Ease of Use : 10
Plug in any kind of amp and go. Solid state, all tube, hybrid, doesn't matter. What goes in is what comes out. EQ to taste, not to overcome lumps or dips on certain notes or strings, like with other cabs. The downfire angle of the 18 seems to disperse better, like a folded horn. I mic each size speaker, if I need to go through the board.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm a lifelong bassman, and I have heard them all. 10s are punchy, but uneven. 15s are smooth, but lack the attack. 18s you can't hear on the stage. This thing sounds great when you're standing in front of it, or at the table against the back wall. The bottom is where it belongs, not in the low midrange. Almost all the highs are produced by the pair of sixes, and they are smoooooth, not hissy. Great fingerboard sounds. I use a '73 P-Bass, RW cap board, with teeny-tiny frets and T-I flatwounds. I can work the notes, bending and half lifting, and get a credible string bass sound. I play, Rock n Roll, Blues, Jazz, Country, Folk, Metal, Funk and Punk. Everything with just the two knobs on a P-Bass! I use an SVT head, but I never liked the 8-10 sound. While some people call that tone a snarl, I thought it was more of a honk, like a goose.

Reliability : 10
No problems. Grill is metal, joints are solid. Metal corners keep getting dented and ripping off, and the carpet cover has gotten thin in places. Power rating is 600 watts.

Customer Support : 10
Ampeg repair stations have always given me good honest service.

Overall Rating : 10
A hi-fi approach to bass. Works for me. I got a bigger Portaflex. Nothing else I tried sounded that good, and still put out 115db when I needed it.

No problem, plug and play unless you want to bi-amp the cab...then you need an external crossover.

Sound Quality : 10
Sound quality if fantastic. The sound is flat across the sound spectrum. I've noticed no coloring. I'm driving it with a SVP-Pro and a QSC power amp at 1000 @ 4 ohms bridged.

Reliability : 10
I've had the cabinet for 3 years and have had no problems with it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Have not had to call Ampeg. But the cab has a 5 year warranty, so I'm not worried.

Overall Rating : 9
I play rock, country and jazz. The only draw back is the size and weight (167 pounds). You need a truck to move it. I drive a van so it has never been an issue. If it were stolen, I would probably get another one. Before buying the 1832, i a/b'd SWR and EDEN. I felt that the speaker configuration was ideal.

This is an easy cab to use. When I first got it, I had a hard time figuring out all of the different inputs on the back, but that's to be expected when you buy a new piece of gear. It's basically just plug and play. This cab can be mono-amped, or bi-amped, so there is a little virsility here.

Sound Quality : 9
The sound quality from this cab is unbelieveable. It's the best I have heard in a long time. I guess that's what you get when you have Victor Wooten come to you can say, build me a bass amp. I love it, and will probably not play through anything else for a long time.

Reliability : 10
It has played every time I have played through it. No problems whatsoever. Since I have gotten this cab, I have not brought a back up with me. I really trust this cab. It weighs 168 pounds, so it can stand up to a little abuse.

I only called them once when I first got it, and they were very friendly and helpful.

I play in a rock band, and our style is very jam-bassed. Sort of like a combo of the Dead, STI, MMW, and moe. I love the overall PA-like sound quality you get from this cab. You have the 18" covering the low end, along with 2 10"s helping out with that low, 2 6"s doing most of the mids, and a tweeter covering the highs. When testing this product out, I compared this to mostley SWRs. I was planing on getting an SWR cab, until I tried this out. I'm in love.
