ATS BS2x12CH

BS2x12CH it is the new bass enlosure from ATS, one of the best builder of bass systems. It has 2x12" custom woofer and a tweeter with adjustable level pad from -10 to +10 db.
800w rms on 4 ohm, 102 db sensitivity, and a usable frequency from 30 to 22.000 hertz, 2 speakon connectors are some of its characteristics and these are already good ones, but the best has to come...
Its power it is much more than sufficient even for gig in open spaces and stadiums and even if there are only 2 woofer, the sound pressure it is enormous!
The same moment I saw it I decided I needed to try to play it and after few minutes of playing... I decided to buy it!

I play rock, swing and some ethnic music and for these different styles I was searching for a rig that would be able to give me punch, warm, but even to follow me in some soft "fretless songs". I was searching for a system able to let my basses to be heard exactly with their own sound and this enclosure do it really well!
I play Fender Jazz fretless, Pedulla thunderbolt 5, Sandberg Ken Tqaylor Six strings, G&L L2500 and everyone has its own voice on this enclosure, especially if you use it with an HiFi head as Glockenlang!
I can say that this enclosure do exactly the job it has to do, in a marvellous way! It is loud and punchy, but only when you wnat it. It does not colour the sound of your basses and have an exagerate response in the full range of the notes, from the lowB to the high C and more.
You can hear perfectly the lowest notes and the highest harmonics, with a definition and a punch I've never heard before!
You can bring it to its maximum power without loosing definition. Each note you do it is clear and full. oh, you must play very well, because every wrong note or wrong position of the fingers is heard pefectly clear on this enclosure! This can help everyone in studying much more! LOL
However, if you wnat distorted sound, you can use a Sansamp or other similar stuffs being sure that the pure sound will get out of the enclosure: clean sounds are really clean even at the highest volumes and dirty ones are dirty even at the lowest ones.
Surely if you have a low price bass with no sustain or few low ends, this enclossure will never cover its faults.... but if you have an high end bass, this enclosure it's one of the best choices for you!

Now I'm usign it with a Yorkville Bassmaster, waiting for a GK 1001RBII and even with the Yorkville it sounds great, but the best will be with the GK.... I can hardly wait!

This enclosure it is really well build, with solid wood and hardware.
Nad the warranty it is 24 months. It is bouil to to be long lasting and to be used in big gigs. I've buyed it only few days ago, but I think that it will be difficult to break it!
In small pubs I don't use it, but a Combo Markbass 121 modified with an ATS custom woofer...(450w rms and the same fast and loud response due to the custom woofer!!!) that is easier to carry than this rig, even because the enclosure give its best when you pump some hundred watts into it!

Great support! You can write or phone to ATS and you're sure that Enrico (the boss) will answer directly to your questions in a really short time, solving all your problems and giving some precious tecnical advice to use your rig at its best, owing to the head you're using. Great!

I played for 5 years in the past, after I stopper oplaying for almost 20 years and now I started playing again since 2005.
As I told I have a Combo Markbass mini 121 modified with an ATS custom Woofer. Sometimes I use directly an EBS Microbass II in the PA, for short apparitions in other groups' gigs.
I would buy the same one if stolen, because it is the most versatile and clear, definite and powerful enclosure I've ever used!
I had two Hartke VX 410 and there is no comparison, I've tried a lot of other brands, Ashdown, Ampeg, Aguilar, PEavey, Mesa Boogie and no one of them satisfied my needs. Now I'm curious to compare this 2x12+GK1001 whit those ampeg refrigerators 8x10 (with their SVT4pro obviously) to see if there is so much difference in dBs... I'm sure I would discover to have the same loud voice with much more definition of sound.... LOL!!!
