I bought this cabinet new in 2002. Not sure when it was actually manufactured. This is a bi-amp-able(?) cab that has a single 15" speaker, a pair of 8" speakers, and a horn. The 15" speaker is at an inverted/downward angle. This is the "Steve Bailey" model similar to the the "Vic Wooten" PR-1832 HE model. On this model you can use the regular 1/4" jacks/cables or the Speakon cables.

The sound of this cab is pretty amazing. You are only limited by the bass and/or amp you run through it. I play several basses through a GK 700 RB2 (bi-amped)through to this cab. I am only limited by my imagination. From really soft to really loud or anywhere in between, this cab sounds great.

I do not try to beat my stuff up too bad, intentionally. With that being said though, other than the carpet wearing a little thin here and there, this cab looks and sounds as good now as it did when I bought it. So far it has handled any volume I give it without any kind of problem. I have no need for a back up.
Customer Support
:
No Opinion
I have never had to deal with Ampeg CS department so I couldn't tell you. However that may also be a testament to quality. So far, no problems to report.

Really the only negative thing I have to say about this cab is that it is really a pain in the @$$ to move from house to practice, practice to house, house to club, etc. Granted, I am a bass player and moving heavy equipment goes with the job title. But this thing is a little cumbersome. It takes 2 people to lift the thing. Not so much that it is heavy as it is awkward. Kind of like moving an old wooden console TV. But other than that, this is the best cab I have ever played through.
