This amp was manufactured in 2009. The combo has one channel, with active and passive inputs. I use only the passive, as I play trough a mahogany Cort Actionbass with Bartolini pickups. Feature wise, it really shines in its offering of tone control. The controls include, frequency, which is a sweeping frequency control, gain, master, lo lo-mid, mid, and high. I use all controls at 12:00 o'clock straight up, and I get a very bottomy, crunchy tone. The tone section is very versatile and allows for a lot of combinations of tones.. I'm really amazed how many tones I can get out of this little gem!
There is a line out on the back panel, and I run that into the mains and through the front and monitors. I use this in a combo using backing tracks, guitar bass and vocals, and we play loud sometimes in the clubs. This amp gets loud, but to crank it up it approaches the edge of its abilty to supply volume. But what the heck, it's $249 and 100 watts.. you wouldn't get that sort of value 10 years ago!

I use a Cort Actionbass which was made in the same factory as the Ibanez SR series basses. Very similar to the GSR200 that goes for around $200. I added two Bartolini pups, one p-bass and one j-bass. They run wide open together and the Acoustic provides a very crunchy, clear bottomy sound. We play modern country rock, old 80's rock, and sometimes rat pack. The room we're playing is a long narrow hall, and not very good acoustically. The beauty of the B100 is I was able to tweak the sound according to the room. At first I wasn't impresed with the amp, but as I tried various settings, the amp has slowly turned into a monster in its own right! Love it now! With the Barts, this amp produces a sharp, bottomy strong, full bottom end and fills the stage with great presence. As I turn up the re, there is a controlled, punchy touch of overdrive that is very pleasant and a desirable tone. I've had musicians come up to me and tell me they love the sound of my new setup. I agree!

I've been using the amp only a couple weeks, and already popped the plug out of my bass by accident, causing a very loud hum from the cable sitting on the floor. Didn't affect the amp at all. The amp is very solidly built. Heavy, deep, and all parts fit well.

Haven't had to use them yet, if this takes after it's namesake, I should have a reliable keeper for years.

I've been playing for 40 years. I'm still a regular performer, and have tried out all the well known brands and off brands. I've owned one model of every major brand since 1970 and every year my amps get smaller and smaller. I wouldn't go smaller than this, but this little amp is a gem, a keeper, if it doesn't die in a year. I love the razor sharp, but controlled overdrive and bottom end this littl monster produces. There's nothing about it I hate. Before buying this one, I tried the Ampegs, Markbass, Fenders, Behringers, etc. etc. at GC and this one kept sticking out in my mind. I could have afforded any combo up to 1000 but chose this one because it's awesome tone kept coming up in my mind. I also own an old Peavey combo that is smaller but quite loud, been running since 1986! My advice, buy this amp and try it out live, but keep your settings pretty flat, then add small amounts of tone control to suit your tastes. Don't crank it before you know how the tone works, you could probably kill the speaker. Buy it, you won't be disappointed for the money. None of the other brands can touch this bad boy for the money.
