I bought this used for $110 from a local music store here in Orlando, FL. I have a Peavy TNT 115, but I needed a smaller amplifier to play smaller venues and with smaller groups that was easy to transport, and I found this Ampeg amp used. I was not a fan of Ampeg amplifiers. Over the years I found them to be muddy and not they didn't have a very focused sound, but for the price I had to try it. I immediately loved the 5 position style switch. Without even playing with the tone controls I liked experimenting with this switch to see all the different tones I could get. Then I would play around with the tone controls in addition to the style switch and found all kinds of different settings that I liked. I could get a meaty bass tone to a nice light jazz tone. In addition to that, it has stero "in" RCA inputs that the controls on the amp have no effect on. This allows me to practice with a CD or my Ipod through the amp without the controls affecting the sound of the recordings I am practicing with. This makes practice very convenient. I also use this amp with my acoustic/electric guitar. I just add a reverb effect to it and it sounds just fine for me. I am not really a guitar player, I just like to play around with guitar.

I use a Sound Gear 6 string bass made by Ibanez. It has the ADX stock pickups. I also have a Carlo Robelli inexpensive acoustic bass I like using when I am playing certain gigs. I also use a Digitech BP-80 bass effects pedal, though a lot of the time I like to use the amp without the pedal. I get a lot of versatility without the pedal, but with the pedal I can get unlimited tones and sounds. The only drawback on this amp is that sometimes the volume is just not enough. At those times I will usually beef up the volume with my pedal or just move to my Peavy Amp.

As I have said, I bought it used so I don't know any of the history of it, but I know I have not had any trouble with it. I rehearse, practice and play gigs on it every week. So all I can say is, "So far, so good."

To be honest, I am a sax player. I was a sax major in college, but I put myself through college playing gigs on bass. I have played bass for about 30 years now, so I know bass and bass equipment. And I know this amp is a fine piece of equipment. If it was ever stolen or lost I would have to buy another one. In fact I like it so much that I am thinking about trying out the BA-15 to see if I want to replace my Peavy with it. I have tried other amps of this size just to see if I could find anything better. I believe I have found several amps that were equal...and maybe a couple that are a little better, but none that I could have bought for the price that I got this one for. Nor any that were so far above this one that I would justify replacing this one.

I got this used from guitar center last week. I was looking for 1x12" bass amp that I can easily carry around for my gigs. I gig ~2 times a week (trio band with electric bass). Not sure what year it was made (couldn't figure out from the serial#). But it's made in USA - I know that Ampeg now are made in China. They also have 30 day return policy. That is the reason why I decided to buy it anyway. I wish it has XLR line out and eliminate head phone out as other reviewers mentioned.

I play a lot of beatles, stones, the who, .. to early 80's that we re-arranged a bit for our trio band. This fits to my style very well. I used Warwick Corvette Standard (passive) bass. First, when I tried at home pluging my bass in directly I feel it lack of response and sustain. And the volume is not so great. So I decided to use my BlueTube pre-amp to help increase the gain of my passsive bass a little (still using 0db input). Then, I was like "WOW" I found my tone from this little box. All response, sustain and volume are much much better. My band mates couldn't stop talking about my bass sound when I bring it in for the first gig. The big point that I like about this amp is that it handles the low end (well project) so well that you feel like you are play much bigger amp. I always set the tone type selector to "flat" and shape my tone with the 3 band EQ which works perfectly. I recommend active bass for this amp. If you don't have one, use external pre-amp to help like I did. It works great for me! Now, it is a keeper.

Don't know yet. It seems very solid so far. I also don't gig at too high volume (~5). This will last for a long while I guess (based on other reviewers). I however, bring my J station (digital bass amp mod) to all my gigs for backup (plug in PA if needed).

I've been play for 25 years, mainly guitar. Recently played more bass for low volume band (more gigs). I own fender hotrod deluxe all tube amp and 6 electric guitars and 2 basses. This is the 1st bass amp I bought (been using my hotrod for bass). If it were stolen, I would try find it used (made in USA) again.

This little dumplin' has all I need...good controls, line out, headphones out, inputs for both passive and active electronics, great tone adjustment, a "style" selection knob plus a CD input (that I've never used) plus it's lightweight. An XLR line out would be nice, but it's worked fine for me using the 1/4" phono plug line out. I love the tilt-back cabinet. It's got everything that I require, but it doesn't walk in and set itself up, so I'm just giving it a 9 (besides that, the instructions for this review says not to leave "superficial, glowing" reviews..so i gotta' find something to complain about),

Before I bought it, I played through a lot of other new amps and nothing came close. I also played the BA-115 and it wasn't even in the ball park compared to this amp. The tone I like just wasn't there. It's clean and plenty loud for me. I've played Fender Precision basses through it (my old '63 model and my 2004 Hwy 1..both completely stock) and a Music Man Sub bass that I owned a couple of months, but traded it back for the Hwy 1 precision. I play mostly dance gigs... country, blues, light rock and it fits everything fine. It offers any tone I can imagine wanting to use. It's LOUD for a little amp. For large rooms, I've always run it through a P.A. system, but have used it in fairly large rooms with no help at all.

It was made in the U.S.A. (I wouldn't buy anything else), but I'm not sure they're made here at this time.I've had it 6 years (bought it new) and have had absolutely no problems....0, Zilch, Nada. It's my only bass amp and I gig with it with no backup and never given a thought to having it fail.

I've been playing bass over 40 years and have owned vintage tubed Fender Bassman, Bassman 10, Showman, Ampeg flip-top amp etc., but for the money I'd have to spend for one these days, I'd call this little ampeg a bargain. I can't imagine wanting anything more, unless it would be a second BA-112 to use as a slave for the other side of the bandstand. I love everything about this amp and would find another if anything happened to this one. If they're no longer made in the U.S.A, then I'd find a used one that was.

The amp does plenty for the price, however I'm a spoiled and never satisfied musician...
As others have mentioned, a balanced output would be nice. A bit more power could have helped, as well as an extension speaker out. The only other feature that I think that would have been nice, is some form of built-in compression.

This is the bottom line...this amp sounds really good. This amp makes my Fender Jazz punch and sing like no other. Very nice, that's why I bought it.
My only problem with this amp is the headroom. I can never quite get loud enough. I'm not trying to play gigs with this amp mind you, I'm just talking about small room band rehearsals with drums. What I've noticed, is to get the sound I like most with this amp, requires that I use position 1 on the selector switch, and I cut the mid-EQ fairly significantly. I find that a lot of the volume of this amp is tied to the mid-control. The more I cut the mids, the less overall volume I get.
The good news about this amp, is that the mids sound really smooth, and so I like the sound overall so much, that I've been willing to add more mids, especially in circumstances where I just need a little bit more volume to ring out in the band during practice sessions. A little compromise doesn't hurt sometimes...

I've been playing for 20 years and played on and through a bunch of different stuff. I play a Fender Jazz right now, with DP123 DiMarzio pickups. I have been using SWR stuff for loud gigs, however I bought this Ampeg a few years ago mainly for portability to band practices.
Overall this is a simple amp. It's small and built to be affordable. It has plenty of features for the price, but because this amp sounds so good, you really want it to do more.
I can honestly say that this amp helps me to make music. It makes my bass sound really nice, and for me that's the bottom line!

This is where I went into shock. I play all passive basses. I already own an Ampeg rig and know what they sound like. That's why I own it. I have several smaller practice amps. I had trouble sleeping with practice amps near my bed that were not Ampeg and always wanted one with the big @ in the upper left hand corner. I set out on a mission to replace them all with an Ampeg. Bought a used BA-112 expecting it to be a basic 112. WRONG! This little monster sounds fantastic. The style selector is the best feature. It goes from deep and low to clean and bright as hell. But, the best part is in between. That is where I found my sweet spot with this amp. This little bastard child can sound more tube-like than I would have ever dreamed. Warm, warm warm....mmmmmmhhhaaaa. It is impressive.

I had better things to spend my cash on. Sometimes in this short life though one realizes that one deserves something a little extra now and then. So, I got something I did not need and am damned glad I did. My Ampeg BA-112 is my new toy. I love this amp and at my age plan to own it forever. I have played on and off for well over 20 years and have learned a little bit about tone along the way. IMO this amp can easily go from Peavey to Eden and then hit it's peak at the Ampeg tone. I could not be happier and knowing now what I do, would pay full price for it's quality sound. (Remember this)- Ampeg's are much better than women for atleast two reasons. They are a hell of a lot more reliable and you never grow tired of listening to them. (don't use that line on your woman though, or it prove itself to be true!):-)

I know what you are thinking , the ba 112 is a bass amp. your right, but it is also a wonderfull guitar rig to. The ba 112 has a very good low end punch a lot of us guitar guys love ,and it also has a nice chimy high end sparkle. I am not saying its equvalent to fender bassman in the ranks of crossover rigs, but I realy think it offers more than many guitar amps do. for example I recently played a $500.oo fender solid state job ,that was thi years model. there was no comparison at all . THe fender sounded thin and harsh at all settings . The ba 112 onthe other hand has all the warmth of your average tube amp,non offensive treble, and great mid response. the fender (which I think was a dsp chouros 212) had no mid response . Many of you may not like what I am about to say, but the closest amp in comparison I can think of is a silverface princeton.

I have been playing for 15 years, and have a had tons of good gear. This is the only bass amp I have ever owned,(it was bought for my bass) and one day I decided to plug my tele into it and ive been playing thruogh it ever since.I might add it is only realy good when played clean, or with a little distortion. Too much pedal distortion makes the solid state sound come out of it. Clean ,it sounds as good as most tube amps, and better than almost ALL solid state amps. Iuse a blues driver for just a little crunch , and as a volume boost. sounds great with my strat ,tele , and agile lp/with p 90's. It is veary versatile for what it is,and if stolen I would get another. beats EVERY peavey GUITAR AMP i know of.

Facts: 50 watt, 1-12" speaker, 5 preset eq switch, bass, mids, treble, volume. 0db, -15db, and RCA inputs. Unbalanced line out, headphone out. Limiter. Tilt-back cabinet. 39lbs.
Opinions: Plenty of volume for practice and probably for many gigs as well. I would love to see a version with 100 watts and an XLR out without having to go up in size and weight to a BA-115. Also, for me, the amp would be better equipped to eliminate the RCA inputs in favor of an XLR out -- this would probably balance out cost-wise and would make the amp more professional.

:

For it's size and weight, it sounds very good. It's quite versatile and the 5 presets make it a breeze to dial in a tone you are looking for. I compared it to the GK backline 10" & 12" models (which couldn't handle low-end very well and had a completely useless "gain" channel), Hartke A35 (This amp was very impressive and I almost bought it).
Additionally, I own a Carvin PB100-10 which is 100 watts with a 10" speaker and weights in at 36lbs. The Carvin sounds really good too, but needs to be repaired.
Anyway, back to the BA-112... Really a good sounding amp with good output and low-end handling. Don't let the 50 watts bother you -- a 100 watt amp is really only 3db louder -- significant but not huge...

To sum things up, I had almost certainly decided on a Hartke A35 for a practice amp and I stumbled across this brand new BA-112 at Guitar Center for $199 -- same exact price as the Hartke. The Ampeg usually sells for $350+, so I couldn't pass it by.
That being said, while the Hartke sounds better and handles low-end better than the GK backline 10" or 12" models, the Ampeg is a step up into another class -- beyond a practice amp into the realm of amps that could be used for performance... For the same $199, it was an easy choice and if you come across the same deal, I urge you to not pass it up. For $199, there is nothing I am aware of that is even close.

This amp was made in 2001, love the style selector switch it saves me a ton of time in eq'ing. also the RCA conectors are a big plus for hooking up a cd player, and the tilt back feature is also very nice. In my humble opinion by far the best practice amp for the money.
It has also been awesome for playing gig's with my jazz quartet its awesome for small venues and playing with lots of acoustic instruments.
For my Rock/Funk/R&B gigs I do have a big rig with plenty of power, but this amp rock for monitoring during those times.

I would defenely buy it again if it were lost or stolen, it's perfect for around the house and small gigs. great sound and built to last.

Bought new late in 1998, perhaps the first year of this model. I needed a small, inexpensive clean amp for a one-time solo piano gig at a place where my existing keyboard rig definitely wouldn't fit. I initially tried out some 40- and 60-watt guitar amps and even some made-for-keyboard combo amps, but they were all weak compared to this. The only features I needed were the small footprint, one input (from a choice of padded or unpadded), versatile EQ and a completely clean, sound at all volume points. The headphone out and CD-in jacks didn't matter to me when I bought it, but I'm glad to have them now rather than reverb or any other effects a guitar amp might've had. I pretty much defeat the 5-position Style switch by leaving it at 3 (flat, no boost/cut) but I credit Ampeg's thinking with respect to those who use the amp for electric bass.
Sound Quality
:

This amp is whisper-quiet, punchy and terrifically clean. Yeah, it's tailored for bass guitar but we keyboardists have been jonesin' on bass amps for years because guitar amps overcolor your keyboard's tone and a PA-system setup usually sterilizes them. Nothing beats a good compact bass amp for a small setup, if you can find one with enough power. This amp's 50 watts is cutting it close, but with a fairly flat EQ, there's no noticeable distortion at full volume and that's plenty loud anywhere I'd be using this amp instead of my regular setup.

It hasn't seen much use since I bought it, but it's been perfect so far and I am completely confident in Ampeg's inherent quality. I played guitar in bands for many years using an Ampeg V4 head that stood up to incredible demands without flinching. I suppose most of the original American amp-building techniques have given way to outsourcing and modern assembly methods, but Ampeg has a big name to uphold, so I'll trust this amp to be at least as dependable as any other new amp out there.

I played guitar and keyboard professionally for 7 years, then keyboards alone for another 15. Yep, I'm old, and old enough to have used plenty of gear, good and bad, for both long and short periods of time, respectively. For the record, I bought this amp to be used with an Alesis QS8 keyboard, set to one piano patch, for one night. What else that keyboard does and what else I own didn't figure into my decision to get this amp, so I'll leave it at that. The amp come through beautifully that night - I even had to run a mic through it for a few announcements during a break. Since then I've used it just a few times with my hollow-body Gretsch Double Anniversary (with a pedalboard) as well as my other keyboards, whenever using a small amp made sense. But honestly, I wish I had more reason to use it - it's a real winner of an amp for just about anything you can plug into it. I would certainly buy it again, though it seems every month a new made-for-keyboard combo amp is released so eventually one of them really *should* work for keyboards better than this bass amp. At this price point and small size I won't wish for it to be anything more than what it is, a very professional, straightforward and dependable workhorse amp for small gigs or rehearsal.

I don't remember when I bought it (I'm the only owner).. It's a solid state 50 watt amp with a single 12 inch speaker. It has a 3 band EQ, 5 way Db selector switch (actually great for changing up sound) but otherwise pretty basic.
This is my practice amp. And as far as practice amps go, Ampeg probably makes the best. For it's size and power, it is actually pretty loud. Its been used as my amp in small (really small) clubs.

Quite a versatile little combo. The style selector switch brings up a wide variety of great tones without tweaking. The standard tone shaping controls are there as well to dial in the precise sounds you want.
I found the rca inputs very useful for plugging my 4-track into for recording and playback. The sound quality is excellent, though volume must be controlled from the external unit. The cabinet design seems to be highly efficient- produces a lot of sound and depth for only 50 watts.

I use this amp with a steinberger XLII, a fender bass vi reissue and a fender jazz deluxe. It was able to produce deep lows, throaty mids and clear highs with each instrument. I also plug in a MXR di+ that can drive the hell out of it. The little amp really puts out. I have used it for gigging with a symphony orchestra and stage band for a variety show, and it performs like a champ. I actually tried the next model up, a BA 115 and preferred the sound of the twelve. The only limitation is that it probably is not enough sound for a rock gig where lots of volume is required. A pair of these amps would be easy to move and able to handle most gigs unless you're playing in a coliseum or outdoors without a PA.

I have been playing about 33 years- I own two Nemesis combos with 2x12's each (love the sound of 12's for bass), a Trace Elliot 350SMX head and a Sunn Coliseum cab, a Hartke 2x10. My only complaint with Ampegs over all the years I have played is they are so damn heavy (ever had to move a SVT head and cab around?) The BA-112 is light and highly efficient. I think the folks at ampeg really know what they are doing with bass gear. I wish they would produce a 2x12 combo or a 4x12 cab for bass. The speaker cover is held on by a velcro-type attachment, and it kept falling off leaving the 12 completely exposed so I had to tape it on. I don't know if that is a defect, but I wish it had a little more secure grill attachment.

As noted, ad nauseum, basic practice amp, 50 watts, 2 inputs (1 padded), 3-band tone controls with a 5-way selector switch, line and headphone outs, CD input. Tilt-back cab is a real bonus to those of us who like to use our amps as stage monitors (this was, in fact, my primary reason for buying this unit). The CD input and headphone jacks very well could save my marriage!! This would be the Holy Grail if it only had a balanced (XLR) output and extension speaker output. I will never understand why ALL amps don't have an XLR output and extension speaker output. If Rogue can offer these at their low prices, it can't be a cost issue.

I've been using an SWR Workingman's 12 in this application (I also have a Peavey Mk VIII head with 2x15" cabs for big venues)(my basses are a Warwick Corvette Jazzman, a Warwick Streamer Standard, and a Fender acoustic bass) . I'm getting MUCH better tone from the Ampeg. I know everyone likes the SWR, but I've never been able to get a great tone out of it. Of course the Ampeg doesn't have the same volume levels, but it's a good trade off under the circumstances (I "line-out" to the PA for gigs). Very versatile, plenty of tones for any style. The mids are a million times better than the SWR's. To keep from getting a horrible nasally "honk", I would have to completely scoop the SWR's midrange. With the Ampeg, I can turn the mids nearly all the way up and still have good tone.

So far, so good. There is a reason most of us end up buying solid state amps, even if we espouse the benifits of tubes. Like it or not, we're musicians, and musicians are inherently a bit lazy and apt to beat up our equipment. This amp can take it. A HUGE thumbs-up to Ampeg for including a power cord storage slot and velcro hold down. I can't count all of the times I've cussed other amp makers due to protruding or dangling power cords (another problem with my SWR).

This is my second piece from Ampeg, and I've always had good luck with SLM. Good websites, good customer service.

At $140 this was a stinkin' steal!! If I had to pay full price ($349) I'd look at a couple of other options (probably the BA-115 for another $100). Since I'm in Texas, I could surely get away with shooting the miserable &*%$#$%^*& that steals it (and would probably do so). I'd highly recommend this amp to anyone looking for a practice or small stage amp. There's a reason why Ampeg has been the choice of pros for 40 years. The stuff just sounds good!

I got this amp used, so I'm not certain what year it was made. Probably 2000. Tilt-back cabinet is a nice feature. It has 50 solid state watts, 12 inch speaker, 5 way style switch, and the usual volume and tone controls.

I use this with a Fender MIM Jazz. Mainly as practice, but I've used it live with the line out DI'ed and it works very well. My styles are jazz and classic rock/bluesy rock. The Ampeg tone is what bass is all about for these styles. And this little combo delivers. It's not enough to hold it's own in a live setting - it needs PA support. But it works perfectly as a practice amp and it does a good job for recording, too.

Based on how other Ampegs have served me, I'd say it's probably bulletproof. I've only had this for 6 months, no problems so far.

This is a very good amp for its intended purpose. It serves well as a practice combo, studio amp, or live performances in small venues with PA support. I have an Ampeg B2 combo for larger venues. In my playing career, I've been convinced that Ampegs are the standard in bass amplification.

This is a 1999 model BA-112 bass combo. I was so impressed with the power and versatility of this little combo that I had to have it! My main rig is a SVT for the low end and a Crate half-stack for the highs, but I play a lot in my church as well and needed a little amp that would have plenty of punch for stage presence without weighing a ton. This is perfect for that purpose. It has good tone controls including a 5-position style control (similar to the SVT mid), line in/line out, CD (auxiliary) RCA inputs, a hide-away cord compartment, rear port and tilt-back cabinet design which makes it perfect for use as a monitor on stage as I use it in my church setting.

I use this as a practice amp for all of my basses, and as a performance amp with a Ric 5-string in church, ran through the PA. It is very versatile, very clean, with lots of punch - surprising for such a small combo. You can actually hear this while playing with drums. The best small combo I have ever owned. A bit sterile, but to me all solid state bass amps fit that description.

I have played bass for over 25 years. I rarely have had the need for a small combo, but this one is perfect for the way I use it. I would buy another in a heartbeat. If you think it sounds like something you could use but are concerned with the size, I might recommend the BA-115 which is essentially the same only with a bit more power and a 15" driver.

Made in 1999, this amp is probably the best bang for the buck going.
It has active and passive inputs, CD in, head phone out, and line out.
No effects loop. Has a 5 position Style selector which actually sounds like its just moving the mid level adjust point. This combined with bass mids and treble control lets you get about any traditional amp sound you want. Has tiltback and rear porting.

Almost any style from slap to traditional can be acheived playing with
the controls. Fairly loud for 50 watts but will not keep up with a heavey handed drummer. The headphone out sounds a little distorted
but not to bad. Haven't tried the cd input or line out yet. Haven't
heard a a low B through it yet (have trouble counting above 4). Have
played G&L 2000, 73 Precision, Rick 4001, Carvin fretless, and Peavey T-40 through it. All sound good.

want to get the 100 watt, 15 inch BA-115 if your gonna gig with it.

Big bass sound in a small portable package is what drew me to the BA-112. I can now practise at home without disturbing anybody when I use the headphones jack. Sound shaping is accomplished with seperate bass/mid/treble settings as well as a 5-way style switch. It has a CD input that I haven't used yet. The main drawback is the lack of a balanced output however this was not a priority for me.

I play a Fender JazzBass Special with the stock pickups and sometimes a Fender Precision fretless bass. Both basses never sounded so good since I bought this amp! My J-Bass sounds really sweet with the style switch on 3 and near flat tone settings. In fact the style switch is what makes this punchy little amp so versatile. This amp is so quiet soemtimes I forget it's even on. There is absolutely no distortion even at full volume!

This one has enough features to satisfy usual playing styles. I wish it had a DI output to have more compatibilty with mixing consoles or
studio gear. But hey, it's sufficient enough (3 Band EQ, Tone style switch=4 different pre setups, Cinch Input, Line Out, Headphone Out and even 2 inputs (Not switchable) 1 with 0dB the other with -15dB for Active driven basses. This enables me to have my Fender Jazz-Bass to be on the 0dB IN and my Westone Fretless Thunder 1A (Active) on the -15dB IN without having to switch cables. Versatile enough, even though I like real switchable inputs with different soundcontrols, but that is another pricetag as well.

Compared to a Hartge Kickback 12 I used before it's much warmer in tone, more appreciated by me at least. Does not go as loud as the Hartge which had 120 Watts and it's aluminium 12" driver really kicked off but for some occations I could not get the sounds I wanted. It was simply to technical without any warmth (bad for fretless basses). Now I like this baby a lot even though my next upgrade or addition might be the B-1 from Ampeg (older model) which really is a studio amp and
has it all especially the higher price tag.

I have played bass many years ago, stopped then for a few and got back on track 2 years ago. I had the opportunity to check the new Fender Bassman series (25/60/100 Watts) and I did not like them too much. Besides they're too expensive here in Belgium.
To summerize: I like this Ampeg BA-112. It's worth the money.

Made in 1999. Versatile as all get out. Style selector pretty well sets you up with any sound you'd ever want. I do wish it had an effects loop cuz I use a Tech 21 Bass Driver that I like to just put in the return of the loop. Oh well. Headphone jack, yes, but I haven't used it. The CD In is a neat option for practicing along with a cd. I also wish it had an XLR out, but then again, it's not really a gigging amp except for very small venues. It is all solid state but you'd never know it. I guarantee I could blindfold any number of professionals and switch off between this and a tube amp and they'd never be able to tell the difference. Never. As I said, not really enough power for anything but small gigs, but if you can keep it in front of you and the drummer you might be Ok for stage volume.

Sounds awesome. I use a cheap Lyon (by Washburn) normally with just the humbucker on, and a Hamer Cruise (now there's a bass). It has almost no noise whatsoever. It can make any sound you want except distortion (you can't MAKE it distort!). From warm, deep tones, to nasally fretless Jaco tones, it does it all, and very well. My thought is that this should be THE studio recording amp now.

I've been playing about 2 years. If it were stolen or lost, I would probably get the larger 100-watt BA-115 (it's big brother) so I could gig with it better. This little guy has a lot of volume, don't get me wrong, but no one should plan on gigging with a 50-watter.
I love it's great sound and it's ease of use.
I compared it to the Hartke Kickback 12, both good, I just liked the sound of this one better, and knew the Ampeg name to be more reliable and didn't want to pay another $200 or so. Also compared it to the famous SWR Workingman's 12. I just don't get what's so great about that amp. Doesn't seem to have the range of tones and volume that it should have at the price. Maybe it's just me. Though I have gigged with some SWR head/cabinets that absolutely rock.
This is the best combo/practice/recording amp you can buy.
