See Tony's review on 9/29/2004. (I'm too lazy to type it all out again.) I'm upgrading my rating from a 9 to a 10, since I've now owned this cabinet for a few years.

See Tony's review on 9/29/2004. I gave this a 9 rating originally, but I just had to come back ad upgrade my rating to a 10. This cabinet just rocks my world! I've used it for all sorts of gigs and EVERYONE always comments on my bass sound.

After almost two years, this thing is still like new. It's as rugged as they come.

It's the same people, so I assume they're still as awesome as when I first called them. (See Tony's review on 9/29/2004.)

See Tony's review on 9/29/2004. I would absolutely recommend Avatar to others, and I have. I would most certainly buy from them again, although I probably won't need to, since my two Avatar cabs are as solid as a rock. They'd still be around with the cockroaches after a nuclear explosion!

This cab does not have all the bells and wistles you might find in more expensive units, but it's got it where it counts. Plain and simple, 2 massive Eminance Kappa Pro drivers (1000W total), a nice adjustable horn for the highs, 2 1/4" jacks and a Speakon jack in the back plate, all covered in the same rat fur carpet every other cab has. The only feature I would like to see in the cab would be integrated wheels like the ones you see in the new Beringer cabs.

Here is where this cab really performs. I've owned Hartke, SWR,and Peavey, and I was blown away with the punch, clarity, and power of the cab. I'm playing a Ken Smith BSR5MW, through a Mesa Boogie Walkabout, into the B210 Kappa PRO. You can get that great low-mid growl that you feel in your gut. Being a 2-10 it falls short with the really low frequencies, but that's to be expected. I use the B210 with an SWR 1-15 on stage to really fill out the bottom end. I plan on replacing my SWR 15 with an AVANTEC Kappa 15 as soon as I get the funds. I'm so happy with the B210 that I'm sure the Kappa 15 will smoke my SWR 15.

I havent had this cab long enough to comment on the reliability. However, it did get damaged during shipping. One of the drivers had a "rubbing voice coil" that buzzed ever so slightly.

Buzzing Speaker? No problem. The dudes at Avantec sent me a replacement driver which I recieved in days. I swapped out the bad driver, end of problem. That is awesome customer service.

I've been playing bass for 15 years. I've played all kinds of gear from the highest end to the lowest. This cab sounds awesome and cost a fraction of what other higher end gear goes for. I recommend this cab to anyone looking for a no-nonsense, great sounding cab at a low price.

This brand new 2 x 10 cab from Avatar features 2 500W Eminence Kappa Pro speakers with huge 80 oz magnets and a Foster high frequency horn tweeter (which includes an adjustment knob on the backside of the cab). It comes in either 4ohm or 8 ohm. I chose the 8ohm because I am using it bridged with another 15" cab. It also features one SpeakOn connector and two 1/4" jacks that are all wired together! (Important if you want to add another cabinet and while still using the SpeakOn connector.) I use this cabinet (and the 15") with a 1000W Carvin amp and play a Tobias 5-string bass. I use it for church services as well as funk and R&B gigs. It is as rugged as they come. Solid construction! And it's small enough to fit in the trunk of my car!

I've never heard a more powerful, punchy sound from a configuration such as the Avatar B210 Kappa Pro. Even by itself, it gives me what I need for the smaller gigs. It lacks the low bottom for larger gigs, but that's to be expected with only two 10" speakers. (But the punch is definitely there!) Inside or outside gigs are no problem for this baby, but again, I need to supplement it for larger or outside gigs with a 15" cab. What I'm most impressed with is the "true sound" of the cabinet itself. There are no "extra" tones or harmonics that aren't suppose to be there. I now know exactly what my bass actually sounds like!

No Opinion
I have not had the cabinet long enough to give a fair opinion on reliability, but based on my experience so far, I don't see there being a problem. The cabinet is one of the most solidly built that I have seen.

Here's where I was MOST impressed. Dave and his team are extremely helpful. When matching my amp with the different configurations they offer, they helped explain the differences and recommended the options for me. I originally bought the B210 Delta cab, and a few weeks later they came out with the new, higher-end B210 Kappa Pro cab. I contacted Dave and he was more than willing to do the exchange for me, no questions asked! I shipped my cab back, paid the difference in cabs and for the additional shipping, and my new cab arrived on my doorstep in 3 days! Try THAT with one of the "big" companies.

I've been playing bass for 23 years and I've owned and played through a lot of gear over the years. This cabinet got me excited all over again. The power and sound is excellent. I would definitely buy from Avatar again.
