Pretty standard features for a cab of this type: recessed handles, tweeter attenuator, 1 Speakon + 2 1/4" jacks. Casters come with it and those are very handy (goodbye, hand truck). For 70 lbs, this thing is pretty easy to manage.
A second Speakon would be nice for daisy chaining. But I have the 4 ohm version so I probably won't be doing much of that.

This cab worked great in a variety of situations. Almost as massive a low-end as my Acme but more focused, never boomy. (And there's WAY less draw on the power amp!) There's a subtle but very useful bump in the mids that really helps with the mix. Too soft, I can still hear myself. Too loud and I'm still not killing everyone else. Very forgiving that way. The highs aren't quite what I'm used to but it works just fine for slapping. I've never had it this good before!

I give the 10 to Acme for its military-spec construction. I'd throw that thing in the back of the tour van and let the other guys pile their crap all over it. The Aguilar, I'd prefer to use the optional padded cover before doing that. Construction is on a par with Eden, SWR. I don't expect any problems.

For me, (freelancing, doing moderately loud funk at the most) this is the perfect standalone cabinet. Not too cumbersome but it sounds great, works super well in the mix. No 2x10 can match this box for lows with headroom.

2x12" drivers, tweeter w/level, 1/4" and speakon inputs, dual front ports, handles, casters, 600 watts, 4 ohms, 70 lbs.
For a really good comprimise on everything a person could want out of a cabinet, this is hard to beat. It's not huge or bulky but also not puny and wimpy looking. It's easy to transport, it's loud and handles a lot of power but also has a good overall tone.

Going into this cabinet:
Warwick Thumb bass
Fender Jazz bass
Ampeg preamp
Mackie poweramp
I'm impressed with the GS212. It can handle a lot of different styles of music very well. I know there's a lot of jazz, funk, pop, and country bassists using these cabinets but for the bluesy southern metal band I play in, I haven't heard anything better. It provides a HUGE low end foundation with a lot of low-mid punch, a if you're not sure what warm high frequencies sound like, play through this.

It's pretty solid feeling and sounding. It can handle a lot of power and it's lighter than most 4x10's and 1x15's so I expect a lot of years out of this one.

Great website and they provide information on older, out-of-production products which you don't see too often.
Other than that, I haven't had any contact with them.

I've played for over a decade and tried my hand at several different styles of music, somehow defacing the name of each respective genre along the way. It's the only experience I've had playing through 12" speakers but they really do seem to provide the definition of 10's and the depth of 15's all in one package.
Aguilar stuff does seem to be a bit expensive but from what I've seen, they don't seem to lose their value like other high end stuff does. You can buy an Epifani cabinet for $1200 and turn around to sell it and only get $800 for it. So...compared to other cabinets I've played through, if I had to sell all my cabinets but one, this would be the one to keep.

I got it used but in perfect condition. Has 1/4" and Speakon connectors, 2 12", tweeter w/L-pad, 2 ports, and a rugged black metal grill. Sturdy plastic locking corners and recessed metal handles on the side. handles 600W RMS @8 Ohms.

I play a Peavy T-40 w/ passive pickups. This goes through an Ampeg SVP pre and QSC 1400 amp. The QSC puts out a rated 600W continous bridged to 8 Ohms. The SVP/QSC combo seems like a good match for this cab, I have yet to push the Aguilar too far and I have a fair amount of headroom leftover. If I were to do it again I would probably go with a little heftier power just to avoid clipping which the QSC tends to do easily. This cab likes clean power. It will shake the foundation when fed right. The horn can be a little unruly, but the L-pad helps, and with a lot of tweaking I was able to get natural and mellow sound out of it with almost no separation. The clean sounds are perfect, couldn't ask for better. Brutally overdriven sounds seem almost too articulated, making the cab sound raspier than I would like, but I think this cab handles any other tone combo with grace.

I have only heard good things about Aguilar cabs and in the 8 months I've owned it, it's been a champ. I'm not worried at all.

I have been playing bass for about a year after playing guitar for many years. Most of the other gear I've played on was Peavey, so it's not surprising that I am thouroughly impressed with the Aguilar cab. If it were stolen I would probably get another, maybe a GS410 instead though. With one cab I have the volume and tone I need for almost any situation. This cab will last me a long time, I'm glad I bought it. I wouldn't buy new though, at $900 it's a little too pricey for my budget, but if you can find a used at a good price it's worth every penny.

I was always looking for a creamy deep bass sound. This cabinet is more than I ever expected. I use it with a ashdown abm-rmp-1 and a mackie 1400i. It was exactly the sound that I was looking for. I play all styles from funk to country rock. I play loud and it has to be clean. aguilar does not disappoint. PS you can also get a very aggressive hard rock sound from this cab.

This is a 2002 4 Ohm 600 watt RMS bass cabinet with 2 12" speakers (proprietary-made for them by Eminence) and a phenolic tweeter. It has an attenuator knob for the tweeter and 1/4" and Neutrik connectors on the back. It comes with pop out casters and it only weighs 70lbs. I also got the optional cover which is absolutely luxurious - padded and red velvet lined.

I am using an Ampeg SVT3 Pro head and occasionally a Tech 21 Bass Compactor for a touch on compression and as an overall volume control for my passice basses. No effects. I use a bunch of basses, all 4 string - Ken Smith BSR Elite, Alembic Mark King Standard, custom Jazz with Aero p/u's and J-Retro pre, Warmoth w/EMG P/J, '76 Precision w/Harmonic Design p/u and Raven Labs PB-1 pre, Hamer USA Cruise w/ Sadowky p/u's, Music Man Sterling w/Lane Poor p/u and Bartolini pre, Warwick Corvette FNA Jazzman and a Reverand Rumblefish. If that isn't a cross section of electronics....and I can only say this cab absolutely kicks ass with ALL OF THEM! I'm in a semi-pro dance band and we do it all, from clubs to weddings to outdoor park gigs, from Sinatra to Sly Stone, and this cab handles everything cleanly. Especially the outdoor stuff. That was a concern for me since I'm only using one cab and not running through the P.A. I'm able to get the mellow and clean tones I need with excellent definition and still pop out some spank! It handles the SVT with ease - I've never come close to maxing it out. These 12's really cover all the bases between 10's and 15's. I rarely slap, but it's there if I need it. I can't say enough about the versatility of this cab.

This cabinet is built like the sh*thouse of proverb. They make it out of 7 ply void free mahogany. No worries here.

I only emailed them once for info on the type of speakers they used and replacement availability. They got back to me the next day. The cabinet comes with a 3 year limited warranty.

I've been playing 30+ years. See above for my gear. I'd be heartbroken if this cxabinet was stolen and I'd get another one the next day. I love its versatility and volume capability, and I really appreciate the fact that I can haul it up a couple of flights of stairs without help when I have to. We do a lot of different venues and this is a BIG plus. I had an Eden 212XLT for a while and it was good but nothing like this. The Eden projected out so that it was tough to get a feel for the sound unless you were out in the audience - this cab's sound is very immediate and comes across with great definition. This is the cab if you're only using one.
