Reliability : No Opinion
only had it about 2 weeks but so far so good.

Customer Support : 10
dave it the best you call he answers the phone, you send an email he reply's awesome best customer support ever, and shipping was exactly on time.

Overall Rating : 10
overall i would give this amp a 10/10 you can do anything with it it always sounds good, the horn tweeter is a little hissy and loud volmes but with a guitarist and drummer no one can even notice. if it were stolen i would commend the guy who stole it because it is heavy and then i would run him down with my car and force him to buy me a new one.

2003 Model. Had it for about 3 months now. 4 Eminince 10" Delta Speakers and Foster Horn. 8 ohms. Front ported. Two 1/4" jacks and dial horn control. I had also heard that Avatar doesn't screw the speakers in tightly, so I checked and they were fine. Only a 9 because speakons might help.

Sound Quality : 10
This cab sounds freakin amazing. I'm running my 1999 Warwick Corvette Standard 5 string through 2002 SWR Workingman's 2004 200 watt (140 watts into 8 ohms, which is what this cab is) head with a Behringer MDX1400 Compressor in the effects loop. The sound this cab cranks out is awesome. I like to play Incubus' S.C.I.E.N.C.E and if you hear Dirk Lance's tone on that album you would melt. I like to think that my tone is similar, and this cab has no problem helping me reproduce it. I bought this because I had previously bought the SWR Workingman's 2004 stack package (with a 2x10 and 1x15), and sold the two SWR cabs to get this one. Before I got rid of the SWR cabs however, I A/B-ed the Avatar with the SWR cabs. The 2x10 and 4x10 sound exactly the same, and I know what I'm talkin about; I've been playing trumpet for 8 years and bass for almost 5 years now. The SWR 1x15 obviously has a little less trouble with the lows than the Avatar 4x10, but that is to be expected. I just turned up the bass control on the head and the Avatar could easily match the SWR. I had also heard that the horn was noisy compared to other cabs, but I could hear no difference between the Avatar and SWR. I can't wait to scrounge some money together so I can match this with the Avatar 1x15. And because the 1x15 is even cheaper than the 4x10, that shouldn't take too long.

Reliability : 10
I would put money down that this would withstand more abuse than the SWR's could.

Customer Support : 10
Dave is awesome. Hands down the most personal company I have ever dealt with.

Overall Rating : 10
I'm definately getting the Avatar 1x15 to match with this. Would absolutely positively 187% get a new one if it was stolen. And then I would seriously injure the guy whole stole it from me too.

I gigged at the recent NASCAR event in Fontana and the 410 gave great bass sound outdoors. This against a loud rock band with two guitars and a substantial PA system. I have the 4 ohm model and played at 300 watts without a hitch.

Sound Quality : 10
Nice tone, great volume and it handled thick bass grind. Speakers handled slap tones to pure ringing single notes very well.

Reliability : 10
I played for almost 5 hours LOUDLY. I mistakenly turned down the horn volume control all the way and fried it during the last song (my fault). Dave advised me not to do that and replaced the control for FREE in two days. That guy is wonderful for service!

Customer Support : 10
I have SWR, Gallien Krueger and Carvin stuff. None of these fine companies come close to the service from Avatar. With Avatar you get DAVE and he cares about you and your bass happiness. It sounds corny, but he is the best around.

Overall Rating : 10
If you play bass loudly and wish to be asked to turn down rather than turn up this would be a good rig to buy. The unit is solid, sounds great and the company is there to be sure you get great sound cheaply.

This is the new 2003 8 ohm model with a front port along the bottom. It has 4 eminence delta lf speakers with 56 oz magnets that come to a total of 1,400 watts rms! There is also a nice foster tweeter. It has a nice diamond pattern steel grill on the front. Horn volume level on the back and with in and out 1/4 inch imputs. You can have all woofer or a lot of horn to give you different tonal capabilities. 3/4 inch. plywood built with the big plasitc corner handles. You will not be dissapointed.

Sound Quality : 10
I play mainly hard rock to metal, what a wide range. The speakers have not distorted so far at the 300 watts my amp puts out at 8 ohms. These speakers can really punch out the jams. They are punchy but not too punchy to give just the right sound. My bass really determines the tone but everything is clear and tight, nothing muddy at all even with the tuned down low end A string which I was suprised about.

Reliability : No Opinion
I've only had it for a day and nothing has gone wrong. It was packaged extremely well by avatar and was not damaged at all from shipping.

Customer Support : 10
Dave is extremely nice and friendly. He emailed me the same day when I had questions with his anwer. The website is www.avatarspeakers.com and is easy to find. It comes with a 14 day return policy, you take care of shipping, and a 1 year warranty. I wish it had say a 2-4 year warranty like the bigger manufactures but I probably won't even need it because these speakers are soo good.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 3 years and have heard some, but not a lot of amps. I have an Ashdown Mag 400 bass head that puts out 500 watts at 4 ohms and is extemely clean. I would by this cab again if it were stolen or lost. This cab is the absolute best and all around bass cabinet you can buy for the money and is extremely comprable to even vey expensive swr or ampeg cabs. I don't understand how SWR or Ampeg cabs can cost so much but when you look at their specs they're not even as good as the Avatar bass cab is. A comprable bass cab to the Avatar at $340 would be an Ampeg or SWR at $700-800.

Dave is the best.

ANy moron that spends twice as much for any other kind of cab is simply that: a moron. In this day and age, when it sounds too good to be true, it always is. This is the exception. Daves prices for this cab have gone up $100 in the past 6 months. He could raise it another $100 and it would still be a good deal. As it is now, it is a steal. Buy one.

4 Eminence 10s...3/4 plywood...It's all been said.

Sound Quality : 10
Excellent power handling...the more you crank it the better it sounds.
Right now I'm running an Ampeg SVT 200t. More than enough balls for anything I do. Read some comments about hiss from the tweeter...only could duplicate that with excessive high frequency boost 1.7 kHz and above. Overall sound is balanced and punchy once you get the EQ worked out. What you put in is what you get out.

Reliability : No Opinion
Can't say yet.

Dave is superultracool...You call he answers the phone...you EMail he answers...works for me.

Been playing since the 60's...yowza...PLEASE don't steal my gear! Played through low end, high end, and in between. Avatar rocks. It's taken me a long while to learn to keep it simple. Please send me any unwanted Foderas.

great construction. it seems very solid. good components i.e. drivers, horn etc. i think that the grill could have
been a little sturdier. but overall well made. the cab was asthetically pleasing to look at you could say. corners were all even, no tears in the tolex.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
i play classic rock and blues and i play VERY LOUD. this cab handles all i can throw at it without really breaking up. the horn was a little
hissy but hey that's fostex for you. it adds a nice slap contour anyways. overall this cab has more grunt than i'll ever need it cut right through
my guitarist's 100 watt marshall halfstack. i wish that it had a little more low-end to it but that's what 2x12's and 1x15's are for.

Reliability : No Opinion
it seems sturdy but we will see....

Customer Support : 10
dave was great! very helpful, professional, and prompt. that's more than i can say about many other manufacturer's. (swr, ampeg, other's) i
have played them all and emailed even more and dave is up there top 2 easy!

Overall Rating : 8
ok here goes: right now i'm in a pinch. i have lost some gear to reliability issues and have had to revamp my entire rig because of it. i have
owned swr, acme, genz benz, hartke, and played berg's epi's aggies, eden (all the best gear) with a discerning ear. honestly, these cabs really do
keep up with everything. ok so aguilar is better, but for $300 i got a kick@ss NEW cab that really does sound good and handles itself in a
very LOUD environment. i would recommend it to anyone!!! it sounds better than any swr cabinet that i have ever played

I guess this is the new, updated version...4 10" Eminence drivers, 350 watts each (the older cabs had 300 watt drivers), front slot port. Casters are $10 extra and you have to put them on yourself. 1/4" inputs, tweeter level control. Removable casters and speakon connections are the only things that I'd like to have, but for the price...

Sound Quality : 9
My setup: Fender Jazz Deluxe 5, Boss GT-6B preamp/processor, QSC 1850 power amp. The cab sounds killer with most of the preamp options on the Boss processor. The fact that you can give it over 1000 watts with no problem is awesome.

Reliability : No Opinion
Haven't gigged yet...but what could go wrong?

Customer Support : 10
Spoke with Dave at Avitar, helped me get what I need...great service.

Overall Rating : 9
All in all, great cab that anyone on any kind of budget would be foolish not to consider. You could get an 2 4x10's shipped for the price of an SWR, Eden, or Ampeg 4x10...why not? Only inprovements would be speakon inputs and removable casters, but for around $300 shipped, how can you complain?

4 10" Eminence Delta speakers (300W each) and a Foster horn. 3/4" plywood construction, plastic stack corners, and recessed handles.

Dimensions: 25H x 25W x 16.5D
Power-1200W
Impedence: available in 4, 8, or 16 ohm
Weight: around 70lbs.

The cab is rear ported with a port behind each speaker. Carpet covered, steel grill, and a jack plate with 2 inputs, also has a horn attenuator to control the horn level. Mine is the 8 ohm version. Construction seems very solid.

Sound Quality : 9
This thing sound tons better than the Carvin 4x10 it had...especially in the higher frequencies. The Carvin had a very harsh sounding high end while the Avatar is much smoother. The Avatar is not the lowest 4x10 out there but it can definitely handle the lows (honestly I prefer lows out of a 15 anyways). I've played through Peavey, Ampeg, Carvin, Crate, and SWR cabs and this is definitely one of the best sounding cabs I've played through. Probably won't compare much with higher end brands (Aguilar, Eden, EBS, etc) but for the money you can't beat it. Handles lows, mids, and highs nicely. The horn can be kinda hissy (although probably not any different than SWR and other brands)...but for my playing the horn will probably never be above a quarter of the way up anyways.

Reliability : 9
When I originally got the Avatar, 2 of the speakers magnets had shifted during shipping so I got those replaced for free since it was obviously under warranty. After that, I've had no problems with it. I won't blame Avatar for something that UPS did...so I'm still giving Avatar a high rating in this category.

Customer Support : 10
Through the whole speaker replacement thing, Dave at Avatar was totally cool with everything. What everyone said here is true...Dave is a super nice guy and is willing to help in any way that he can. Sometimes good customer support is hard to find in today's world...glad to see Dave is keeping good customer support alive.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 9 years and spent the good part of that time playing through combo amps (Crate BX100 and SWR Workingman's 15). I'm just now stepping into the world of high powered bass amplification. First was a Carvin R1000/4x10 rig and now I'm up to a Sansamp RBI preamp/Yamaha CP2000 poweramp/Avatar 4x10 and well this rig rocks compared to the Carvin (and the best part is they both cost about the same). I ditched the Carvin b/c I felt the tone was lacking in some areas...but with this rig the tone is exceptional! Only bad thing is, I now gotta save up for an Avatar 15 to go with the 4x10...but luckily with Avatar's prices it won't take me long to save up the money. =) If you're looking for a good bang for the buck cabinet I highly recommend Avatar.

4-ohm 4x10 + high frequency horn. Eminence Delta drivers rated at 300w RMS each for 1200w RMS power handling capability. Foster high-frequency horn. 3/4" inch plywood construction. Acoustic damping material inside, looks like carpet pad. 4 bass ports in the rear of the cab, behind each driver. Steel mesh grill. Steel recessed handles and jack plate. Plastic corners and black carpet-style covering. Thin wire for speaker leads - it would be nice to have some thicker lead wire here, especially since it is capable of handling 1200 watts.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using a Carvin B5 5-string bass with a humbucker in the bridge and a J-style pickup in the middle, into a SansAmp RBI and QSC RMX850 power amp (800 watts bridged @ 4 ohms). This cabinet sounds great! Nice strong midrange, deep tight bass and a detailed high end. Very transparent and full-sounding cab. The adjustable horn lends a lot of high-end bite to the sound, but watch out-it can hurt you if you turn it up high, or if you use a bit of overdrive. Since the RBI has tons of presence on its own, I usually keep the horn at about 25%. The cab is very tight - it never gets floppy or farty, even at high volumes when pounding on the low B. The strond mids lend nice punch and fullness to the sound. No complaints - awesome cab. The low price is just gravy on top.

Reliability : 8
Built like a brick house. It feels sturdy and solid in your hands and the construction and materials are excellent. Steel grille and carpet covering should hold up very well. Points off for having the horn ajustment knob sticking out - I can see that being bent or broken off pretty easily if the cab took a fall or a good impact in the back of the van.

Customer Support : 9
Great - it doesn't get much easier. Dave answers emails promptly and is easy to order from via email or phone. Never had a problem and don't expect to.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for many moons, grasshopper. If this were stolen, I'd certainly buy another. When I see the prices of gear from the big dog manufacturers, I just laugh and shake my head. I could buy four Avatars for the price of one high-end cab, and lose nothing in terms of sound quality or reliability. It is one of the first and only products I've seen in the industry where you get more than you pay for, and plunking down your dough for a big brand becomes a waste of money rather than a smart choice.
