The Acoustic 330 I own was made in 1976, standard guitar head model (master volume & reverb). Its power and tones are extremely versatile (2ohm min powers 300 watts) and can accomodate bass, guitar, or keyboard.

After playing vintage Ampeg SVTs for years, this amp made me a believer in 1970s solid-state transistor technology, which is, from the best of my knowledge, a far cry from todays more common solid-state garbage.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a Fender Precision with an array of effects. I also have a Strat that I play on occasion. They both sound great out of the 330, weather I use a 4x12, 2x12 or 8x10. The amp produces 300 watts @ 2ohms, I usually run it through an 8ohm cabinet, which cuts into the output to a fair degree, however the volume can still stand up to most tube amps.

If you've ever checked out Led Zeppelin or Weather Report you can get a good idea about the tone.

Reliability : 10
The 330 is extremely dependable. No tubes make for a simpler and less expensive fix if need be.

Solid State 300 watt guitar/bass preamp and amplifier. Two channels. EQ and reverb for each channel. 1/4" inserts for effects loops. Built in 1976. Has channel switching but needs a very funky proprietary footswitch - which I do not own - to operate properly. One can switch channels by rocker switches on the face of the amp but having the footswitch would clearly be better for live work. Basically this is a 360 head with a 300 watt (at 2 ohms) amp - minus the distortion circuit that's on the 360. Very cool.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using this amp with a Fender Jazz bass that has flat wound strings on it thru a 4 ohm Eden 2x10 bass cab. Big, punchy sound that's small and compact in size and weight. Perfect for gigging. Set the preamp to 2 and the amp to 5 and you have all the power you need. Shakes the windows, rattles the floors and walls. Could indeed kill your fish if turned up too much!

Reliability : 9
Has needed some soldering done from time to time on switches - otherwise solid as a rock.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Company long gone - so no opinion.

Overall Rating : 10
This is a great piece of gear. Solid, reliable with great tone. Can be used a a preamp for recording with excellent results. Will keep this one for life.
