New 2008 410HE. I play jazz fusion, rock, blues, soul, etc. It'll growl when you want but can be really sweet, too ...

I use a Warwick Corvette Standard and an Aguilar 500SC. I can't see how anyone with the right gear (and a certain level of maturity as a player) could distort this cabinet. Very clean and crisp, never muddy, always Ampeg!
I used to play an SVTIII Pro amp but had some problems with it, so I was reluctant to buy it at first. After multiple trips to the store to play it, I was sold. It killed the Eden and SWR stuff I played through, too. Much more definition and balance.

Great cabinet! I am surprised that Ampeg suggests that it's meant to be an add on cabinet. You wouldn't know it, hearing my gear being played through it.

I dont want to bore with the same old features it is a 4x10 HE Ampeg Classic rated at 500watts rms and the whatever they call it 1000watts rms peak.I assume as always that some have the cheaper one and put a review in the wrong spot as usual.

The actual quality of this cab is amazing. I have been looking for a deep punchy ballsy wattsy cab and this is it........but of course mine is an older USA made one. This could also be the reason for mistaken reviews.

I dont know how old it is off hand but would guess at least 3 to five years(it's in the studio....not my PC room right now)It has the unmistakable scrathes from being played out many times(Because it sounds good, you bring it with you)It is built like a tank of course as all good ampeg cabs

I have played for over 20 years now and have dreamed of getting an Ampeg 8x10, which I still don't have ....yet. But I have owned everything from my beginer years of Peavey 2x15's to crate 2x10's to swr 2x12 and 4x10's and Eden 2x10 to many and I mean many cabs! I currently own a Mesa Boogie 1x15 road warrior which isn't bad at all. But to those who think this cab doesn't handle the low end.......it has to be 2 things...One , your bass sucks or two , your amp sucks! Sorry to put it this way but it is the truth and it hurts sometimes. I currently own four amps that I have powered through this cab. An ampeg svt 350(awesome sound!) ,an ashdown superfly@250 watts(sounds great through it!)a sansamp rbi with a 500watt power amp , and a new acoustic 200H head(which also sounds nice!) This cab as you can see is ran at 500 watts by my rigs at the most and believe me...ALLLL of them push the low end and then some. If you think hearing is more important than FEELING the bass......then switch to guitar you idiots! I'm sorry but I hate retarded reviewers on here. This is an Ampeg Classic 4x10HE and it is a classic for a reason! Either you dont have this cab or you have the new ones made in whateverland it is now, or like I said before......you are a retard!

i used this cab with a ashdown 500w evo11 head and i could not get the sound i wanted, not saying it was the cabs fault just i think the pair did not go together.its a quiet cab as i put it up against a abm 4x10 cab using the same amp,the abm blew it away.i wont give a rating as i think it would be unfair just wanted to state that in my opinion ashdown and ampeg dont go together.

bought this cab for the name really but did try instore first and it sounded pretty good.did about 8 gigs with it and never got the sound i wanted.as i said earlier it seems a quiet cab against others ive tryed and with the usual ampeg sound.perhaps with a ampeg head it would sound better but i think it would need another cab to go with it as this cab is not brilliant on its own.would not buy another as ive just bought the ashdown 4x10 cab to go with my amp which has given me the sound i was after.so after trying a ampeg its no thanks i will be staying with ashdown i think!

I'm not sure what year this one was made. The model number is SVT410HE-N, so it has Neutrik Speakon jacks on the back. This is the 8ohm model that is 500w RMS 1000w Program. Standard 410 cab with tweeter we all know and love.

I'm using a 5-string spector bass with this cab, doing a wide variety of style from jazz to rock to metal.
The High frequency attenuator is extremely usefull, i never go past halfway it gets to trebly and crispy for my taste.
People that have said this lacks volume and can not be standalone may not have been using the right gear in front of it. Originally I had a peavey head feeding it maybe 470 watts into 8 ohms on a good day, but thats a generous estimate. It didn't seem loud enough, but then I upgraded to a QSC MX1500a power amp that when bridged provides 1000w into an 8ohm load which is perfect for this cab. Its good to have amp headroom with this cab.. you won't blow the speakers unless you are stupid with your volume/eq. Once I upgraded the difference is amazing. what my 410 and 15 together did before i can now best with just this one 410.
Spending some time with your amp/bass EQ and having proper power behind this makes all the difference.

I have only once had a problem where the tweeter was cutting in and out, but this was a simple user-fix -- I simply unscrewed and removed the back input panel, and re-attached a wire that was coming loose (solderless joint), and I've been fine since. I move this cab around alot and it has seen plenty of shows and never once had a problem. The wire was probably loose just from it being moved around so much

Its an Ampeg SVT cab.. that really all I have to say. Its durable, has that classic bass sound, and with the right equipment it can be fairly versatile. If you need to move more air then you're probably playing somewhere with a PA. If lost or stolen I would probably buy the SVT610HLF because it has a bit more tonal versatility and punch, but for the $ vale this cab is great since I picked it up used.

most people would depend their lifes in this cab but actually i am not. bought it eyes close cause i couldn't tried it. and i bought cuase of all those good reviews i heard. then i satrted to find REAL reviews about this. cab nothing can be perfect no? what i found as negative points was basically the lack of botton end and the lack of power handling. i played with a musicman ray and a peavey fury trough GK 400 rb III (see my review about this. at low venues sounds good but raise the volume and you're doomed. tought was overpowering the GK and tried another head with more power. and the it happened that a 10 (clock counting=the same as 5) in master control the thing rattled. bottom line : at low venues has a sweet sound but raise it and bye-bye baby.

i mean for the price you just can'y ask too much. i laugh about people saying his $300 cab sound like pro. there must be a reason bass cabs go up to 3k. so this ampeg svt 410 HE is going to sound like this. i think it has a sweet and mellow sound but NEVER IN THIS LIFE THIS CAB WOULD BE PERFECT OR EVEN SUPER-GOOD at the most OK. AND THIS CAB WOULD NEVER BE A STANDING ALONE CAB. maybe if you use it with 15 will work. but alone it's buried on it's own mess. JUST A PIECE OF ADVICE DON'T BUY ANYTHING BECAUSE PEOPLE SAYS IS THE BEST. go and find it yourself. myself, i sold it. and then again in the quest for a GOOD cab. i am thinking maybe this quest would never end in a positive way unless you are ready to let go at least $1000 for a single 4x10.

Standard 410 cabinet with adjustable tweeter control. No ports, comes with a set of wheels that you can mount on the bottom. Overall, this cabinet is pretty standard, nothing extraordinary about it.
Sound Quality
:
7
The sound quality is pretty good for this cabinet. I wouldn't say that the low end is earth shattering, but its not bad. I do like the punch and mid-range from this cabinet. Besides Mesa/Boogie, I would say they might be second best on the market for midrange/punch. The highs can be bright and clean, no complaint there. Overall, this particular cabinet suffers in low-end response, the HLF is way better as far as low end.
Reliability
:
3
As stated above, because of low end issues, I have blown two speakers because it couldn't handle the low end. Sadly, I normally play with a flat eq, sometimes I add a little color, but I'm not one of those bassist that crank the bass up all the way. With that said I'm not feeling the reliability of this cabinet.

Overall, this cabinet is worth what you would pay for it. Its an average cabinet that gets the job done. However if you want a good ampeg cabinet I think the 410HLF is a lot better, and the 410BXT is extremely good as well.

It's a few years old, 4x10's, a tweeter w/level control, spring-loaded handles, casters. 500 watts, 8 ohms, 1/4" and speakon connectors. Has all the standard features. About 90-ish pounds.

It's an Ampeg. You get the Ampeg tone. I happen to love it a lot. This 4x10 replaced an Ampeg 2x10 that sounded just as good but didn't give me the volume I needed. You can't do much better than this for bass, period. I was kicking around the idea of buying a high-end cabinet i.e. Schroeder, Epifani, Bergantino, Accugroove, and even Aguilar. But I just couldn't justify spending that much on something that's not keeping my beer cold and my pizzas frozen.

I didn't want anything Ampeg at first b/c I always got the sense of "been there, done that". But after playing through a lot of different cabinets and amps and NOT getting the bassy rumble that attracted me to playing bass in the first place, I had to try it. I'd still like to get something different that can give me the same tone but my options are looking pretty bleak. I really do love this cabinet and sitting on top of a 1x15 with an old SVTIIP Preamp and a Mackie 1400 watt power amp...just really can't beat that!

Amp made in around 2003-2004. Has TONS of mid-punch which is what I was wanting to accentuate the lows of my Fender Bassman 410, so I wouldn't consider it a standalone, though it could be used as one if eq-ed right. It has the "input, daisy-chain" option on both 1/4" and speakon jacks, with a full horn attentuator. The amp can take 1000W at 4 ohm, so it's definitely a beast, and with my Fender I have 1700w at 4 ohm, so any amp I use won't come close to overpowering it. My favorite feature is the velcroed grill.
Sound Quality
:
10
As I said, tons of midrange punch. It definitely has that Ampeg classic tone. You could probably EQ any tone into it, but I haven't really tried, since I wanted the Ampeg punch/growl. It's an Ampeg. About all I can say.
Reliability
:

Bought it used, and the only problem it has is minor tolex wears and the speaker grill has a break. I think the grill supports are weak, since alot of them break, but they're separated from the speakers, so it's no big deal. The velcro on/off is amazing, since it's so easy. It's not true "velcro" but somethin similar, amazing though, and makes grills easy to change if they break.

There's nothing I can really say to praise this cab enough, as long as you run a good cab for lows with it. Gotta love Ampeg cabs.

i power this cab with an ampeg svt450hu head and play a fender jazz bass. i have never used it with another head, but i have played it with numerous basses. i play in a post-hardcore band and require alot of low-end sound. this amp is probably better suited for mids and highs, but does have a moderate amount of low-range sound to it. it sounds great at high volumes, and i've never gotten any distortion out of it (though i've never cranked my amp without the limiter on). if youre looking for more lows i would recommend pairing it with a 2-12 cab of some sort. i'll be getting an avatar 2-12 cab as i get a more powerful amp to power the whole setup...and then eventually replace this 4-10 with an avatar 4-10. all in all, it sounds great, but just isnt quite right for my music style.

I wouldn't recomend for loud/heavy rock. It lacks power.
I like the idea of a tweeter for a bass cabinet. It allows your more intricit parts to be heard instead of just hanging in the back, making the listener work to hear what you're doing.

4x10 with horn, 200 WATTS
It?s a speakers cabinet, the only noticeable feature is the variable tweeter level control.

I don?t recommend this cabinet to everyone, because of the little power handled.
If you need a powerful modern 4x10 and can?t live without Ampeg, go for the 410 HLF.
If you don?t need a wall of power, or if you?ve seen one second hand at a low price, and you want to add 4 10 speakers to your rig you should consider to make it yours.
A suggestion: try this or any other cabinet with the head supposed to drive it, and go straight to the right with the output volume knob, almost every cabinet sounds fine at low level.

I bought A brand new one a month ago..then returned it to buy a used one(to save some cash) so i'm guessing its about 2 yrs old (from looks). Its just a 4 10 cab with horn..simple enough could use a port but other than that only the amp could make it sound better. Also the review above this said its only 200watts RMS....its really 400watts RMS(800pk). It also has a Dial on the back that slightly will change the tone.

It sounds great, especially when givin the right amount of power its incredible. The only thing that would make it sound better is a port, like i said above. It never made noise at all..but i just got a seymourduncan quaterpouder in my bass and it makes staticy noise if your not touching a metal part of the guitar, But i think i just did a crappy job of installing the pickup and thats what causes it

410 + horn. No port, shallow depth. Dial attenuator. A basic 410. 200 watts RMS, for a full range cabinet?!?! I bought this cab beacuse it was the match for the SVT-350H. The Head was undepowered to compensate for lack of power handling capacity. The handles are the spring loaded kind- they are ok, but could use better placement. It weighs a lot!

Ive been playing for more than 16 years. I pushed this thing with a MEsa Boogie m-2000 head, it was OK. If you are considering this cab purely for its tone, skip it, get the 810 or the 410HLF. The headroom alone is worth it. If you want a 410 that can handle many styles and tonalities, go with an Eden, SWR, or Aguilar.
