From what I can find out this amp was made in the middle 60's. It must be fairly rare since I can't find out too much about it. The Tolex on both the cab and head is black. The speaker cloth on the cab is a blue/black speckled material. The head also has a decorative piece of this same material running full length under the control panel. There are 2 channels and both have their own volume, bass and treble controls. Each channel has 2 inputs. There is also a line reverse switch and an amber power-on light. This amp is huge, bigger than the old Fender Bassmans. The head is 27" wide, 10" deep and 8" high. It houses 4-6L6's and 3-12AX7's. These are not the original tubes. The cabinet's size makes transporting prohibitive. Dimensions are 27" wide, 12" deep and 51" high. It houses 2-15" speakers. I'm not sure who made the speakers since I've never taken the cab apart. Needless to say this amp is loud!

I'm not a bass player but I do run my guitars into a Digitech 3000 and then into the amp. It has that great tube sound and very easily handles any effect that I put into it.

I've had the amp for several years without any problems. It's too darn big to take to gigs so it has a pretty easy life here in the studio.

Valco and Airline are both long gone so warranty is a non-issue. I don't have a schematic for it but I'm sure any tech worth his salt could probably fix any problems.

I've been playing guitar for 40+ years but I am not a bass player so this is really the only piece of bass equipment that I have. If something were to happen to this amp I'd miss it but would enjoy the extra room I would have in the studio. :-)
