2 Channel w/ independent EQ & gain controls. Effects Loop w/ mix control. 550W RMS @ 4 Ohms, 800W RMS @ 2 Ohms. I use this in a band that plays many types of music. I don't really use the EQ a lot, but if I had passive pickups then the 4-band one on the amp would be awesome. Plus, it's got nifty switches for "ultra low" and "ultra high," boosting the respective frequency to match whatever playing style/cabinet you're trying to adapt to. This thing is exactly what I need to run my 2x10 cab and my 1x15 cab at the same time - two 400W @ 4 ohm cabinets are perfect for this beast.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a Peavey Cirrus 4 through a slew of Boss & Line 6 Pedals. I've never noticed any signal loss or distortion beyond the reasonable amount caused by sending the signal through so much hardware w/out true bypass. The only way I can make the "limit" light come on is to turn BOTH gain and master volume to about 8 and play slap SUPER hard. Even then, that is waaaaay too loud for just about any size room I play in.

Reliability : 10
This thing is a tank. It came with it's own padded carrying bag, which I plan on using until I get the money/guts to invest in a rack. If this thing ever breaks, I expect Ampeg's customer service to realize how much money I shelled out and to help me RIGHT away.

Customer Support : No Opinion
no experience.

Overall Rating : 9
Overall, this is probably the last bass head I'll ever buy, unless I switch to a power amp/preamp combination, in which case my bill will go even higher. Ampeg definitely did NOT inflate their wattage ratings for this amp - it's got more meat in it's small package than some of the huge 50 or 60 lb. heads I've played through. For any working bassist, this is where it's at - 20 lbs, and very COMPACT. I'm only giving this a 9 because it ruined my checking account.
