Just look at the other reviews for the features, however it does have some really nice ones at that. I turn my compression all the way up, i like the sliders as well, more choice instead of the usual bass, mid and treble nobs you get with most combos. I also like the sub-harmonic feature though i never really use it. However i would like an easier way to use headphones with the amp, i've got baby sisters so i have to stop playing at a certain time.

I dont know if my amp is a one off but i was repeatedly asked to turn up at some recent gigs and when i had the input and output at just over halfway there would be the occasional bit of distortion. However these gigs were outside without using the D.I. (Which i also like very much). I'm going to try and get a 410 speaker so it doesnt distort.

Mine is the Evo 3 combo.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a Warick Corvette $$ with this. I play in a funk band, a big band and a blues band and its pretty nice for all of them however i would like to try it with a different bass as this is my only one. I'm hoping to get a Fender Reggie Hamilton Jazz Bass which should be interesting. The sound it produces is really punchy if you want it to be or really bassy if you want it, its very versatile.

Reliability : No Opinion
Amp hasnt broken down yet although there is the distortion i mentioned earlier, while on tour recently the casing did pick up a few scratches and tears. But damn this thing is heavy, i'm only a skinny guy so it's kinda hard for me. I do agree with what Ashdown say about wheels so im going to have to hit the gym.

I've been playing about 4 and a half years, not a long time i know. And unfortunately i havent had a lot of equipment in that time. But i like it for its sound and Ashdown is being used a lot these days.

Just aheadphone socket for me please...

Update:
My Ashsown is now 5 years old and still kickin. For it's birthday, I broke down and bought a cover for it, and gave it a good cleaning.
The pots are a little dirty and scratchy,(probably because I seldom use the tone controls), and there's a few small nicks on the back and bottom.

Overall, it's been a really good amp. So good, that my band mates refused to play with me at rehearsal, when I showed up with my Vox bass, and Peavey Database amp.
(they said it sounded like a plank plugged into a TV set)
Now it's the Warwick and Ashdown, or nothing at all. ( pretty spoiled band eh!)

I'm so pleased with my set up, that I havn't been in a music store in 3 years.
(I get my strings 10 sets at a time in the mail)

My wish list, a combo amp that weighs 20 lbs, makes 300 watts@8ohms, and sounds like a big rig.

Made in 1998.Bought new from Sound Control, Bristol.
More features than I need for the Blues/R'n'R/R'n'B that our band plays.

Sound Quality : 10
The big selling point for me was the great fat sound I got trying it in the shop with flat EQ settings. Compared to the Peavey Firebass head/cab and Trace combo I also tried there was no competition. The Ashdown had the sound I'd been looking for.
Used with the main bass, Fender Japan '50's reissue, I get all the low-end thump and mid-range clarity I could ever ask for.I also use a DeArmond Starfire bass, again it brings out the best in the bass. The single 15" handling everything from the low-end to the woody high-end the bass is capable of.
Volume-wise it has plenty to spare in normal pub/club gigs up to 150 people, I've never found it lacking and only put it through the PA at larger gigs to get a more balanced band sound overall.

Reliability : 9
I've depended on it totally. Solidly built, but not back-breakingly heavy like some bass combos I've owned, it has performed without sonic fault for 4 years. One problem with the VU meter which was sorted by the shop under warranty

Customer Support : 9
Only dealt with once for a fault, quickly sorted. Quick replies to e-mails for info. 5yr warranty which I don't envisage needing again.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing guitar for 20 years (Bass for 5 years).
If it were lost or stolen I'd certainly buy the same as replacement.
For the power output (and volume) it's the lightest combo I've tried.
Not the cheapest, but the best bass sound for the money, and better value than some highly priced american kit.

Bought this amp. new in 1999.
I play Blues,R&B,R&R and a bit of funk. My normal gigs are small clubs that seat 50 to 100 people and this amp does very well as a stand alone.
I looked at and tried all the big power combos (Eden, G&K,SWR etc.) and I bought the ashdown sight unseen. I tried a mag 200 with 2x10's and it sounded good.
I would have ordered 2x10's but as you get older you get lazier and 1x15 was 22 lbs. lighter and $300.00 less.
When I got the amp I took it home removed it from the box and turned it on.
Up till then I was aprehensive and worried it might sound like crap.
Not a chance. This amp sounds Big Fat Warm and Punchy. With the EQ set flat!
I play at alot of jams and other bass players are always checking it out and asking questions.
If you are old like me,(47 yrs.) this could be the amp for you.
It weighs 62 lbs. and makes 330 watts RMS @8ohms and 576 watts@4ohms
As for features, theres more than I need.

Sound Quality : 9
My main bass is a 1989 warwick streamer stage1 LTD with a single bartolini MM style pickup with active tone controls. I use nickle wound strings to warm it up a bit.
This guitar has a naturally punchy sound which makes up for the lack of 10" speakers.
The combination of this guitar and ashdown amp is to die for. For what I do,I could not ask for much more without going totally tube with big cabinets.(This means hiring roadies.)
As I said earlier I run this amp flat most of the time with a little midrange boost on the EQ and it sounds like I want it to sound.
The amp is super clean and the tube distortion is sweet sounding. Not Bzzzzzzzz Bzzzzzzzzz like the Kids play.
The fans make a bit of noise but it doesn't effect the sound of the amp.

Reliability : 9
I use this amp as a stand alone unit. So far very dependable.
The amp has not broken down but I did have a problem with drops in power as I was playing.
As it turns, (Dig This), I was not playing the amp loud enough!
Aparently there is a speaker protection circuit not common in guitar amps that has a coil type of resistor that is prone to oxidization(Due to the elements) and playing loud keeps it clean.(Who woulda thought?)

Customer Support : 10
I dealt with the distributor, in Canada, regarding the issue above and they were Gung Ho.
They contacted the dealer who hunted down a reputable local repair tech and they conveyed the neccessary information to him and a month later it was fixed.
I was supplied with a loaner when I needed and everything was Cool.
they corrected the problem changed the tube cleaned it checked it out at no cost to me and the amp was already off warranty.
Pretty good I would say.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing off and on for 30 years. I own 2 basses( the Warwick and a 1982 Vox Custom neckthrough) and one other amp(Peavey minx 110) I use for practice.
If this amp dissappeared I would look at other amps, but I would most likely buy another ashdown.
I love the big sound the relatively small size and weight and the huge power on tap.
I hate the power cord. Junk!
This amp costs quite a bit but its not far off the mark with other comparable combos.
In this league of amps an extra $100.00 is not much.

To the young and/or inexperienced.
Remember! When you buy an amp you are always impressed most by advertised wattage.
DON'T BE! If your bass amp or combo amp is advertised at 300watts@4ohms you are not getting that much available power because most cabinets and combos only have an 8ohm load in them.
you probably only have 175 to 225watts that are useable.
To get full power you usually have to add a cab or run a 2x15 or8x100 to get a 4ohm load.
