Plug and play, it's a cabinet. 4x10 in either 4 or 8ohm. Good manual. You can adjust the mid and high. Are known to eat alot of juice. I have the 4 ohm version and am putting 1Kw into it. It eats it up and will send out enough clear low end when maxxed out to near shake the fillings out of my teeth.

I use a few 4 stringers powered up with a Carvin R-1000 and ocasionally some effects. This thing puts out a very clear, uncoloured sound at any level. If you've got a good sounding bass it'll sing through my cab.

I've had it only 4 months and it hasn't failed me yet :) When I first recieved it I threw everything I could at it. I had an active bass boosted up with some effects and putting every ounce of the 1000 watts availible into it and it sounded awesome. It actually overheated the amp. After everything cooled down and the fuse in the amp reset itself the B-4 came out unscathed and sounding great.

overall the b4 sounds great, takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. If you have any spastic budies they'll delight in the fact that when driving the b4 hard in a dark room the little light bulb fuse will glow off and on in various intensities and be visible when looking at the cabinet, thus bieng called little disco lights.

Normally, you'd say, "Hey, it's a bass cab, how hard can it be?" But this cabinet offers attenuators for the mid range speaker AND the tweeter. That said, it's a piece of cake. The controls themselves have a real solid feel and a nice taper to them (more on that below). Also provides neutrik connectors as well as 1/4". Very handy. You can order the connectors in whatever configuration you like, as well as select the ohm load. I chose 4 over 8 and recommend that load as these cabs are power hungry. The manual as noted previously is also great and something I'd like to see more of. Not just explaining the ins and outs of the cab, but design philosophies, etc. Really informative.

Amazing. My default sound is an F (Furlanetto) Bass 6 string through either a Line6 POD Pro or a Demeter preamp into a Mackie. I also use a fretless F Bass 5 string and various custom made 4s. I also throw some whacked out effects at this cab from time to time. When I say amazing sound let me explain. There are 4x10s with a 5" mid range driver and an additional tweeter for highs above that range. Basically a 3 way crossover. This cabinet is super-hifi and very flat. I ran some CDs through it and they gave my Mackie HR824 reference monitors a run for their money. You can get a super-clean tone that goes from sub sonic to dog level highs. If you have a crappy bass or amp you will hear it. If you dig the frequency bumps you get from most cabinets - especially older ones - you probably won't dig this cab. But I came from playing 2 (!) EV 2x15 cabs and I was looking for big bottom for a long time. This is it. SWR Big Bertha - crap. Bag End - lame. Ampeg - mud city. This cab has big, clear fundamental tone with all the mids and highs you can handle. If you've got passive pick-ups, or a high gain sound, you may want to turn down the tweeter. That said, this cab is a great match for the Line 6, as it will seamlessly reproduce the sound of whatever rig you program. I recommend it highly for Line 6 users or anyone who is really interested in getting pure bass tone from hands and axe to ears. Note: It's no secret that these amps use a lot of power. You will need at least 500 watts into a 4 ohm cab.

All of a sudden my sound went from amazing to farty and quiet. I couldn't figure it out. I called Acme and spoke to Andy, the designer and builder (it's pretty much a one man shop). I had spoken to him when I ordered the cab and he was just as courteous and knowledgable as I remembered. Although it sounded weird, he recommended that I replace the light bulb fuse protector for the mid speaker. I thought he was wacked because I could see that it would still light when close to overload. He said this had happened once before, so I gave it a try. I also didn't want to ship it to Colorado for repairs. In a way I'm glad it happened because it gave me a chance to check out the cabs. As someone who has spent a lot of time with their head in many a bass cab and bass amp I was impressed. Very high quality workmanship. Turned out, he was right and I was wrong. With a 50 cent light bulb replacement from Mannny, Moe and Jack's I was back in business. Been working like a champ ever since. I do keep a spare light bulb with me right next to my amp fuses though.

As I mentioned above, you'll probably speak to Andy if you call and he is as nice as they come. You can't beat dealing directly with the guy who designs and builds your gear.

As good as it gets. I am ordering a second cabinet. If you have a really nice bass and play well, running your rig through this cab will turn heads. Even people you play with that are familiar with your sound (especially them). It sounds like you are pulling your sound out of some kind of tone bog and into crystal clear big bottomed funkiness. I've been doing this for 22 years and I've never heard better.

The manual for this cabinet is very informative. It even tells you what to look for when purchasing a new cabinet, and cabinet design. It informs you what to do if you encounter any distortion, power recomendations, even how to clean it.

No other speaker cabinet I have heard or used compares when it comes to tone or looks. I'm currently using a Carvin Rsp preamp with a Carvin HT1000 Power amp. It handles the 1000w with ease. It has a 5" midrange speaker as well as a high pwr horn. This combo makes the
Acme Low B-4 sound much better than any other 4x10 cabinet.
