I bought this 2X15 cab to go with a 450 head. The serial number indicates it was made in 1974. The castors will be a big bonus if I can find replacements. Too heavy to mention. Solid as a rock though, I fairly easily repaired the vinyl and it looks nearly as good as new. Nice design and looks impressive on stage. This has more power than I will ever need, running at 4ohms off the 450 head.

With the 450 head I can be as loud as a 747 with little distortion or go into some beautiful subtle harmonic feedback spaces that i can meditate to for hours in my motel rooms. Great at any volume. I have an RCF and a 300W Sammi installed in the box - JBL's are a bit too large. With the solid cabinet the whole box plays on this baby. Just really clean and bonerattling deep bass [passive or active pups]
If i want to use the 450 head for guitar, I prefer my Marshall 1960 TV reissue.

This cab was manufactures in 1974 and had obviously been in and out of trucks for most of those years. Repairs were easy and the overall condition is VG+. The speakers were not original but I cannot imagine anything going wrong with this thing apart from deliberate abuse or accident. With the 450 head which is still easily servicable [if anything ever did go wrong]I can't see needing anything else for years.

I've been playing since I was 15 and that was the year of Woodstock - you do the maths. If it were lost or stolen I would hope to find another one, and pray for the person who stole it. Being so bulletproof there are still quite a few Acoustic cabs around if you are prepared to look.
Currently most people are into small combos with cheap electronics. I use a Fender Bassman Compact[1982 I think] at home for practice and I would rate the tonal quality very similar.
I chose this simply because I played a used 450 head in a shop one day and the sound blew me away, especially with a strat. I just had to find an Acoustic cabinet after that experience so I could hear what the bass would sound like - I am not disappointed.
This brute will still be honking long after modern rigs are on the tip and I'm sure that big will be beautiful again one day, and when that happens everyone will want one.
My back and I only wish it had the original castors - still looking.:
