People at Ampeg were not in the mood to help, both receptionist and technician were short on words and rude.
It is monday morning.
You are a musical equipment manufacturer.
When do you think the problems are going to be coming in? When do musicians gig? In the weekend the speakers get blown; on Monday the musician calls, to have his rig ready to go for the next weekend.
Do we really have to spell this out guys?

Ampeg makes great sounding stuff. It is a real pity the tech support threw a wrench in the works.
Have been using their stuff since the early 70's!

4x10 + horn with 3 possition attenuater
2x 1/4" phono jack style inputs
not a lot of features but then it's a speaker box not an effects rack ;)

excellent... punches like Mike Tyson, but is as articulate as Muhammad Ali.
A solid versitile sound that works well with solid state and valve amps for agressive driving rock and pop. Works good with amp modelers like Line6 bass pod and SansAmp though it's hard to grunge out the sound by driving it too hard with out it sounding a little bit clinical.

I bough this cheap second hand from a guy who was running a 800W head with this 350W bin as his only cab he then used a boost pedal and fuzz box that he used ALL THE TIME. Given that he was using full boost on the pedals and running the amps drive and gain at 10 its no surprise that all the speakers were totally shot - torn suspension & spiders bashed forms and the coils had come off of the form. replaced all four drivers and repaired the horn it's now as good as new.
Construction is top notch but the speeker repair people said that the original speaker's spiders were not glued on sufficently but not that that would have helped save them from death by Spinal Tap volume.
Running on my modest 200W solid state and 300W valve heads with a second bin to share the load I think the speakers will last for years if looked after properly.
The box it's self is rock solid high quality construction.

A great unit - excellent build quality and sound
it's near death at it's previous owners hands only goes to show that no mater how good your equipment is it matters diddly squat if you abuse it beyond all resonable limits

This cab is a perfect match for the Ampeg B2R head you can run it at 4ohms at 350 watts or 8ohms at 200 watts. I has two input jacks from the head and a 1 inch horn with ajustable settings. When playing clean i would suggest playing with the horn off but if your going to use distortion or your taking the solo probably a better idea to either have it on at -6dp or 0-dps.

Very excellent sound the tone is a bit deep for my likeing but a little eq adjustment and you can balence that out. 350 watts of power is enough for what im doing just playing smaller venues for 100-300 people. I mainly play heavy metal and hard rock so this cab fits it pretty well.

this cab is compact in size but surprisingly heavy its like 95 pounds. overall its very good, this cab is loyd enough for what im doing and im in love with it, you could add on another one of these cabs and make it full stack but not totally vital. If this were lost i would replace it and would reccomend it to any one.

2002 ampeg 4x10 plus 1 tweeter. A switch in the back for different tweeter volumes. Two inputs for a fuller sound. Bass ports for less pressure on the cab. A 400 watt handling. I push this thing for the past year and it sounds has good as the day that i bought it. Pushing 100 to 160 watts depending on what sound i'm going for isn't even pushing the speakers but my db level from my power amp and 2 pre amps is killing my bass ocasionaly but if you don't have to go through cheap preamps and poweramps it is

I push this cab to its fullest with 2 preamps and a poweramp and i also run it through a hush c from rocktron. The only draw back that i know of this amp is that its a 4x10 and not an 8x10 but for the buck it bangs. Around in my area in all the small clubs i play at i've shook every wall and ceiling. I've had stuff fall off the ceiling and even made a lighting system fall down. I push this amp and thats the only way i get that sound. Not only that IT'S CLEAR and a smooth signal. My only draw back is that i use a crappy power amp that distorts at high volumes.Pushing 100 to 160 watts depending on what sound i'm going for isn't even pushing the speakers but my db level from my power amp and 2 pre amps is killing my bass ocasionaly but if you don't have to go through cheap preamps and poweramps it sounds amazing.

If you can't afford a 8x10 but want that huge bass sound this is your cab. You can push it and push it and push it and it will keep ticking. Ampeg is the most veristily bass sound you could get, Atleast in my experince and taste.

Mine is the BSE 410 HLF: Nice size, rugged construction, the metal grill stands up well to my toddlers. Detachable casters also nice. Unsure of cabinet construction, as far as type of wood. 2- 1/4" jacks, no speakons, but not intended for high wattage. I use this cabinet as a second one around the house, my main cab is an Ampeg 8x10. I would imagine it would do well in certain live conditions, small clubs, guitarists who use combo amps rather than half stacks. This cabinet has limitations, but it is what it is. If you're looking for a 4 x 10 to take on the road, this probably not the one for you, but for the price this is a solid piece of gear that sounds real good.

I play a Fender Jazz, a Fender P and a M/M Stingray. All are played through an Ampeg SVT Pro 3. The sound is pretty good, this little cab can really make some rumble. Lows are good and because of the horn, mids are much more crisp than my 8x10. The 4 ohm rating makes this cabinet pretty loud.

I've been playing for about 20 years now. If it were lost I'd probably spend a little more and buy something a little more pro quality, maybe to replace my 8x10. I.E. a 4x10 - 1x15 stack. The biggest attraction to this cabinet was the size, ruggedness, and good sound. It does everything I ever intended it to do and does it well.

it's a new one 2002, 400W rms under 4 ohms. not very well finished, not entirely plywood, no speakon and only 3 position attenuator. For the price, it's not great.

i play bass for twelve years,I like many styles from electro jazz to metal. The cabinet sounds very good, loud, lots of bass for a 410 a good match for my svt 3 pro (but I never tried it at maximal volume)

well this thing does'nt equal a goliath 3 enclosure, but it's cheaper, it's 4 ohm, and I think you get enough power and basses for almost everything with this cab. for those who look for a powerful and compact system. I love the sound. I don't like the (few)waves of the carpeting and the corners screwed "a la va-vite"

(BSE-410HLF) A tweeter in a bass cab is an excellent idea. It allows the listener to hear a much wider range of your sound.
It's size is just right for fitting in the back of my firebird.

I use a Peavy mark VI head amp, and an Ibanez soundgear bass. The cab puts out more than enough power, and still sounds good at max volume.
I traded in an SVT-410HE for it and I'm damn glad I did. The SVT-410HE didn't put out nearly as much.

I've played bass for about 20 years.
As far as cabinets I've owned: FENDER w/2 15", PEAVY w/2 18" & 2 10", Peavy w/1 18" & 2 10", and SVT 810.
So far overall, I think the BSE-410HLF is better.

Been playing since 1969, owned Fender and Traynor Amps. This cab is wonderful and suits my style (rock, blues and fushion). I plan to add a 1x15 or 2X12 in the future. This is a great value + US made.
