This amp sounds very good, and is quite versatile. I am playing it with an upright bass that i made myself. I have played a fender american P Bass, A Fender Fretless jazz bass, and a few other basses through this amp and they all sounded great. You can really tell the tone of the guitar through this amp.

Should be solid, its 90 pounds! The head part of the combo seems a bit loose but, overall it seems sturdy.

This is one of the best sounding bass amps for the 400-600 dollar range. I've tried crate, hartke, fender, eden, Line 6, and the ampeg won hands down for deep rich bass. I was going to go with the Ampeg BA-15, which also sounded very good. The only problem is that amp hisses like crazy, although its much ligter, and almost as loud, and has the same controls (no tuner). If you are ready to buy a new amp and then open it up and start disconnecting the tweeter, then go ahead and buy the BA 15. If not, and you like hauling around 90 pounds, and you want a tuner in your amp.... then go for this one. It sounds great, even though it isn't as lound as you may expect for 220 watts.

I bought my Ampeg BA210 in April 2005 ... It sounds AMAZING!!! The only place this thing is lacking is volume. Which isn't a big deal because it only has to be loud enough for me to use it as a stage moniter because the PA system carries the load. I use it playing mostly country and southern rock doing mainly frat parties and bars. I have an American P Bass with active pick-ups. The tone I get is sweet

Here again the tone is incredible but could stand a little more power. (But then again ... is it ever loud enough?)

I ordered the amp from Musician's Friend and when it arrived it wouldn't turn on. I popped the fuse out and replaced it and now problems so far.

I have been playing full-time for 4 years. I would probably go a different direction if it were stolen simply because I am always on the look out for something new.

This amp is equiped with at built in tunner and very smart EQ. it sounds great. but It lacks one very important feature...VOLUME.
The pre amp does a very poor job of sending a strong signal to the amplifier.
When I returned/exchanged it, the sale guy told me "If you turn the gain and main to 10 you get a loud enough volume. WRONG! if this amp went to 11 it still would not be lound enough.

Very warm tone. Clean. I play funk, latin and rock. It can handle all kinds of style. Again the lack of Volume is a problem

I've been playing for 17years. I would not recomend the combo to anyone.
I exchaned it for a B2R head with a 210 ampeg classic cab.
