I bought this one after a bought an Avatar 210, I was hoping the 112 would be a bit smaller and lighter. No it's about the same size as the 210 and only maybe 2 or 3 lbs lighter. But none the less it is a great cab and nakes a great small stack with the 210. I run both with an Ampeg PB250 Head, or sometimes with a SWR WM160 head.
Featues are simple but very effective.

Has a bit more lows than the 210, a very clean well balenced sound.
I play Jazz Fretless, or Five string, and this speaker kicks out nice phat lows.

At under 200. $ the BEST value in a Pro quality Bass speaker you will ever find. I have been playing bass semi-pro for over 20 years, have owned Hartkey, SWR, Ampeg, Gallen -Kruger, and many other brand of amps. Play Yamaha, and Fender Basses, Every style of music from Hard Rock to light Jazz.
Avatar the best kept secret in Music. When considering to go hi-end like Eden or Messa or some other expensive cab forget it, just get Avatar.

Made 2004: Black carpet covering with heavy plastic corners. One 12" eminence speaker rated a 500 watts and foster horn. Rear panel consists of two 1/4 inch jacks wired in parallel and speakon connector. Control knob for Foster horn. Very veratile for classic rock and blues as a stand alone cab. I use it to practice and play gigs at bars with 300 people capacity and weddings in pretty good size halls. Plenty of tone and bottom end. A very light 45 lbs. I use this cab with a Genz Benz ML200 head which is rated at 200 watts into eight ohms and it is everything I need.

Been playing for 40 years both guitar and bass. I have a Fender vibroverb reissue, and a tweed blues jr. and have always been an Ampeg fan,but this combination of Genz Benz head and Avatar cab is really something special. I've tried this cab against a Carvin 15" cab and an Aguilar GS112 and the Avatar won over hands down in tone and size for my needs. It really barks. For the price, you can't ask for anything more.

I purchased a 1-12. This is a great cabinet. Plenty of power (500 wts) & easy to carry around. The cab. is made well. It has a Delta 12 in it w/foster tweeter. It has a volume control on the tweeter. For the money, you couldn't ask for any more. Dave was great & very helpful. He's a great guy! I'm not sure on dependability since I just bought it.

Very basic with dual (parallel)1/4" inputs and one speakon connector. I selected the 4 ohm. It's rated at 500 watts. I bought it as a light weight compact woofer to mount under my Avatar B210 dual 10" cabinet, also rated at 4 ohms. The cabint also has a high frequency horn with its own volume control. The SB112 is constructed very well and is covered with a carpet skin with a heavy duty wire mesh grill and two side handles. It's simple and I like that!

I run an Avatar B210 and the SB112 in parallel for a 2 ohm rating. I do not use any bi-amping. I run them off my SVT II 300 Watt tube rack head. This head will operate either 2 or 4 ohm cabinets. I am a Fender bass person, period. I own 16 of them from vintage P and J's to the modern passive and active versions. My 1991 passive Jazz Bass sounds like GOD through the Avatar setup. The E string is the tightest that I have ever heard, period! I set the two volume and single treble knobs on my Jazz Bass all the way on full and control everything from the SVT head. I also string my bass with Roto Sound Swing Bass strings. I play both finger style and utilize some "popping" and pull-offs with my thumb and index finger. Even with my monster SVT amp I can run the speakers at very high levels with no break-up or "flapping". The SB112 give me super bottom and punch. It is the absolute best regardless of cost. Combined with the B210 on the top the sound is amazing. All frequencies are covered and with detail. Currently I play both jazz and rock and the SB112 is super. I also utilize a Fatman compressor with an Aphex 204 Aural Enhancer in front of the SVT's signal chain. The sound is fat, but well defined. I have many Ampeg cabinets, but they are too big for me to lug around. When I compare this setup to my Ampeg SVT-410HLF the results are very similar, but the Avatar mini-stack can produce a little more volume. Not to mention it is easier to carry two small light weight cabinets then one monster Ampeg! Most of my gigs are in small to medium size places. If I get called upon to do a really large venue then I rather have my SVT DI'd through the board and house speakers, instead of having to crane-in my SVT-810 cabinet. I would still use the Avatar speakers for the stage sound.

I have been playing bass since the late 1960's. I own or have owned virtually every bass cabinet manufactured by Ampeg. I also own many Fender bass guitars and a few non-Fender acoustics, etc. If my Avatar cabinets were stolen I would be on the phone with Dave to order a new set immediately. I love the Avatar products. They sound fantastic and cost much less then the well advertised brands. They match up to anything out there. The SB112 is amazing!!!! It also fits in my trunk and it weighs around 45Lbs. A breeze to carry around. My back loves it!

1-12 + horn @ 4 OHMs. Wanted something small to rehearse, record and play small time gigs with. Didn't want to spend a fortune. Avatar reviews sounded promising. I went with the 4 OHM because I was planning on using a small (Hartke 1400) 140 watt amp.

I normally play through a GK 400RB with 2 Bag End 15's, so I'm used to getting a big sound with small package. I was not prepared for how great this cab would sound. I usuall add lows and highs to my otherwise flat EQ to get a beefier sound, but it's not necessary with this little monster! If anything, I may add a little upper mids that several of my basses lack. Adding mids, now that's a switch! No scoop, enhance, pre-curve shape shift crap needed here folks, this little guy sounds just FINE! Maybe back the tweet off a tad depending on your pickups and you are there. Plenty of thump and twang for my tastes. My EQ's are now headed for the auction blocks. We're talkin' good Tone with a capital T.

I'm running this cab by itself with a Behringer BX3000T 300W head, and as an extension cab with a Peavey Combo 300. It sounds great with both, and makes the Peavey sound bigger and warmer. I play a variety of styles on Fender Precision and Jazz basses. The cab does well with all, and it cleanly handles the low notes on my five-string Jazz with no breakup. It gets a nice deep sound, stronger than you'd guess by looking at it.

I bought this on Ebay, (search Avatar speaker- under musical instruments) but it came direct from the manufacturer.
This is a small, single twelve, with Foster tweeter-with attenuator cabinet, like many that are gaining popularity with bassists. I called Dave at Avatar, for a U.P.S.
tracking number, and he is a friendly, helpful guy. I received the cabinet in a well packed box, and it took only two days to get it. The cabinet is top notch, in
every area of construction. The carpet, corners, and steel grill are tightly fitted. I was a little skeptical as to what the cabinet would be like compared to my SWR
gear. You now have it from a very critical bassist- It takes a back seat to NO other cabinet. In addition, I saved a lot of money! Do the math, A B-112 Avatar:
$179.00 + shipping, direct from the maker...or an Aguilar 1-12: approx $400. Bergantino:$525 This cabinet is a killer deal!
Sound Quality
:

I borrowed a 'boutique' Bergantino 1-12 ($525) to compare, and the Bergantino sounds great, but, I like the fullness of the Avatar MORE! It has a slightly
larger cabinet, making it handle the low end better, in my opinion. I tried my 5 active string speaker killer through it, and was stunned to hear how well it
sounded! I usually can make the best cabinets scream uncle! In summary, I'm totally satisfied with this purchase!

Great sounding, portable cabinet, with modern construction and features. As good, or superior to my SWR cabinets in this department. I compared this cabinet head -to- head with a $525.00 Bergantino b-112 tweeter cabinet, and it had a noticable low and mid punch advantage over the 'boutique' cabinet! The tweeter in the Avatar seems to sound smoother than in my SWR cabs, even though it is the same unit. You could buy three of the Avatars for about the street price of the Bergantino, or other high end brand name cabs.

Playing 36 years- I own a lot of gear, and it all gets used! SWR, Mackie, Cerwin-Vega folded horns, Acoustic Image Clarus head, Trace Elliot, Sunn, Fender, and custom basses, Lowendall and '51 Kay uprights. This cabinet compares with ANY cabinets produced by the major brand companies. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. I love the way the cabinet sounds, especially considering it's relatively small size. I chose this cabinet primarily for it's incredibly low direct price...I happened to buy it via Ebay, for about $20.00 less, although still direct from Avatar. They are $179.00 + shipping! The cardboard packing box is simple, but quite impresive, as well. You will not be dissapointed! The driver and tweeter with L-pad, if you were to buy from a retailer, or on the net... would likely cost as much as the entire assembled cabinet!

Solid small cab. 18"x18"x15.5". 40 lbs. Eminence 12 inch Kappa Bass Speaker, Foster high frequency compression horn tweeter. I wanted something that was small and easy to move around because all of the gigs we do now have a full system that I go through. It seems that the bigger the gigs we get the less gear I want to bring. I always thought it would work the other way around, hmmm. I gig 4 nights a week in 2 modern rock/pop/funk cover/original bands. I became tired of lugging a big cab into the car and down to all of the gigs, so I went looking for a solution. The head I'm using is an SWR sm-400s.

Great sounding cab for its size. The horn can be a bit bright sounding so I keep it set rather low. It's decent for slap style and pick playing, though not as punchy as 10" speakers are. I think it sounds good for fingerstyle playing, I've always liked 12" speakers for fingerstyle. I can play the smaller gigs with this and go thru our Mackie pa system w/Mackie powered sub and get away with it. I'm assuming one can do smaller, coffee shop style, low volume gigs with the B112 alone. I must say that I tried playing some of the bigger rooms (I'm talking full sound system/big stage) using the cab as my monitor on stage and even with a little bass in the house monitors the bass still got lost in the mix. Obviously this will differ from band to band as my band tends to get somewhat loud. On a large stage it tends to get lost, but what can you really expect from a 1x12 cab in a large loud room on a large loud stage? My 4x10 cab is needed for those. I'm planning on getting the C15 to add to the B112. I hear the 2 cabs make a great combination. Also, I'd rather carry 2 smaller cabs than lug 1 bigger one. It's also easier to fit them in the trunk. A 4x10 definitely won't be fitting in my trunk any time soon. If you are looking for one cab to do it all, this probably isn't it, I suggest getting a Bergantino 322.:) The B112 makes a great cab for the smaller gigs(I still go direct to our pa whenever I use the B112) and from what I hear its really good when working with the Avatar C15. The Avatar B112 won't go as deep as some of the other 1x12's(Aguilar,Epifani,Bergantino) but its a fraction of the price of those cabs. In my band the "gourmet sound" of those cabs would probably get lost among loud guitar and drums anyway. Besides, the audience isn't hearing the cab I'm using on stage, they hear my bass through the mains in the house system. My amp setup usually functions only as a stage monitor so the only people who will appreciate my stage sound are my bandmates and me, and like I said with loud guitars and drums, not to mention earplugs in my ears(yes, I want to keep my hearing) I can't even appreciate it!

You will find that Dave puts his cabs on Ebay, to help move them I'm guessing. I was lucky enough to find one and be the only one who put a bid on it( it was right before Christmas 2002) and won it for the price of $148.00 + $25 shipping. Great deal for this cab! I love this little thing. I've been playing about 10 years now and have gigged A LOT! I do have to say that it does not cut it for me on the big stages, then again, I seriously doubt any 1x12 would. For a 1x12 its been doing a great job on the smaller gigs. I want to add the C15 to my B112. Overall I am very happy with what I got and it turned out to pretty much be what I expected.
