Made in the early 70s. Two channels w/ 2 inputs, bright switch, volume/bass/treble each channel, two speaker outs, line out, 100 watts of solid state power. i run it through a no-name cab with two 12" JBL speakers or an Ampeg cab with one 15". It doesn't need a lot of fancy gimmicks cause it sounds great the way it is.

Classic bass tone, nice round lows, perfect for old blues and R&B. I use a Fender Jazz bass with Seymour duncan pickups and it sounds killer, especially through the 15" cab. I turn the ttreble way back on the bass and the amp so it don't sound harsh.

Here's the bummer. The four power transistors are located on the outside of the aluminum chassis but inside the cabinet where there's no airflow. Apparently the chassis is supposed to act as a heatsink but in the 10 years I've owned this thing it's gone through two sets of transistors. They're not expensive to replace but it's a pain. I guess i could cut a hole in the cabinent over the transistors put some sort of vent over it and that might help it. Also one of the channels quit working. It is thirty years old though. i stopped using it for gigs after the transistors blew up on stage, which is a drag because it sounds so good.

When it blew up I was able to get a schematic from a guy in California who used to work for Acoustic control corporation. Now there's a couple web sites that have schematics for these amps. A couple of years ago Samick reissued the Acoustic 360 but then they dropped it. I think all they make now is Acoustic PA equipment. Any good guitar tech should be able to fix this thing though.

I've been playing 17 years and this is one of the best sounding amps I've had next to my Ampeg B2R. If it wasn't for the power transistors I'd have no complaints.

No idea when it was made. Sounds really good for a solid state amp. Both channels have dual inputs I am not sure why. Seems fairly loud. Not a ton of EQ on it.

I was playing a 1975 Gibson Grabber. I will still stick to my tube amp after this though, it will make a good backup amp.

I spent about 200 servicing this amp to working condition, we'll see how it holds up.

The amp is pretty basic, Vol, treble and bass controls with a bright switch on each of the 2 channels

I use a standard tuned p bass in one channel and a '65 Hoyer violin bass (tuned b,e,a,g) in the other channel. I drive 1 or 2, 2x15 ampeg cabs(depending on the gig).
The head faithfully reproduces the low B with vigor
Pretty clean, but could use more mids (both basses are passive)

The 150b is really simple, two channels, volume, bass, treble, brightswitch, and that's about it. On the back are two outputs, a booster output, and a 1/4" footswitch jack (wherever that thing is...). A midrange knob would be nice, but for the majority of playing it's allright. I get moderate volume out of it with my 2x10 homebuilt, I could often use a little more, though, I like to play up-front sound-wise.

I use a rickenbacker 4001, and its strong points are pretty well utilized by this amp. At high volume it distorts a bit, I think this is due to some old war-wound that I just haven't found. The amp is probably thirty-something years old. The limited knobs really limit the kinds of sounds one can make. For a great while I just maxed everything, and it worked all right.

Aside from the mild distortion at high volumes, no problems, ever. I recently built a cab and with all the wiring I was bumbling around with I probably short circuted the thing a few times and it didn't even phase it. And the stinking thing is light!

I've been playing since 95 and have had this amp almost as long. If everything goes well, I'll be buying an acoustic 360 preamp and powered cab for something like $300 soon. My plan with that is to stack my 150 on top of the 360, run the output from the preamp to the input of the 150, and have the 150 drive my 2X10 for high end (which will be, of course, stacked on top of the 150) and let the 360 pull bottom. Other configurations of this would allow me to run the fuzz chanel on the 360 while the 2 10's played clean. The possibilities are endless!

Early 70's model, works fine for me because I am a basic blues and classic rock player, and I don't need lots of doo dads to get the sound I want. it is kinda bare bones, each channel has volume, treble, bass and a bright switch. I play small to medium size clubs and it works fine with the Yamaha 215L cabinet loaded with JBL E140's.

I have an Ibanez outlaw bass, a challanger, which is a Jazz style body with a Pbass width and feel neck. The original pickups were japaneese crap, so I installed Dimarizo stecked humbucker Jazz bass pickups in it and wired them directly to their respective volume pots, and bypassed the tone control. I play with no effects treble dead center, bass at about 3/4, bright switch off. I hold down the bottom adn let the guitarist dazzle the audience. Damn, aren't I a guitar player's dream? It does a good job for 125 watts, with the JBL's wired up at 4 ohms. I get all the volume I need with almost no distortion. You can

This is where this amp shines. I have owned it for 26 years without the benefit of a case, and the original plywood cabinet got beaten completely off. I used it in that condition with the electronics exposed (facing the bottom) for a couple of years and figured that the amp deserved to have a cabinet, so I built it a new one. If acoustic was still in business I would write them and tell them about this amp, it is simply indestructable. I had it repaired one time and it was the wiring harness connector to one of the channels had gotten dirty and was not making good contact. We hard soldered the wires to the board and it has not hiccuped since then. Oh yeah, i replaced the power cord once too. I would rate it a 20 on a scale of 1-10.
