have an acoustatonic amp at home but have't hooked this up to it yet,but through a little Fender 25R amp it sounds pretty nice.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This is pretty much what Zager guitars are all about- Zager modifies his guitars with his "E-Z Play" system and I must say that this is the easiest guitar in this price range I have ever played. Even had some of my guitar buddies play it (they own Gibsons), and they were impressed. I played an $800 Martin at the store that wasn't as easy to play as the Zager. As for flaws see above- this was considered by Zager to be a "B" stock guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have been a playing musician for about 48 years and although primarily a keyboard player, this guitar is making me re-invest my time in bringing my guitar playing up to speed. Everything is top notch and more than expected for a guitar in this price range.

Customer Support : 10
This is the other area that made me choose a Zager guitar. Anytime I had questions I called and spoke with a live person- and most of the calls were to the same person (name was Tony). He took his time, and answered my questions. And what really blew me away was the fact that even my "B" stock has a lifetime warranty- I was told that if that blemish changes or gets worse, that they will replace the guitar; not many companies will do that today-definately not for a $500 guitar.

Overall Rating : 10
As I said earlier I have been playing music for about 48 years (whew). I am currently the Director of Music at a large church (6000 members) and have been a working musician for almot all of those 48 years. I have owned a number of guitars and all of them brand names (Gibson,Ovation,Fender)- I have an Ovation Celebrity, A Giannini Classic, and used to have a 1970 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe(which much to my dismay was stolen). The keyboards I play at church are a Korg Triton Studio, Yamaha Motif 88, and Korg N1. So I am familiar with a quality instrument. If this guitar were lost or stolen, I would definately buy the same-( I would love to replace my Les, but can't afford the $2K price tag right now). I love the playability the most- I simply do not get hurt fingers or fatigued any more.I know that some say waht Zager does, any Luthier worth his salt can do and that's fine. He just chose to advertise it- nothing wrong with tat in my book; especially when it gets me a pretty nice guitar at less than half the price of something comparable from Martin,Takamine or Taylor.

Acoustic Electric cut away body. Full Size guitar. Guitar has a solid spruce top and laminated mahoganysides and back. Neck is mahogany. Guitar has four band EQ and tuner on board. This guitar is new and is made in the USA.

Sound : 10
This is my third guitar. Granted, I don't own a $4000 Martin, but I play with people who own Martins and Taylors. I would put the tone of this guitar up against those guitars any time. Very nice tone with good low end and nice crisp highs. The sound is very bright and good volume with very little effort. There is no need to 'overplay' on this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action is incredible on this guitar. It has been modified by Denny Zager and he clearly knows his stuff. I have compared with my other guitars and with little effort, chords are crisp and clean. With the other guitars and the same effort, they are buzzy and dead. The finish is nice as well. I prefer glossy type finishes and this one has a nice glossy finish. Spruce top has a little darker streak in it. But it kind of adds character. Playablility is absolutely top notch.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I do a little performing with this guitar and it performs nicely. I think the tuning machines may be a little under done, but everyting else is solid and durable. The strap buttons are solid. For what I do, it is a very dependable guitar.

Customer Support : 10
Customer support has been amazing. Every question, every concern is answered and promptly. The warranty is lifetime and I would fully expect them to live up to it based on my experience with the Zager company.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing casually for twenty three years and own two othe inexpensive guitars. I have a Takamanie and an Epiphone as well. This guitar is far superior to both of those guitars. There is no question that I will play this guitar exclusively. With the guys I play with, I have had the opportunity to play Taylors and Martins. I would put the tone and playability of this guitar with the Martin and better than the Taylor. I did my homework on this guitar and am fully pleased with the results. I could have stepped up to a model with a cedar top and Rosewood back, sides and neck, but overall liked the look and durability of this one. For an inexpensive guitar, this is an excellent instrument.

I am just starting on fingerpicking and own a Taylor 312 Ce but actually like this EZ-Play Zager 50ce better. Mine is the black lacquer Zad 50ce and purchased in 2005. Solid spruce Top and mahogany back, sides and neck. I do not know if back and sides are laminated or solid. Very nice built in electronics with EQ and built in tuner. (I don?t know what brand the system is. I think Zager has them specially made for him by someone. I'll get to the EQ in the sound section) Body is a traditional full size dreadnought cut-away. Bridge is rosewood as is the fingerboard. Nice looking rosette around the soundhole and a real nice matching pickguard. Beautiful flawless body binding extending up the neck. Custom nut and saddle. Tuners are sealed grovers. Neck is a very nice not to thin not to fat modern "C" that is simply a treat to wrap your hands around. Slides nice no sticky feel here. Frets are standard size and very nicely polished, crowned and leveled. No trip to your luthier here to fix what isn?t broke. Came with a T-shirt and documentation and a signed picture of Mr. Zager and a new set of Martin strings. This is a simply beautiful guitar. Modified easy play system and personally signed by Mr. Zager.

Suits my style just fine. This guitar has a very balanced tone and is extremely loud but not harsh. Since I have had so many high-end guitars in the past and just sold a very flawless high end Ovation to buy the Zager, I was a bit worried when I plugged it in. I really didn?t expect much in the way of quality. Oops!!! What a surprise. Very nice well-balanced tone with little feedback. A feed back buster for stage work will be needed but you need that with any guitar at high volumes. EQ, and tuner work perfectly and the tuner, especially for a beginner, is a must and a great feature for a guitar that cost $490.00 dollars. Sound quality this guitar meets or exceeds any Martin, Yairi, Taylor, Takamine or Suits my style just fine. This guitar has a very balanced tone and is extremely loud but not harsh. Ive said it before I'll say it again. If you have money buy your $5,000 dollar Martin's to hang on the wall and look at. Tell your friends hey I got a $5,000 dollar Martin or Taylor or whatever. Buy a Zager to pay.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Well here is where Zager kicks everyone?s ass. No trips to the luthier to get this guitar to play right. It?s in tune and perfect right out of the box. The reason? Denny plays these before he ships them and if they are not right they go in the bone pile. The others well, they raise the action until the problem goes away and leave it to the poor customer to fix, if it even can be fixed. I have read a million excuses why high end guitar makers ship guitars that play like crap but it boils down to pure laziness. Give me your five grand and you deal with it. Not with the Zager. I will say I have bought two Zager's and the first one, a modified Washburn, had lower action then the 50ce. This is not to say the 50ce is high by any means but it?s a bit higher then I like. About a quarter and a dime at 14. To many this is not high at all and some are likely thinking what the hell is this guy talking about. The low register area where most acoustic songs are played is simply perfect. The nice thing is I can do a little saddle work and fix the problem because Dennis hand files, crowns and levels the frets before the axe goes out so lowering the action will be a no problem at home fix for me. (I think) The guitars finish is simply flawless. No runs in the finish, no binding errors no nothing. I am one anal individual and you can believe I have examined this guitar from one end to the other. I simply can't find a thing wrong with its appearance. Simply gorgeous. Inside? No glue anywhere! Very nicely braced. Looks as clean inside as it does outside. I raised the action issue with Denny Jr and he said hell send it back no questions asked. Name me a guitar maker that will do that. I of course am not going to send it back. Gets a nine only because of my personal taste. This is for action only. Everything else is a solid ten. What Dennis does with the string spacing is wonderful. I have large fingers and I always find I'm running into myself playing other guitars. The Zager system solves this problem. If you are a beginner a Zager is simply a must have item to learn with. If you are a pro enjoy shocking your friends with their high-end stuff. I personally like the sound of the 50ce better then the 80ce. Its a much fuller rich sound to my ears.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I can't imagine this guitar not holding up to stage work. It's a rock solid work of art that will just get better with age. If it doesn?t guess what. I can send it back no questions asked its got a life time guarantee. The other's well my experience is they will blame the problem on you and you are screwed. Strap buttons are solid and the guitar hangs very nice strapped when standing. Very comfortable. Finsih is applied very nicely and I don't expect it to wear much with use.

Customer Support : 10
Again this is an area where Zager wipes all the others off the map. You can call these folks and talk with them. You will get a personal immediate response to your e-mails not some form auto response. Who else does this? Almost no one in the market today. To the guy that said the Zager folks are vague and won't answer questions. BULLSHIT. He must work for a high-end guitar company or he simply isn?t telling the truth. Certainly Dennis isn?t going to detail his exact string science system. Why would he? He and his son will answer accurately all your questions to the point of giving their patent pending secrets away. If you have a problem they WILL make it right. I think these few negative comments are a simple matter of jealousy or buyers remorse. They paid 5 grand for an instrument and then picked up a Zager and it met or exceeded what they bought and they are pissed at themselves. Another thing Zager does is give you a nice discount if you are a return customer. Who does that?

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 30 years off and on. I have owned high-end Ovations, Yairi's and about everything in-between. I have played almost every high end guitar out there. If my Zager was stolen I would replace it. I won't say exactly what would happen to the poor bastard that stole it but it isn't good. Look folks I'm not here to say that Zager's are simply the best guitar on the planet at any price. I am here to say that you absolutely can't buy a guitar today that plays, sounds and looks any better then a Zager for what you spend. Hell you can spend thousands and not get a better guitar. I bought my son one of these and his playing has improved ten fold. Why? Because he plays the hell out of it. He can practice longer with more intensity because his fingers and hands don't hurt after a half-hour. Zager's are guitars you can play not fight!! Do I work for Zager? Nope. Did I get a free guitar for writing this review? Nope. I spent the time on this because I believe in their product and I want everyone to experience the joy of playing music with a quality instrument that you don't have to spend an arm and a leg for.

This is an acoustic/electric guitar. I am not sure of the country it was made, but after construction it is hand modified in the USA by Denny Zager. It has a 4 band EQ on the electronics as well as volume. Solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood bridge/fretboard. Natural finish (very high gloss, very nice), sealed tuners.

Sound : 10
I play mostly fingerpicking acoustic stuff on this guitar, with some chords. It is very nice, especially when playing the highs.

It has a pickup, but I don't have an amp for it right now, so I can't comment on how it sounds plugged in, but acoustically, it is the best mahogany bodied guitar there is. I've compared it against my friend's Takamine which cost hundreds more, and other mahogany guitars at the guitar store. This one takes the cake. Obviously rosewood bodied guitars have more deep end.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action is INCREDIBLY low! Denny does a great job at fine tuning his guitars. No problems with the finish.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Yes to all the questions. Very durable.

Customer Support : 10
They are amazing! I had a problem with the saddle, they paid the shipping costs for me to send it to them, made me a new saddle, then paid to ship it back to me. They reply to emails within minutes and are very nice.

It is exactly what you would expect from a family owned company

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing about 5 years. I have a Stellar 12 string guitar and an Ibanez electric. I am very happy with it. The action is super low and the extra space between the strings is very nice! Like I said earlier, I have compared it to numerous guitars and it beats out every other similar (in wood, not price) guitar.

I would definatly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great guitar for the money!

Have yet to play it plugged in. I play alot of finger style and finger picking so the wider neck really helps out so I don't deaden strings with my short fat fingers. For a $600 Guitar the sound is extremely (almost suprisingly) good. I picked the ZAD 50 CE for its bright highs but decent base (and oh yeah price I am a bit thin on cash).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The setup was the best I have ever had on a guitar. This was my fourth guitar. The guitar holds its tune very well up and down the neck. I have never held any guitar with a lower action. The only time I get string buzz is if pick with long arm swings instead of with my wrist (get a little drunk or rowdy while playing you should get a guitar with a higher action). The spruce top has a minor blemish but I did not buy it for looks. I wanted to be able to play for more than 30 minutes without my fingers bleeding!. The G (3rd) string buzzed a little but I tweaked the neck adjustment and all is well. I rating this a "10" for the action above all else!

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have never been in a band. Just backyard partys. I have yet to polish this guitar and she still looks new. I can see it lasting for a good long time. I see no reason not to use it for live playing.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed warranty. Most questions are already answered accurately by the website. I have traded emails with the company and always get a prompt reply

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing on and off for several years. Own an Alvarez and a Yamaha Classical acoustics. I was shopping high end Taylors and Martins before finding this guitar. I have no disillusions about making it in the music biz so I really could not justify $1500-$3000 for a decent guitar. As it turns out all you need is $600 and you can have a nice guitar that will fit the bill for a long time.

Simply wonderful guitar. Denny Zager modifies these guitars, essentially minimizing the distance between strings and frets, and providing enough distance between strings, which makes it very comfortable to play. It has a crystal clear, bright sound. There's absolutely nothing I dislike about it. The guitar sounds like some models that cost 4 times as much.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Guitar was almost usable out-of-the-box (just required a little tuning adjustment, which is normal of course). It was firmly packaged, no flaws at all.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is a guitar you can depend on: its made out of solid materials, and gives a solid impression.

Emails were responded to quickly, the shipping was very punctual. Some surprise gifts (extra strings, ...) were included with the guitar.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar for about 4 years now, and I've had this model for about a week. I'm absolutely amazed with the quality, certainly for the price I paid it. If it got stolen or lost, I'd buy a new one immediately. I'm very happy about the service offered by Denny & Dennis Zager: they respond to emails almost immediately, and the guitar was shipped perfectly on time (even a day early).

WOW! is a good word for it... they respond to all emails usually within a few hours, they include free strings, a shirt, and some other cool stuff with your order... they are top notch

I picked up guitar around 8 months ago... I worked the hell out of a cheap acoustic and my fingers to get where I am now. I sure wish I had this guitar since the begining... It's scarey to think how far I would be right now if I did. I've owned my ZAD-50CE for less than 2 weeks and have already doubled the number of songs I can play. This thing litterally took me to a whole new level. I'll be buying a ZAD-80CE in the future im sure

I think I've found the only guitar company I'm ever going to deal with, if they didnt make a better model... I would go as far to say that this is the last guitar I'll ever own.

the ZAD50CE sounds as good or better than any other guitar that I have tried. I am a beginner and I have a Yahama guitar that I was having trouble playing. the ZAD50CE is a lot easier to play and it sounds better than my Yahama. There is nothing that I dislike about this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The finish on the ZAD50CE was amazing and it has the lowest action that I have ever seen. Everthing was as it was advertized.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I think this guitar will last me for the rest of my life, it comes with a lifetime warranty. I see no problems with the fit and finish of this guitar. I think it is a guitar that you can depend on.

Customer Support : 10
In dealing with Zager guitar I couldn't ask for more friendly people to deal with. They answered all my questions and were very helpful in helping me choose the guitar that I needed. It has a lifetime warranty and I don't think that I would have any problem getting any repair done if needed.

Overall Rating : 10
I am a beginner and I have Yahama accoustic/electric. The ZAD50CE is much easier to play and the action is very low. I would buy another Zager guitar if anything were to happen to this one. I love how easy it is for me to form a cord and not have the sore fingers like I did with the Yahama. The guitar is a thing of beauty, the finish is great. If you are tired of trying to play the guitar you have now, try a Zager guitar, you'll love it.

Zager is an independant Company with excellent quality control. This Accoustic/electric I just picked up is a gem. The pre-amp is awsume sounding and the guitar itself is sweet. I am a writer/producer and care about sound and playing only but this guitar looks great also. I paid $450 plus shipping. If I were to but a Taylor or Martin equal to this i would have to pay $1500 or above. in these days buying a brand name that has been around for a while you have to hand pick it to be sure you will be getting what you paid for and then you are paying 50% for the name. I wish there were more companys out there with this kind of integrity, then buying an instrument would not be such an ordeal every time. They have a solid customer in me. I would buy another guitar from them in aheart-beat.

hand fitted frets; abakibe inlay rosette; mahogany sides and back; spruce top; sunburst finsih; Electronics are active and include, high/mid/low/volume/and presence controls, and a built in tuner.
The only feature missing that I would like to have is a neck mounted

Sound : 9
The guitar has a full bright sound without sounding tinny. The advantage of this sound is it carries well without being amplified and is very good when being played with non amplified instruments such as banjos, etc.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Construction and action are the keynotes of Zager guitars. This is one catagory that rates a full 10 of both Zager guitars I have purchased.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This is one catagory that I cannot speak of from persona experience as I have just purchased the guitar. I can only state what appears to be and what I believe except for the first item. I have used the guitar on two gigs with no problems, albiet connecting the strap on the neck with leather ties. Can I depend on it? Yes, I believe so.

Customer Support : 9
I can only say that in my experience, Zager is the best guitar company I have ever delt with. Qualifying that with, in the past I have only delt with authorized dealers. And everyone knows that any warranty on anything is only as good as the dealer.
However, dealing with Zager eliminates that problem.
The warranty is life time. P. S. When dealing with Zager Guitar, you do not deal with telephone menues, but a real person.

The Zager ZAD 50CE is an acoustic electric cutaway with excellent electronics, presence, treble, mid, and bass EQ and an installed tuner. This tuner is an excellent feature, very convenient.

Sound : 10
The sound is beautiful I play pop/rock covers and suits this style well. Extremely low action without buzzes, takes very little finger strenght to play cleanly. Sounds comparable to Martins that cost a thousand dollars more but is still easier to play. Extra light strings lighter than I'm used to but do not seem to compromise the tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action is this guitars greatist feature. Extremely low. My cutaway is black and could not be more beautiful.

My primary guitars I own/play are a Gibson SG, a Gibson Les Paul and a fender Tele Plus but needed good reliable acoustic. I've found it. I don't think there is a better acoustic guitar for the money. If I lost it I'd buy another right away.

I bought my Zager guitar about a week ago and have played it many times since. the manufacturer claimed his guitar is top quality and would play easier. He did not exagerate, it is a quality instrument and now I am playing chords, well, that I could not with my other guitar. The materials used to construct the Zager are beautiful, and I especially like the fresh aroma of the new wood inside the soundhole. An added bonus is the tuner installed on the body, I used it right away and have never tuned a guitar with such speed. For the same money I could have bought any of the bigger name brands, like Martin, Johnson, Gibson and others. Indeed I did try all those brands of guitars, just a month or so ago. I made the right choice by buying a Zager.

Sound : 10
My Zager suits itself well to my music style. I especially like fingerpicking. I have not tried the electric part of the guitar because I do not have an amp. One quality of my guitar that was noticable immediately is the full and bright sound, including the sustain that it has.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The Zager was set up well when I received it, and the crafstmanship of the guitar is great

Reliability/Durability : 10
Everything on my guitar is quality and I have no doubt that if used professionally it would hold up. If performing would I carry a backup? I believe I would with any guitar.

Customer Support : 10
The relations I have had with the company that sold my guitar have been good. The warrenty is 100%, but I did not buy the guitar for the warrenty, I bought it because I felt confident that the guitar was good.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing the guitar since 1970. If stolen I would but a Zager guitar again. I love that I have finally bought a quality guitar. I think the tuner is a good feature for me. As stated, there were other guitars I tried, Martin, gibson, Taylor, Alvaraz, Ovation and others. I spent a lot of time at Guitar City trying out guitars. I chose the Zager because they did a good job convincing me their guitars are good. I guess the warrenty did come into play too. If the guitar did not measure up, the option to send it back was reassuring.

I purchased the Zager ZAD 50CE from Zager's website and have been very pleased with the guitar. It has a solid top, mahogany back. I figured I would get a one or two line sentence from one of the employees. But, Denny Zager himself, emailed me and provided detailed differences in how both are built and how the sound will differ. I was VERY impressed with that- to have the owner of a company take the time to email a customer. The warranty is life-time, you can't beat that!

I've played guitar for 40 years, off and on. Never have played professionally, except in high school bands..But, I've enjoyed playing for years.. If it were stolen, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. I love the quality, the sound, the look, everything about it. Not to mention the excellent Zager case that I bought.

I have wanted to learn to play guitar since I was very young. Finally, I have that chance. As I know almost nothing about guitars, please bear with me. I purchased a new, 2005 Zager Zad-50CE acoustic guitar. It is made from a handpicked blank from the same company which makes Martin guitars and has a rosewood neck, mohogany body and a clear pine or spruce top, I am not sure which. I do not know what pickups it has or their configuration, but I am sure that Denny Zager knows what he is doing. As an acoustic the electronics can be in either passive or active mode. My guitar is a cutaway with a clear polished finish which shows off the beauty of the natural wood. Tuners are Grover and the guitar comes with a built in digital processing ClearWave 10 tuner. Both the nut and the bridge are custom filed to lower the height of the strings to the frets, making it easier to play without the callouses which must be otherwise earned. I am in hopes that this will give me an advantage to stay with it, as I tried before and only felt frustrated. The guitar arrived in perfect condition (I inspected it very closely for cracks chips and defects), in tune (tuned perfectly when it left their shop)
and ready to be played (no setup required). Included were signed certificate of authenticity, extra set of strings, two picks, allen wrench and a Zager t-shirt.

Sound : 8
As I am a beginner, I do not know how much I can tell you but as to say that my guitar sounds very clear and bright. I did plug it into a amp that one of my sons has(he wants to learn to play bass guitar) and there was no vibrations or humming. I do love its mellow tones. It reminds me of the old simon and garfunkel sounds.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
My guitar felt nice, sounded wonderful and was in magnificent condition right out of the box. I did notice right away that the string were farther apart(stance) and I could fit my fingers on one string at a time rather than the guitars I tried before, which I refer to as the fat finger syndrome. I could not find one thing wrong with it.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
My guitar appears to be very well built. Hardware very durable. It does not have strap buttons but was told there are instructions for precise placement of the buttons to get the usability of straps without interfereing with the integrity of the guitar or its sound.
I have no experience with any guitars durability, but never the less I will be using this one full time and will let you know how it holds up.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have no experience in this area except to say when I have e-mailed a question to them I do get a response the same day.

I am a beginner. But I am also thrifty. I checked out many guitars, many ads and figured I should buy a cheap guitar(e-bay has them as low as 30 dollars) until I was sure that I could learn. I saw Zager's ad on e-bay, EZ PLAY, no sore fingers, wider string stance, and gave it a read. I then read through his website and I understood what he was saying. Yet, $495 vs $30 to $100. For a beginner it was a no brainer. Buy cheap and when you quit your not out much! I continued to look, but constantly went back to his website. Finally, I decided that if it was worth it to me to learn, I wanted to get as much advantage as I can. I will be happy to let you know if it is worth it. E-mail me to get an update.

She's a beauty. Cutaway style, Clearwave 10 electronics, neck melts into my hand. The fret action is unbelievable and easy to play. I hardly have to press down. Has a built in tuner that works great! Has a natural color on the body with a satin finish. Has pearl white thin pinstripe around the body. Around the edge the color is maple...JUST B-E-A-T-I-F-u-L!!!!

Sound : 10
My style of music is Contemporary Christian and I am able to play several different rifs and strumming patterns. The sound is incredible. The full sound is like a dream. I have a friend who has a Taylor 210 Series and he came by and played my Zager and he was totally blown away. I once wanted a Taylor but now...I'll spend thousands less and play my better quality Zager ZAD-50ce...I will probably start collecting Zagers. No DISLIKES found here, except I wish I were already better at playing my Zager??

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
My ZAD-50CE came ready to play right out of the box. I have no complaints. The Zager people really know how to do customer service!!!

Reliability/Durability : 10
I will never have to buy another guitar again or will I want to unless it is to buy more Zagers??? WHich I most likely will!!!!

Very prompt with e-mail responses...I have a lifetime waranty that I fret not that the Zagers will stand by there products!!

I have only been playing seriously since I got my Zager. I find myself not wanting to put it down.
I love the sound, the beauty, the workmanship, the quality personel at Zager and I will tell everyone I know to buy a Zager before buying some other guitar that is way over priced and the sound is lesser quality than MY Zager ZAD-50CE...KEEP up the GREAT work Denny and gang!!!

I purchased a black Zager 50CE Acoustic Electric. This guitar is solid, like its spruce top. Grover Tuners, Abalone Inlays, Hand-Carved custom nut & saddle, HAND-FILED frets, Black gloss finish. This is one sweet lookin' guitar. I might put wheels on it and cruise Hollywood Blvd.

Sound : 10
Out of the box the sound is bright. I'm studying country pickin as well as rhythm. Chords ring clear and true. I have a Fender Twin Reverb Amp (tube) and Digitech Processor so the electric sound variations are quite numerous. But like I say, out of the box sitting under my favorite tree is just fine.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I am an artist. Very fussy and particular about workmanship. This guitar is a very fine bit of workmanship. Denny Zager is obviously an artist at what he does. The action is smooth. He hand carves the nut and saddle and hand files the frets. The guitar doesn't leave his studio until its as perfect as can be.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Every aspect of this instrument is solid and dependable. I'd have no problem doing a gig without a backup other than being worried someone would find this guitar worthy of a theft attempt.

Customer Support : 10
I was concerned about buying a guitar I couldn't actually try first. I happened on Denny Zager's site by chance. I was at another makers site and an EZ-Play tune up got my attention and wola, I'm the happy owner of a Zager. It's got a lifetime warranty, and if you get it and don't like it you send it back and get 100% of your money back! It's a No Brainer man. Can't do wrong. And no problem calling the studio and talking to the folks. It's all good.

Overall Rating : 10
If my Zager up and left me I'd get another one with an anchor.

The cutaway guitar was hand modified by Denny Zager and consists of a solid spruce top, mahogany sides and back and rosewood fret board. It includes a built in built in electronics and digital tuner, which I was very impressed with.

Sound : 10
The guitar is an acoustic/electric, but I mainly use it without an amp. It has a bright sound and my friends who own Taylors and Martins say it has a pleasant blend of both sounds.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is perfect. I read the reviews of how Denny Zager modifies all the guitars to make them more playable but had to experience to fully understand how much easier it is to play than others I've played. I have a friend who plays an expensive high end guitar and after playing mine, he said that it was the first guitar he was ever able to finish playing a difficult song on. He mentioned that he was never able to finish the song on other guitars because his fingers would hurt too much by the end because of so many bar chords.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I don't play much publicly. Maybe just for worship at church but I've played Taylors and Martins and the people in my church own them as well (+$2000). They played mine and the word spread like wildfire... at least 5 people are considering buying from Zager.

Customer Support : 10
The customer support is incredible. I sent an email asking about the guitar and received a response within the hour. I've never dealt with a music company that was this personal and patient. Also, with a lifetime warranty, I can't see how you can go wrong.

Overall Rating : 10
It's a beautiful guitar and the sound is incredible and it seems unbelievable that such a great guitar could be so inexpensive. I didn't believe it at first but the company has a 30 day money back guarantee and they pay for the shipping on the return if you don't like it. This is the best guitar company I've ever dealt with and if the Martin company trusts Mr. Zager to modify their guitars, I think that says a lot.

I recently purchased a new (2005) Zager ZAD50CE acoustic electric with a solid spruce top and mahogony back and sides. It has onboard electronics and EQ along with onboard tuner. It has a natural gloss finish and Grover tuners. The neck is thin and easy to manage.I did not request a case or starp.

Sound : 10
It has a clear crisp sound with no buzzing and easy finger movement.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This is a string action dream. I've never had a guitar with this good a quality string action. You can tell it was made by Martin from its looks and wood quality. No flaws found.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This appears to be a guitar with plenty of staying power and I intend to have it for my lifetime.

Customer Support : 9
This guitar has a lifetime warranty and for any reason tou are guaranteed your money back. I have spoken with the company owner's son and have had nothing but positive contacts.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 37 years but only as an amatuer, not professionally. I have 7 guitars total, 3 of which are 12 strings. I had chosen 12 strings because of the melody they lend to themselves. This is the best playing 6 string I've had the pleasure to play. It rates right up there with the $1700.00 Gibson I recently purhcased.
I would definitely replace it if something happened that I should lose it. I might be talked into going to the next model, a ZAD80CE

This is a beautiful solid wood guitar, full dreadnaught with solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides. It also comes with an onboard tuner and electronics, even a built in transducer It features Rosewood fretboard and bridge, and abalone rosette around the soundhole, tortoise shell pick guard, and has totally sealed "grover" tuners. The neck is slim and easy for small hands. the strings are set up so even fat fingers can hot the chords without deadening strings

Sound : 10
I play mostly contemporary Christian and worship music. It has a full, warm sound, not harsh at all, nothing I don't like about it at all. I use capos quite abit and even capoed down in the higher frets the sound remains constant, warm and full, don't you love that!? No string buzz or slapping strings, just pure beautiful sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is incredible, your fingers slide up and down the neck effortlessly and the chord changes almost seem to transtion themselves! I believe this guitar could make anybodys playing sound good! Denny's string science is amazing and a joy to play!!!
The finish is beautiful, I don't see any flaws at all, it is a quality instrument, beautiful to behold.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar will last my lifetime, in fact it will probably get willed to my grandson who is learning to play. The finish seems solid and sturdy, this is quality!

Customer Support : 10
The service it fabulous, phone calls and emails returned immediately and I mean immediately. I have never waited more than 15 minutes for a response to an email or phone call, wish all companies backed up their product like this. They desire to see you the customer happy, wow, what a concept! The guitar comes with a 30 day money back guarantee and a lifetime warranty. Beat that!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for almost 3 years now. I also own a Seagull folk guitar and an Avalon silver series, they will be on the shelf now! If it wer lost or stolen or stepped on (heaven forbid!) I would purchase another without hesitation. I love everything about it, mostly the playability and the sound. I compared it to Taylors,Martins my choices happened to be over 2 grand, ouch! This sounds better in my opinion and plays easier too! If anyone is looking for a quality guitar with great sound and incredible action, this woul be the guitar of choice, and without breaking the back or going into hock! Check it out. I have been looking for that "perfect" guitar. Well, I found it, you can play a full strum and you can fingerpick all with ease and no compromise to the sound, this is a dream come true.

My new guitar is a 2005 zager guitar from there company in Lincoln Nebraska. It is a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides with rosewood fret board and bridge. Has abolone inlay rosette. Has sealed Grover tuners and has hand carved custom nut and saddle .
It is a full size dreadnought with cutaway. It has a natural gloss finish. It has a built in transducer and onboard electronics and equalizer and electronic tuner with LCD. It came with extra strings, picks, hex tool and t_shirt. And autographed picture of Zager and Evans from the hit song "In the year 2525" I bought it for the easy play string science and am not disapointed one bit with the way it plays, It made me a better player, and 100 percent guarantee, not bad...

Love the low action and wider spaced strings, Its a beautiful guitar. I priced a lot of guitars for my price range and this is the one I chose.

This is a guitar built to Denny Zager's specs I believe by Samick.
It is a full sized acoustic electric dreadnought with a super high gloss on a solid spruce top and mahogany sides. It comes with sealed Grover tuners.

Sound : 10
It has great presence. Mid range ,bass and treble are great. Deep and rich.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was set up using Denny's easy play system. I have never played a guitar with the strings so low! On unpacking the guitar after a 1500 mile trip to me ,all I had to tune was an eight turn on the high e string!
I looked over the guitar and could not find one flaw.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The quality is great . I would depend on this guitar .You have to play one to understand. Kinda just fits!

Customer Support : 10
When you buy one of these Zager's you deal directly with Denny or his son. They are available either on line 24/7 ,or on the phone during business hours.
Yhey gaurantee their guitars completetly.
I have had no reason to test this .

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing off and on for thirty years.
This is my first acoustic other than a borrowed blue ridge.
I have had a 57 strat, and several samick guitars.
If this one was lost I would replace it with another as soon I could.
Denny's easy play system gives you a guitar that you can play for hours without the tired finger feeling. It is a joy to play.

5 band EQ with built in tuner (cool feature). mahogany body spruce top, dreadnought w/cutaway. Imagine it was made in asia, fitted in Nebraska. Grover tuners. Thin neck but about a 1 3/4 width and strings have been spread ever so slightly for fingerstyle and you can definitely feel the difference. Nice finish, acoustically sound but cosmetically unremarkable spruce, very nice grained mahogany for the price range.

Sound : 8
The best $500 range sounding guitar I have ever played or heard. Bright, clear. Zero buzzes which is remarkable becuase of the suicidally low action.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action unbelievable for an acoustic. The action increases the volume of hammers and pulls by itself. No finger fatigue. After only playing nylon strings for six months in an effort to train my fingers to the wider classical neck, I hopped back on this steel stringer and played for 4 hours before my fingers began to hurt. I have never had that experience and I have played for 38 years on Guilds, Martins, Taylors, Epi's, Gibsons...

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
It seems solid enough. The light strings and action are more suitable for fingerstyle than punding with a pick so tuning onstage might be an issue for the wrong style.

Customer Support : 10
Best of any company in any business I have every experienced. 100% money back guarantees including freight both ways. Almost instant e-mail support and phone support.

Overall Rating : 9
I am 49 and have played the guitar now for 38 years. For a while in my 20's I played semi-professionally, lounge gigs, weddings, etc. but quit because, in addition to the smoke in the air, I hit a wall with my playing and couldn't figure out how to get past that. If I couldn't be what I felt was a "pro-level" player I would just accept the guitar as a pleasurable hobby. But I love guitars and I have had several top brand name guitars whose equivalents now run in the thousands of dollars.

My new Zager guitar is, without question, an instrument that could possibly have gotten me over my "wall". It is the easiest playing steel stringed acoustic guitar I have ever held. All of a sudden I was hitting notes cleanly, every time. I had been fiddling with only nylon / classicals for quite a while because I wasn't playing enough to toughen up my fingers. I hadn't touched a steel string in 6 months. My fingers finally got sore the first day on my Zager... after FOUR hours! And it sounds GREAT! I pulled 4 guitars out and played them all and the Zager was the brightest, cleanest, most room filling of the bunch.

I've given beginner lessons over the years, so for newbies I have a question: Are you at the stage where you are first learning "bar" (sp) chords and are frustrated? You will be able to play them on a Zager!

For anyone who is looking for a new guitar, unless you insist on paying $2000 or more to have an heirloom, (that you will inevitably scratch up), try one of these. Then, after you receive it and have played it for a couple days go find the finest guitar room you can and play the best they have to offer. In bang for the buck quality I have never seen anything like this. I told my wife about it but didn't tell her the price and, as I played it, she was thinking, "oh no, he's gone and spent a thousand dollars". Mine was under $500 delivered! 100% money back guarantee including freight both ways? Unheard of! And extras thrown in!

In the Year 2525 perhaps all guitar companies will make as good an instrument, for as reasonable a price, and will back it up with the extent of customer service you receive from the Zagers. I can't wait to get back at it tonight!

The moment I picked up the Zad 50 CE ,I could tell the difference from the guitar I was using. The finish was acceptable as well as it's construction. It arrived in tune.

Made in 2004, 20 Frets, Solid Top, All Electronics, Transparent Finish Buffed to a nice Luster, Thin Neck, EZ Modified for a Low Action... Very easy on the fingers with Extra Light Strings.. I played this custom guitar next to a $2,000.00 Taylor and it held it's own. The action on my Zager guitar was much better than the Taylor. The Taylor is a very fine instrument but for the money, I'll take the Zager Custom Guitar ZAD-50CE anyday...

Sound : 10
I'm into Gospel and Country Music and the ZAD-50CE does this type of music very well... I've only played it acustically so far. It's never been plugged in as of yet... I can't find one flaw in this guitar and it's got a Life Time Warranty...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The Zager Family sure know what they are doing when it comes to setting up the guitar. I've never held or played a guitar with such light action... The Nut and Saddle have been fine tuned and along with the proper neck adjustment, the strings are very low and the action is great... All Of this and NO BUZZ!!!!

Reliability/Durability : 10
The Guitar is new to me for now... It sure seems to be a solid piece of equipment... Several of my friends have played this guitar and can't believe this much quality for such a resonable price...

Customer Support : 10
This area is where the company has out shined all others for me... They have great support with their telephone lines (Toll Free), They have E-Mail that they respond to, unlike others I've dealt with and they even have LIVE ONLINE CHAT for questions.... Try and top that... The Warranty is LIFE TIME.... If it Ever has a defect, it must have been flawed from the get go and they'll refund or exchange.

Overall Rating : 10
I've only been playing for a little over 2 years and I have 2 other guitars that I've since given to the grand children... Yes, I'd purchase this guitar again if it was stolen... It's sound is so rich and clean.. It's very easy on the fingers to play... I like the way the strings have been spaced a little wider for my large fingers... I compared it to a Fender, Taylor and Alvarez.. It beats them all but it's a close race in sound with the Taylor...
