This was the first Whappo Grande made by AccuGroove. While it was used as a demo for the winter NAMM show in 2003, I am and have been its sole owner.

This is a 21" subwoofer, designed to reproduce notes down to 22 or 23 hertz. It is rated to 800 watts and weighs in at around 87 pounds.

I play in wildly diverse styles from one night to the next and this cab gives me the muscle I need to reach a crowd no matter what I'm playing. Its response is nearly quick enough to use as a stand alone!

Sound Quality : 10
My basses are passive, neck-through 8 strings, tuned in fourths from a low F# to a high F natural. My pickups are Bartolini and Areo soapbars.

I can play ostinato lines on my lowest strings and this bad boy trancks them more cleanly than any octave divider on the planet.

It is clean and quiet, but it's like a sonic weapon. A friend and fellow bassist described slap lines coming through this speaker as similar to catching a shotgun blast in the chest.

Reliability : 10
I have seen Bill Dickens slapping unbelieveably aggressively through this cab and I have gigged with it mercilessly since I got it. It has endured all climates and seasons with elan.

Customer Support : 10
Mark Wright and David Innis of AccuGroove are amazing. They're prompt, courteous, and helpful when returning calls and emails. I have never had any problems with the speaker, but the warranty is great and I know that the AccuGroove guys are there for me.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing professionally for more than 20 years. Previously, I used Gallien-Kruger, Guild-Hartke, SWR, and a handful of other brands. There is nothing on the market which comes even remotely close to AccuGroove.

If anything ever happened to this speaker, I would not hesitate to replace it with the same thing.
