Mine is a 2003-4 model with the Kappa Pro speaker at 4 ohms. Power to weight ratio is tops and is even better with the Neo speakers. I'll gladly hoist the extra weight which is still a lot lighter than a 4X10 cab.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a SWR 4004 which is suppose to be sterile and modern sounding. Not the case at all with the Avatar B115. It's so easy to dial in "old school" tones it's rediculous. With my Ibanez Roadstar p-model/ Dimarzio pickup I get all the growl and definition I want and NO muddy response. I'd say the tone is uncolored and thumps with articulate authority.

Reliability : 10
I Do rely on it and have no qualms about using this cab exclusively.

Customer Support : 10
I have never experienced better service from any vender, period! Avatar could be used as a model company for any business.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing since 1980. I used to be a guitarist and have been involved in the Seattle band scene for years. As far as cabs go I'm set brand wise. I prefer Avatars tone to say, Edens, simply because I don't aspire to play or sound like a Victor Wooten or some of the modern sounding guys.To me these cabs just have a richer, uncolored tone to them. Regardless if I play my Fender Geddy Lee thru it or my Ibanez it's voice puts a smile on my face. Mr. Avrett in a previous post is absolutely spot on. These cabs are tops for the semi-pro/hobbiest!

Front vented cab with 15" Eminence Kappa Pro LF (Low Frequency) speaker with a Foster Horn Tweeter, Tweeter level control, speakon Connector and 2 (two) 1/4" jacks.

Sound Quality : 10
Initially the Horn Tweeter had a very bad hum...this turned out to be the 12AX7 preamp tube in my SWR 350x amp. Changed the 12AX7 to a Groove Tube 12AX7R..problem solved. No more buzz.
This cab has awesome well defined low end with punch. My son never commented on my sound until now..he sed it sounded very good. I have not only good low end but with clarity.

Reliability : 8
The cab is very well constructed and I do not forsee any problems with it in the near future.

Customer Support : 10
Dave at Avatar was very helpful. Good customer support.

Overall Rating : 10
I do not normally give this high of a rating on things but when something is very good is deserves it. And this bass cab does!
This is the best bang for the buck you can get...some do not like the black carpet covering but I think it looks good.
Cudo's to an outstanding company.

This cab is just the standard 2003 B115H made by Avatar Speakers. It has a single 15inch speaker plus a tweeter. 600 watts handling @ 8 ohms. Horn has a level control. It's a speaker cab-how many bells and whistles do you want? The reason for the 8 is since there is hardly any indicators on the back on what is what, but once again-it's a speaker cab. It doesn't require much thought to think "i wonder what this jack is for" or "i wonder what this knob does for my adjustable tweeter". If you're the kid that took your strat back to the store and said "the on off switch is broken" when referring to the toggle switch-you shouldn't be running a stack or anything besides a combo. And i mean that in the best possible way.

Sound Quality : 9
The tweeter does add quite a bit of hiss if you turn it up to far. I've found that with my maple boarded StingRay 5, i don't need any additional help getting the highs to come through so i leave the tweeter off. The cab sounds very good for both 5 string bass guitar and upright bass. The other parts of my rig are: SansAmp RBI pre, Carvin DCM2000 power amp.

The only reason i think i'm getting distortion at higher volumes is that my power amp only puts out 425 @ 8 ohms. However, i hardly ever run it to that point since that is beyond the head ache level. I do plan on adding a few more cabs to mysetup so i can unleash the full power of the Carvin though.

The sound fits well in every setting that i have played-from Rock Band to Jazz to Musical Pits.

Reliability : 9
The cab seems really reliable. There isn't much to go wrong on a speaker cab. I've heard some buzzing from the back control plate, but it's not enough to worry me at all.

Customer Support : 10
Dave is awesome. Very friendly and helpful. The only time i have ever had contact with him was through my dad though-as he has the credit card and i don't. Very good customer support however.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing bass for the past 7 years. If this cab was stolen, i think i'd be able to find the guy fairly easily as the cab is huge, heavy, and barely fits in my car. I would buy another one again. The complete rig i am running is: StingRay5/Kay Upright -> SansAmp RBI-> Carvin DCM2000 -> Avatar B115h. I like the setup and the sound. The only thing i wish it had are speakon connectors, but they do have them on the 04 models. This is fine with me-all of my speaker cables are speakon to 1/4 so i can just alternate the sides.

I have compared this cab to the sound of my Fender BassMan 200, Avatar wins.

I do plan on buying at least 2 more Avatar Cabs eventually, the B210 and the B410. I have been eyeing the B212 also though. Who knows-i might end up with one of every cab. :D

15" Eminence spwaker with Foster horn - sweepable attenuator. Rugged chassis and large corner protectors that serve as stack interlocks. I use my B115H as the bottom of a stack - paired with an Avatar B210 and a SWR 4004 400W (4 ohm) head. Both cabs are 8 ohm. Though I fully attenuate the horn on the B115H, I chose this model in the event I would ever choose/need to use the 115 alone. But within the format of the stack - the B210's Foster horn gives plenty of bite.

Sound Quality : 10
The instant I hooked up the B210/B115H stack for the first time, I knew I had found my personal tone nirvana. The fullness of the bottom that the 115 gives is the perfect complement to the 210's punch and clean tone. I rarely set my EQ off of dead flat because I'm completely satisfied with the tone of the stack as-is. My guitar is a Fender American Std. Jazz V and I play classic rock and blues as a weekend warrior.

Reliability : 10
This cab has been perfect. I did have a speaker go bad in my B210 but that is competely unrelated to this cab and the service I got was outstanding.

Customer Support : 10
Dave Avatar answers his own phone, ships the same day as ordered, and backs up his product completely.

Overall Rating : 10
14-day return policy made both my Avatar cab purchases no-brainers. Once I gigged with them, there was no question I'd be keeping them. I've played for 28 yrs as a weekend warrior and these are some of the best sounding cabs I've ever heard - at any price. The fact that they are so reasonably priced makes them a real eyepopper. If lost/stolen, I'd have Dave Avatar on the phone within minutes and I'm confident he'd have a new cab on its way to me the very same day. These cabs really are that good and he really provides that good of a service. There's a reason why every review of his product is glowing - he's that good.

B115H cabinet with a Eminence Kappa Pro LF 15" speaker. Rated 600 watts @ 8 ohms. Has two 1/4" jacks for daisy chaining cabinets. Adjustable Foster horn. H/D side handles.

Sound Quality : 9
I play mainly Rock, with a Fender Jazz, P-Bass, & a Guild Pilot with active EMG's. It has been used with an Ampeg B-5R, a Hartke HA4000, & a Eden WT400, all of which sounded very good. It is tight, focused, & is not "Boomy" like some other 15" Bass cabinets. It works very well as a stand alone cabinet. I also use it with a B210. The two 10" speakers add some punch, while the 15" rounds out the bottom end. It is a very efficient cabinet, requiring very little power to drive. The Foster horn is hissy if adjusted above 1/2.

Reliability : 10
I have owned it for 7 months with no problems. It feels very solid, & has quality components.

Customer Support : 10
Excellent! Dave is great to deal with!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing since the mid 60's, & have owned Ampeg, Bag End, Carvin, Eden, Hartke, & Mesa Boogie, 1x15" Bass cabinets. I am very happy with the B115H overall, & compared to the other cabinets, it is a great value.

Made in the good ol' USA - Summer of 2003. Quality, Solid Plywood construction for lightness. Professional Dadoed joints for structural integrity. Bottom front ported. Covered in black carpeting with black plastic stacking corners and a black diamond pattern metal grill ala Carvin. Large recessed metal bar side handles. Jack plate with a volume control for the Foster tweeter and 2-1/4 phono jacks for daisy chaining with other cabinets. 27"H X 25"W X 16.5"D and weighs about 70 Lbs. with the 15" speaker. I bought this cab empty (you can get this cab with a stock 15" Eminence driver ) with only the tweeter. I put in a 1985 Peavey Black Widow 15" 8 Ohm woofer. The amp only sees the woofer so she is set at 8 Ohms. Cab should handle 350 Watts RMS and 800 Watts Program/Continuous. I would rate it a 10 if it had Speakon connectors, removable casters, and an available cover but, these are not yet options with Avatar. Dave, you gotta start selling covers man! I put in a set of Ernie ball removable casters as this will be the upper cab of a stack. Non removable casters are available from Avatar. I did have to spray paint the lower back plywood and light grey dampening material matte black as it could been seen through the bottom port. Dave said he would consider doing this in future production or use black dampening material like some other manufacturers. He said the same about covering the uncovered cross member with carpet in the bottom port. All screws were tight except for the plastic corners. This was easily fixed with toothpicks and wood glue.

Sound Quality : 10
This cab sounds fantastic with my Black Widow! Nice, clear, room filling low end and the tweeter really rounds the sound out regardless of what amp head I use. If you were to get another, you may want to just get the Avatar B115 as 1 tweeter should be enough for any stack. Besides, all tweeters hiss at high volume. 2 separate 15" cabs are much easier to lug around than my old Peavey 2 X 15 BW cab. This really gets more important the older I get ;O]

Reliability : 10
Avatar cabs are quality products at fair prices. Just check out all the other unsolicited reviews here. You can bet this cab will still be around and pissing off the neighbors when I'm 70! Built to last.

Customer Support : 10
When you deal with this company you deal with the owner. I don't know how long this will go on as word spreads about Avatar but until it does, you get superb A-#1 service from the head of the company. As you can imagine, this is rare and getting rarer every day. Dave is really great. He is quick with an answer and friendly to boot. Just pick up the phone or shoot him an email. He will do "ANYTHING" to help! He even threw in some screws for my woofer to keep everything pretty and all I had to do was ask.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing bass since 1975 and have basses costing over $1500 to less than $150 and they all sound great with the cab. In addition to this cab I own a Peavey 18" Black Widow cab, a Peavey 2 X 15 BW (now with only 1 speaker), and a Carvin RL410T 4 x 10. A Carvin RL1000 head and a couple of Peavey bass heads for amplification. I like the B115H so much I will be getting a B115 for the other 15" Black Widow I own. How's that for a testimonial?
I checked around and this was THE best cab for a phenomenal price. I don't know how Dave does it but, I'm glad he does! I highly recommend AVATAR!!

Made for me when i purchased, 2003.
This amp is extremely versatile. It has a 95oz 15" eminence speaker, which alone thumps. Then, they added a fostex tweeter, with level control, and that evens out the sounds. Theres nothing I wish this cab has that it doesnt already have. I use it for my band, andd Im running an ampeg B2R bass head through it.

Sound Quality : 10
Im using a Yamaha RBX760A bass with active PU's. It works very well for everything I play, from metal, to funk, to jazz, and back. Even though im not into it much, it plays punk nice too. The horn can be noisy if you turn it up all the way, but I never need more than halfway up. It plays clean at high volumes (unless you use distortion effects, of course.)

Reliability : No Opinion
I havent had it very long, so I dont really know how reliable it would be, but it sure looks like you could drop it off the back of a truck and still use it well. HAsnt broken down yet. I wont rate.

DAVE!! Hes an awesome guy, super friendly, and very easy to deal with. Comes with a 1 year (?) warranty, but i dont think ill need it.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing about a year and a half on bass, but Ive been playing instruments for about 6 years... so I know good sound when I hear it! It sounds just as good as any other brand.
