4 delta speakers and foster tweeter handling 1400 watts, pretty damn nice

Sound Quality : 9
overall the cab sounds amazing.the tweeter is easily adjusted and can make your ears bleed if you want it to. it has pretty good bass response and it can get pretty low. i've been using my fender aerodyne custom fretless with a mahogany body, bartolini musicman pickup and tct 3 band preamp through a ashdown mag 300 and a swr 900 with it and it handles the barts very well. when comparing it to an aguilar 410 and a swr 410, this had better sounding distortion when i turned my trusty boss ds-1.

Reliability : 10
i have had this cab for over a year and a half and it has never crapped out on me. i dont have a backup but i really dont need one.

Customer Support : 10
dave is the all-knowing god of factory direct amps. he'll help you with anything.

Overall Rating : 10
this is the best cab you can get if you dont care about spending $800 or more on eden or swr. i'm in the process of saving up for the SB112 which will contribute to some chest punding bass, and i suggest the next cab you get be an Avatar.

I purchased my cab in 94' from a store in San Leandro Calif. It had 4 x 10" speakers and a horn with a varible attenuator on the back of the cab and 2 1/4" jacks Not much to report here just a very basic, ported 4 x 10" cab. The cab. was covered with really, cheesy and cheap black carpeting and a decent metal grille. However I discovered that one of the speakers was totally misdrilled and air was escaping from this errant hole.

When you removed the speker grille the plywood was not even sanded and you could see where someone had forgot to spray paint the lower left corner.

Note to QC team: Don't smoke out before shift!

Sound Quality : 3
At the time I was so happy to have an affordable 4x10" cab I thought it sounded pretty good. But in hindsite it was a cheaply made bass cabinet and it sounded cheap. Thin tones, weak speakers and it always sounded like it was on the verge of blowing speakers. It definatley had a very high-mid range sort of sound and very little lo-end. Weak all the way around. I think the speakers in the box were some really low-end celestions that suck ball.

Reliability : No Opinion
Ummmm... It never failed me, but it's worth it to purchase an Ampeg or Mesa cabinet and not play with a toy.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to use it, I sold this hunk after 3 years of use.

Overall Rating : 3
Albiet I purchased this cabinet a long time ago so maybe they have made vast improvements since then, but I would say don't even bother with it because you can get a slightly used ampeg or mesa setup for the same price and that is gear that is built to last. You get what you pay for.

This is a new 2005 B410 Delta 4 ohm cab. I have used my 2004 cab for a year now, with my Peavey Firebass 700 for bass, and I tried my Boogie Studio .22 guitar amp with it for guitar, and it also sounded great with my Les Paul Standard.

Sound Quality : 10
I have yet to find a limitation with this cab unless I try to get insane levels of volume out of it, and the amp's distortion protection kicks in.

Reliability : No Opinion
I have used it for a year without a backup. The only reason I bought the new cab was to run my amp at 2 ohms and to split my sound up to have bass on both sides of the stage.

Customer Support : 10
I have never talked with a more helpful owner/representative of a company than Dave or his staff, at Avatar. They are the best. Any concern is addressed, andy question is answered.

Overall Rating : 10
I got lucky and found this one being sold on e-Bay. It rocks. This rounds out my ideal bass amp.

2005 B410 Delta with dual 1/4" jacks and a speakon. This is my 5th Avatar cab, constantly changing and upgrading my rig to find the "Perfect" set-up. Went from 15's to 10's to get a more crisp sound. This 410 is under my B210 Avatar cab I bought last year. Playing through my Eden WT-800, it is a piece of heaven on earth. I've played Fender, Hartke, Eden and SWR cabs but for the money, I'll stay with Avatar.

Sound Quality : 9
I play R&B with my '02 Stingray 4 or '87 P-Bass. This cab never gets muddy like a 15, although I set the tweeter at about 9:00... dont use too much there. I can get the buttery sound or real biting with just a tweek of the EQ...

Reliability : 10
Never had a problem with an Avatar cab, but I ALWAYS have a spare everything!!!!!!!!!

Customer Support : 10
Dave's the greatest. If you need anything from advice on which cab to buy or a replacement part, he is there and ready to help!!

Overall Rating : 9
If it were stolen I would call Dave and have a replacement in my hands in 3 days.... he's awesome!!!!

Bought this year...straight up and simple, 4x10, Horn...we've all been over the features.

I don't need, want, or like a lot of bells and whistles...just more things that can go wrong.

Sound Quality : 10
I tend to alternate my basses between an Ibanez SR305DX, and a custom Steve Harris Tribute bass, running into an SWR 4004 bass head. Playing soul/jazz/funk, I need plenty of pop with a lot of bottom going. Extremely efficient power handling, and I can upgrade amps anytime, without having to think about what I'll do to my cabinets.

I actually put it to the test at a show in Ft. Lauderdale. I spent the rest of the night getting complements on my sound.

Reliability : 9
I never gig anything without a backup, but I don't worry about this dying in the middle of a show. It's living in its roadcase, and that's where it'll stay. If something were to happen, I've got an Avatar 2x10 waiting.

Customer Support : 10
Dave is THE MAN. You don't get better service anywhere.

Overall Rating : 10
If it gets lost or stolen, I call Dave and hook up another one. It's that simple. I've played SWR, Peavey, Behringer...I love this thing.

Features : 7
Pretty basic. Just 4 10 inch speakers in a box, and an attenuatable tweeter. It is what it is.

I rate as if this were a grade. 10 being grade A, 7 being satisfactory, 6 barely worth the money, 5 and below, just a waste of my time and money. So, this cab get's a "7" for features. What do you expect from it?

Sound Quality : 6
I play a 5 string Carvin. The bass itself is a good sounding bass. I record direct with it, and it has a great direct sound, lots 'o clarity, with a good top end. Not boingy like the Ibanezes, and other basses in this price range(yes, I played a ton of bases before I found this bass). SO I know what the bass sounds like raw. THis cab doesn't transmit that sound into the air. It makes a lot of noise if you give it a TON of power. But it doesn't give you what you put into it.

This is not a very efficient cab. It takes a whole lot of power to get it to talk to you. Not good for bass to tell you the truth. The Delta 10s have a short Xmax, and aren't all that great for bass. Read the data sheet from eminence, and learn to understand the T/S parameters of a speaker before you buy. It would have saved me some heartache. I've used a 400 watt (1/2 of a Peavey CS800) into and it just doesn't talk. I put a 900W (QSC of some sort) amp on it and it started to sing. I don't particularly care for the sound. Hard to explain really. It's there, and it gets loud, but it's not particularly articulate. It just is what it is. An inexpensive 410 bass cab. I got less than what I expected. But, I can't complain TOO much. It does work, and make a lot of sound if you want to lug around a huge Power amp.

It barely makes the grade with a "6" on sound.

Reliability : 7
How do you rate reliability on something like this. It does what it's supposed to. So, it meets my expectations and get a satisfactory "7".

However, I must note. THe capacitor used for the crossover on this cab was hot glued to the jack-plate, and had come off the jack plate between the factory, and my house. This can be a concern, but hasn't really affected the reliablility of it.

One of the jacks on the jac plate is broken now (after about 1.5 years of use). It hasn't effected the other jack, but it's kind of discouraging. I can fix it in about 10 minutes if I felt like it, but I'm lazy. :P So, it still works, I just can't daisy chain it (don't want to anyway).

Customer Support : 10
The folks at Avatar are pretty down to earth and were eager to answer my questions. They seem to want to bend over backwards to help you out. I odered their B15 to go under this cab, and all they had was a B115H (with the tweeter in it). So they sent it to me at the price of the B115. So, I got a free Capacitor, and fostex tweeter. Super cool.

Overall Rating : 7
Overall rating is based on the price, and performance aspect. You get a 1400W cab for less than 400 dollars. You can't expect it to outperform the 800+ dollar cabs out there. Bang for the buck is great. It's just not something I want to record with again. Also, consider this thing is HEAVY. WHen you pick it up by the handles it pitches forward. Oh, and you will want a friend to help you move it. Yea, you can get it into the truck yourself before the gig, and maybe even pull it out when you get there. But at the end of the gig, you don't even want to look at the thing.
SO the overall rating is a very Healthy "7". I see Avatar offers different speaker models for this cab now. Wish they affered them when I bought it. Looking back I would have researched the drivers in it a bit closer. THey are MID RANGE drivers. Seems to do fine for my 4 string Fender, but playing a 5? Fugetaboutit. You'll send these thing into overexcursion pretty quick, and they'll break up.

This is a new 2004 B410 cabinet. 4 ohm. Ordered and delivered in August 2004. It has 4 10" Eminence speakers, a Foster horn, 2 1/4" phone jacks and a speakon connector, all wired in parallel.

Sound Quality : 10
I play mostly "classic rock" and some light jazz. Mostly fingered, some pick and a few slaps. I found the cabinet to be very "honest". It sounded like the settings on my amp. When I changed the settings to sound flat, it sounded flat. When I turned up the bass and added some color, the cabinet responded with no problem and very predictable. I had the horn set to 1/2 or the 12 o'clock position. I heard none of the noise that others have complained about and I had it set to a moderate playing volume. When I de-tune the "E" string to a "D" to play Creed tunes, the cabinet sounds great. I'm driving it with a Peavey Firebass 700. I gave it a 10 because I found it had the same or better sound quality than the Ampeg 410 cabinet I a-b'ed it with. The Avatar was less than 1/3rd of the price.

Reliability : 9
I would use this cabinet without a back-up. I would consider another B410 or perhaps a B115 as a second cabinet, but only if I get a gig playing the Los Angeles Coliseum.

Customer Support : 10
When it was delivered, it had a broken corner protector, probably due to shipping and handling. A replacement was sent as soon as I called. Dave is everything that has been said about him here. If only Compaq/Hewlett Packard had this kind of customer support...

Overall Rating : 10
I bought this cabinet to gig as a bass player. I'm originally a guitar player and I've owned Mesa Boogie, Yamaha, Marshall and Peavey amps and cabinets. This cabinet has construction to rival any others I've looked at. I would buy another cabinet, but I can't afford a divorce lawyer right now. If I lost this cabinet somehow, I would replace it with another Avatar.

Likes...
1) Recessed control/input panel. Deep enough that the horn control won't hit anything.
2) Looks. This cabinet looks great. Well finished and very practical.
3) Sound. It has all the volume I need to keep up with 2 egos, I mean guitar players with Line 6 amps.
4) Price. There is nothing that compares with this cabinet for less than $800 in the Guitar Center/Mars Music realm.

Dis-likes.
1) It's a very heavy cabinet. I carried it up a staircase without an ambulance standing by. Dangerous. I recommend buying the casters or getting a set of removable casters. You might want to keep beer around for your roadies...
2) Avatar should sell speaker cables with their cabinets. $25 for a speakon cable that's only 9 feet long?!? Dave, help!

Cabinets I shopped before buying this one...

Peavey, both of the 410 cabinets. The normal one and the one with the upgraded speakers. I thought it only sounded good with 2 cabinets.

Ampeg, The 410 sounded thin and I didn't want to pay for and move a SIFT 810.

SWR, I thought it was similar to the Peavey cabinet, just more expensive.

Trace Elliot. Too much flash, not enough meat.

Fender. I don't like the sound of any Fender cabinet, regardless of the speakers that are in them.

Mesa Boogie, I like the guitar amps, but the bass cabinets were way over-priced and didn't impress me with the sound, but that might have been the amp or the small demo room at GC.

I was hesitant to buy a cabinet that I haven't heard. The price was definatly a factor in this decision and I was not disappointed. The 14 day return policy was my deciding issue. If I decided it sucked, I could send it back and only be out the shipping costs. I felt it was a reasonable risk. I'm glad I took the chance. I really like the cabinet.

Made in 2002. 4 OHM version. Front ported version, carpet covered, two handles, added casters.

Sound Quality : 4
Not at all what this thing was made out to be. Very dissappointed in the sound. Very thin and sterile.. Loud, but no balls. Played it with a Stingray and GK700RB head. Sounded good for the slapping and popping thing, but deep lowend was non-existent. Anemic sounding..

Reliability : No Opinion
Didn't keep it long enough to say.. The grill was cheap.. I guess if you have to cut cost somewhere.. that's the place to do it.. People rave about the low cost, but it's really not that much cheaper than some GOOD cabinets out there.. Learned that the hard way.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've heard great things, but I didn't bother..

Overall Rating : 5
This is one of the most dissappointing purchases I've made. These things came so highly recommended that I thought I couldn't go wrong.. Well.. I was wrong.. This thing was not what it's made out to be, and really not all that cheap.. People rave about the low prices, but much nicer gear can be had for not much more.. Equipment is a very subjective thing, so I suggest you try one yourself.. I think they have a 14 day return policy.. I didn't feel like boxing this monster up to ship it back.. of course I did after I eventually began to hate looking at it..

I purchased the B410 cabinet in October 2003. I use it for rehearsal and gigging on a regular basis. My rig consists of various eq's, effects (including a Behringer Bass V-Amp Pro), and a Peavey digital 400w power amp. I play a Rick 4003 and a Yamaha 5-string. These speakers will allow me to use a variety of settings and haven't disappointed me yet. The tweeter adjustment comes in handy to get that extra punch or turn down for more bass.

Sound Quality : 10
The Eminence speakers put out an unbelievably crisp and clean sound. I replaced a Hartke 4X10 cabinet with this one, and there's no comparison. The Hartke sounds distorted in comparison, and I'd put the Avatar cabinet up against an Ampeg any day.

Reliability : 10
After eight months, I've never had a problem out of it. I have no qualms about using this as my one and only at a gig.

Customer Support : 10
So far, I haven't had any problem with the cabinet, so no real need for customer support. HOWEVER, I have had to ask Dave a couple of questions regarding adding another cabinet. He's always been quick to respond, and extremely friendly and helpful.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing bass since 1967. I've owned every kind of speaker cabinet--from Fenders to Kustoms (remember those?) to Peavey, and several in-between we won't mention. The Avatar B410 is by far the best sounding bass cabinet I've ever heard or owned. In the event this cabinet was stolen, I'd IMMEDIATELY order another just like it. I'm planning to add a B210 cabinet this summer.

2003, 4x10 eminence speakers, Foster horn w/ volume control, carpet covering, daimond shape metal grill, and port.

Sound Quality : 5
The Cab only sounds good at low volumes, For 1400 watts this things dosn't put out very much. The cab gets very distorted and muddy sounding, not at all clean sounding, unless used at a super low volume. The foster horn is very noisy and in my opinion should be replaced with a higher quality horn. It has a fairly decent tone when it is at a low volume. I use a Fender P-bass and mxr di+ direct box, with a trace elliot power amp and a yamaha pb-1 pre amp, all rackmount. My old Head was a peavey 300 series bass head. This cab dosn't have a very fat sound. I was playing the Ampeg 410hlf and fell in love with the extended low range, and Avatar dosn't produce even half the tone that comes from the ampeg. I research the speakers used, and they are actually meant for midrange in 3-way pa systems, or keyboards. I have owned this cab for over a year, and have literally put it to the test with many gigs and different head combinations, I have tried so many different eq pedals and tone controls to fix this cab's tone, at this point it is hopless.

Reliability : 4
The cab isn't very reliable, it seems like you will never know what sound your gonna get next. Even with a very powerfull top of the line trace elliot head this cab cab cannot cut through the mix.

Customer Support : 9
Very Good customer support, and fast shipping

Overall Rating : 3
Honestly Don't buy this cab unless your on a super tight budget and you play soft Jazz rock, or hardly play bass at all. Over time you will realize the flaws with this cab. In my opinion you should just save up and get an Ampeg or a SWR. Don't fool with this cab get something that will be reliable and will sound great.

Features are great! has everything i need. From Funk to Slap to Jazz. Everyone that sees my rig think it looks cool until played. then they are surprised by this 410. it carries 1,400 watts rms of bottom end. i use a crown xs 500 and it cranks out 1,600 watts bridge. i'm always turn to because i'm too loud. but easy adjusted. i was always to soft or can barely hear myself play.

Sound Quality : 10
the sound is amazing. i can be very low, or brittel. brittel sounds awesome when you slap, or when you use a pick. when i turn down the horn to like a quarter, it sounds very deep and think, like jazz. i have a fender 4 string and a rickenbacker 4 string. pretty soon a conklin 6 string.

Reliability : 10
this thing has taken a beating. i have 4 bands (not including jazz band for highschool, drumline for high school, and marching band for high school) and it just kicks ass. the corners are barely starting to shred down. i take it every where.

Just got this amp a short time ago. 4 ohm option. SUPERIOR construction! Solid wood with reinforced corners and a full-strength, diamond pattern steel grill covering the speakers. Has 1/4" inputs on the back. The reason I give this cab a 9 vs. a perfect 10 is this: 1) there's a distinct lack of information on the rear plate - I'd like to at least be told what is what and have some techinical info about what the small dial is for! (its for the tweeter) and 2) I really wish Avatar would invest a bit more money and have a switchable ohm load option. I bought the 4 ohm version simply because I knew that I'd most likely only ever have 1 cab and I wanted to be able to take advantage of all the wattage my small amp could deliver. I only have 200watts available to me @ 4 ohms. If I'd gone with the 8 ohm version, I'd have less than 120watts unless I spent more money and bought an extension cab. Oh well, it was a choice!

Sound Quality : 10
I play an active Carvin B4 with flatwounds. I spent the better part of a month traveling to various music stores around my part of the world with this rig/amp under my arm playing it through various cabs. I can HONESTLY say that the only cab I heard that I liked a bit more (and it was a *small* bit more) was the Ampeg PR-410HLF - of which, the cheapest price I found was a bit less than $1050!!!

Reliability : No Opinion
I haven't had any problems yet - less than 3 months ownership - but I can't see any coming, either. This thing is built like a bank valut!

Customer Support : 10
Dave is the best! He helped me arrive at my decision on ohms and features and was never short tempered or quick with me during the four times I called! I can't recommend Avatar and Dave highly enough!

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing off and on for over 12 years. I've owned Ampeg and Peavey amps prior to this and neither were as satisfying as this rig is now. I can literally shake the crap off the shelf with this setup! And the TONE! INCREDIBLE!

If this cab was stolen, I'd replace it without hesitation.

Standard front bottom shelf ported 4x10 with adjustable horn. I think I purchased mine new sometime 2001/2002. Looks nice and feels pretty indestructible. Problems... WAY too heavy for an inexpensive 4x10. My 2x15 is lighter. Metal recessed handles are uncomfortable and placed so that the front heavy cabinet is unnecessarily awkward to carry. Hurts your hands/wrists to carry by yourself (leaves marks), wants to fall forward when carried with a buddy. If you have your heart set on buying one of these, make sure you get the casters. Back panel is a cheap piece of thin soft metal and the knob sticks out far enough where it can easily be damaged. These design issues could easily be corrected for next to nothing, yet they're still there.

Sound Quality : 7
This cabinet sounded great in a bi-amp situation with my Hartke 2x15, powered by a GK800rb. Solo, not so good. I thought my 75 Jazz had developed dead spots.... turns out it was the cabinet. Some notes loud, some notes not. Claims to be 1400 watts RMS... it might be if you don't play the e string below the 7th fret. My GK is 300 watts. With the volume at around 5 and the bass eq turned up only an extra 1/8, the cabinet would distort and make me fear blowing the speakers. My drummer hits light with 7a's and this cabinet couldn't cover him. My advice to any current owners is to rip the worthless horn out. You'll increase the lacking low end around %10(still not enough) with the extra port hole. You get what you pay for with this cabinet.

Reliability : 8
The top input jack ceased to function after only 6 months. Luckly it didn't happen to me while mid song at a gig. This cab was babied, never dropped, kicked, etc. Speaker cords were never yanked on or out. I'm baffled as to what went wrong. I give it an 8 because the lower jack still worked.

Customer Support : 10
Dave is the greatest guy ever. I bought this new off ebay and his communication was stellar. Shipping was extra fast and the packing was very, very solid. Plus, Dave left me wonderfully kind positive feedback. Excellent, excellent, excellent in this department.

Overall Rating : 7
I've been playing bass for 14 years, and have been gigging and recording regularly for the last 12 or those. Before this cabinet, I've always played 2x15's... I became bored of the tone and decided to try something different. The biamp set up sounded great (with the 2x15), but ended up being way too much stuff to haul. I tried playing this thing on it's own and it just couldn't cut it, plus it just totally sucked to carry. So I sold it. Ended up buying an SWR Triad instead and couldn't be happier with that decision. The triad is roughly the same size, lighter, louder, much, much more balanced and responsive, plus... super easy to transport. The used Triad was just a little over $100 more than the new Avatar(including shipping), and is infinately better. This marks the last time I buy anything without hearing it first. I give this Avatar B410 an overall score of 7 with the idea of 1 being a broken 50 watt practice amp and 5 being a Peavey TNT. My advice; save your money and buy something better.

2004 Avatar B410 cab. 1400 watts Rms. Four Eminence Delta tens front slot ported. 2 1/4 inch inputs and tweeter level knob on the back. I wish it had Speakon because it would give more options, but this cab is sweet!

Sound Quality : 10
This cabinet sounds amazing. I put it to the test with my friends Ampeg 610 cab and it held it's own. Amazing tone. Anything from sparkly highs, transparent BALANCED mids (hard to find on a cab!) and surpringly good lows. I couldn't believe a cab at this price could sound this professional! you can literally get just about any tone you want on this cabinet. If you turn the tweeter knob up to high (past 1/2 way) than it gets a little hissy, but ive never seen a cab that didnt. A little heavy, but compared to Eden or ampeg its a light load. This cabinet is better than any other 410 box ive played through hands down, including eden 410XLT. The only difference is the XLT projects more bass on stage because of the extra port up top, but I love this cab more than the Edens!

Reliability : 10
Avatar's Service is unsurpassed. When i got my cab, one of the magnets shifted in transit and it sounded distorted on the upper left ten, but I called Avatar, Dave picked up on the first ring and shipped me out a new one FREE of charge AND shipping. Other thn that (which was NOT his fault, it was FedExs) i havnt had a problem. Ive owned it for about 5 months and its been from Georgia to NorthCarolina To Wash, DC and all over the south eastern region and it still works great!

Unbelievable service. I mean unbelievable. When I had the problem with my ten, i called dave, he shipped me a new one no questions asked. No anwer service, no holds, no transfers or frustrating waits. It was immediate. When we found out that that speaker had the same problem, i called him again, and he OVERNIGHTED me a new ten for free. I put it in, works fantastically! Try getting that kind of service with hartke aweful service) or SWR. Youll be on the phone with those guys all week AND they made me pay shipping! Should be a rating of 12 for this one.

Ive been playing for 2 years. I started on a hartke 210 can and a 15 which was ok, but when I got in a band i needed better and more efficent speakers than i had. I did some research and found avatar. I figured id buy a 410 for under 400 dollars, and if i didnt like it i could return it and get a refund. NO CHANCE! you couldnt pry this think away from me. Im going to buy the 15 when they get restocked. I lover the fact that its a totally unique Cab. The sound is unique. SWR doesnt have it, neither does eden. The sound with my bass (MusicMan Sterling 4 string) in ungodly. I still use Hartke amps (3500) and it sounds amazing. The cab is 1400 watts but can easily take much less power and still sound outrageous. with my 350 watt amp, i normally play on 3 or 4 with a drummer and two guitarists and it sounds fat and punchy! once i get my 1400 watt QSC power amop and eden preamp, im going to add the Avatar B15h and its going to sound like i am the GOD OF THUNDER! haha.
I chose avatar because honestly, it was cheap. Im not rich, and i figured if it sucked id send it back because of their guarantee. everyone should seriously take a long hard look at this cab. For the kind of quality and service you get out of 400$ you seriously cant go wrong!

Avatar B410 4-ohm cab. Most likely made in extremely late 2003 or most likely early 2004. Purchased it in February 2004. Has the Speaker-On jack and 2 x 1/4" jacks. You can find the exact features on other reviews or on the avatar website: www.avatarspeakers.com. Looks great. Yes, it's not tolex, but the black carpet is really nice looking and the black grill is AWESOME. The pictures on the website DO NOT do it any justice at all. You owners of this item know what I mean!

Sound Quality : 10
I play an Ibanez SRX400 that has a PFR-AL alnico magnet pickup and PHAT II active bass boost through an Ampeg B5R (350W @ 4ohms / 500W @ 2ohms). Mostly for alt/modern/heavy-ish rock type sound. It handles it superbly. I've tried out the Ampeg 4x10s, SWR 4x10s, and the GK 4x10s with my same amp and I'd have to say that I like the Avatar much better than the SWR and GK easily. I only like the Ampeg 4x10 more as it can get audibly lower than the Avatar but the cost makes me forget about that quite easily. Don't get me wrong though. I play a 4-string bass so I personally feel the Avatar does the job very nicely! I knew the B410 wasn't going to give me the lows of a 15", but I'd have to say that it still rocks the socks off of me and my bandmates (a loud drummer, plus a loud lead, plus a loud Marshall AVT150H half stack!). I'm going to add the B115 very soon for a total rig when I need that crazy, all-out sound. But I've gigged with the Avatar B410 for about 5 gigs now with rooms from small to large, and it has fit the bill everytime. No complaints at all. My Ampeg B5R is made for overdrive and it outputs it greatly. I can go from super smooth (clean channel only) to warm, fat overdriven sound and the Avatar doesn't flinch at all. The only time the Avatar starts to even show signs of peak is my fault when I put on massive overdrive on the B5R (trust me, I don't know WHY anyone would want that much overdrive aka farting, but the B5R gives you that option). But when I dial it in just right, from warm to overdriven aggressiveness, the Avatar comes through like a champ. As for the hiss comments some people make, I believe it's mostly the amps doing, and only a bit of the Avatar's. Of course, it is hardly anything compared to the crazy hiss/hum of the rhythm and lead guitar and in rehearsal or on stage, it's inaudible. But there is some there at high amounts of gain and if I can't stand it, I just turn the tweeter-setting down on the cab even lower or I turn down the treble a bit on my amp. Overall, the B410 sounds like it can handle much more than my Ampeg B5R can reasonably throw at it. Conclusion: Sound for this cab? Superb.

Reliability : 10
Used for two months heavily and it is super dependable since the day I got it. Use it on gigs without even a slight feeling of needing a backup. I think only sheer negligence would cause this baby to break down any time soon. The sheer weight alone makes you think this! I guess that is the only thing I kinda would've wanted to have less of, but hey, you want the good stuff? Ya gotta deal with it. The connection plate and connectors on the back are of great quality and are solid. No cheap stuff on ANY part of the cab. The casters they send are perfect. I hate casters that are solid plastic. These are super-hard rubber and make lugging this thing a breeze. I strongly suggest getting these casters! Easy to install. Conclusion: Ultra reliable.

Customer Support : 10
Customer support, just like everyone says, is far beyond excellent. It is as supportive as you can get from any company, any time, any where. Dave and company are pleasant to deal with and go out of their way to give customers what they want. Period. HIGHLY COMMENDABLE!

Overall Rating : 10
Fantastic value all around. I haven't been playing bass for too long but I am a gear fanatic. I research the CRAP out of everything and spend my hard-earned cash on stuff I like and would recommend. The Avatar B410 fits all my requirements for a price that I thought I would pay SO much more for. Excellent. I can understand if you are thinking "I don't buy anything I can't see, hear and touch". Well, I felt that way too. But after reading all the high praised reviews, I felt it was very low risk to go with Avatar. And knowing what I know now about it since I now own it, check this out: It's no risk at all. If you are looking for value plus no-excuses comparability to all the cabs available out there, rest assured, it is just that. I would even go out of my way to say that even with all value aside, the difference between this cab and the other cabs gets down to personal preference of sound. It is that comparable. Enough said.

I have been playing for I've been playing around 5 yrs. I've played out of: ampeg 8X10, peavey 1X15, Carvin 1X18, Carvin 1X15, AMD 1X15, Ampeg 2X10, Peavey 1X12, and a lil fender practice amp. I love this 4x10. Very versital, I really like my svt 3 head also. I did not like the carvin 1X18. I borrowed the amp for a show and had it blow on me. The volume was prolly a third of the way... sad. I liked the ampeg 8x10, but it was way to big. Really hard to bring up stairs and a pain all around. I liked the sound I had out of the peavy 1X15. All the other amps... ehh..

The only thing I wish was different.... I wish it weighed about 30 pounds less. Its hard to carry around. I put casters on it right away. Other then that. Its got great highs and great lows. Very happy with it.

B410 built 2003 purchased new. features a 3/4 inch PLYWOOD cabinet with strong dadoed joints and is loaded with four heavy duty American Made Eminence 10 inch DELTA Bass Speakers and Foster tweeter (with adjustable volume pot). These Eminence Delta 10's have 56 oz magnets and 2.5 inch voice coils and are rated at 350 watts RMS each speaker. The four 10's combined are rated at 1400 WATTS RMS.

I am with holding a perfect 10, since they don't offer twistlock connectors--even as an option.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a Warwick Corvette Standard 6, with active p/ups. I run it from my Carvin R1000 head (giving it the full 1000 watts) and have no problem keeping up with guitarist half stack and keyboards and vocals. I just go straight into the amp>>cabinet, no effects.

The cabinet produces lots of punch, it keeps up with exuberant rock buddies, but also has the capabilities of producing a nice round jazz sound for my jazz combo.

I usually have the horn at about 25%.

Reliability : 10
I treat my gear well, but this thing seems like it was built to last. I have had it 8 months, gigging around 1-2 month, rehearsing 1x week. Not a single issue.

Our band plays everything from classic 60's rock to funk to modern dance music with lots of low end. We play from small clubs to outdoor events and everything in-between. I've found this cabinet is able to crank out any sound I can send it...the only limit is me.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a stock Rick 4003, running a wireless bug into a Peavey 350w digital power amp. My effects rack includes a Behringer Bass V-Amp Pro (with midi pedals), Behringer DSP2024P processor and an ART 31-band EQ. The sound coming from my Avatar 410 is clean if I want it clean, punchy if I want it punchy, and booming if I so choose. I'm up against a guitar player with a Marshall 100w half-stack, and he tells ME to turn down. In my opinion, the sound coming out of these speakers match or exceed an Ampeg 4X10 cabinet.

Reliability : 10
The cabinet is sturdy, and I have no doubt it will hold up under almost any conditions. I have two backup cabs, but really have no need of them.

Customer Support : 10
Everybody is right...DAVE (owner) handles everything personally. I've never had an issue with my cabinet, but I have had to write for information about this and that--I always receive a prompt response that addresses my inquiry directly. No BS.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing bass for 35 years. Over those many years, I've tried all kinds of cabinets--from Fenders to Kustoms to Peaveys to Ampeg to Hartke. The Avatar speaker is hands-down the best sounding cabinet I've gotten my hands on.

This bass cab is quite loud. I only wish it had some other kind of connectors like banana plugs or speakon to loose as little signal as possible. Also casters ought to be removable but i also know these two features would bring the price up. The cab itself is solid and should last a long time. The tweeter sounds good but less is best. I use about a quarter of the tweeter output and the sound is very pure and does not distort at all. Very easy to get that old school sound when backing off the tweeter control.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound i get is very satisfying, i mean i love the low frequency i get from my Eden cabs but it seems to me that the Avatar sound is easier to hear, the frequency it puts out is very clean and hits you in the chest like a ton of brick. I play mainly blues and some old style rock ( Cream and Clapton ) and this cab is very clean. I'm sure that if i played more agressive music this cab would be up to it. I'm currently playing Deluxe American and Mexican Fender Jazz Basses through an Eden WT 800 or an Ampeg B2-R head and the sound is just awesome.I'm even thinking about selling my 2 Eden D-410 XLT because i also have an Avatar B-210 cab so i don't need that many cabs. So for these reasons and my experience ( 32 years playing music ) i'm rating this cab a 10.

Reliability : No Opinion
I've had this cab for about 2 months now so to be honest i don't really know the reliability, but given the short time i've had it, my B-210 i've had for 4 months, it ought to do the job. As for using it without a backup i never do that so no use in answering this question. Anyway i use both cabs so if one breaks down the other cab will do the job very nicely regarding the fact each one plays so loud. So for this reason i'm giving a no opinion vote.

Customer Support : 10
For having dealt directly with Dave and others i can say the Customer Support is very good. The first cab I bought I had it sent through FedEx ground and the money order i sent did not cover all the transport( i live in Montreal, Canada )but i didn't know i had some extra charge for this but they sent the cab anyway, and the next time i phone in to order the B-410 i told Dave that it cost more than the first cab so that's when he told me and he also told me that he sent it anyway. So for this reason i'm giving a ten.

Overall Rating : 10
As i've said i've been playing for 32 years and i've owned quite a lot of bass gears, Acoustic, Peavy, Electro-Voice speakers and what i love about this cab is its efficiency, i could use a 200 Watts amp and i'd have enough power to hear myself. Of course i compared it to my Eden cabs but since my Eden are 8 ohms and this cab is 4 Ohms i couldn't compare them one on one but i can say that the loudness of one B-410 is about the same as two Eden cabs in parallel, so i save on the weight of my rig( i don't have roadies ). For all these reasons i'm giving this category a 10.

Excellent features! 4-ohm model. Speakers, tweeder, port, and grill all very nice and solid. Everything down to the corners are great on this cab!

Sound Quality : 10
I play using a Peavey 4 Grind NTB through a Hartke 350 Watt head. Sounds GREAT. Wow! FULL range covered (especially if you have a nice pre-amp with eq. included with your head). Tweeder can be non existent or amazingly loud. I play a HUGE range of music and it fits me about perfect for every one. Works great for slap and pop or punk or jazz or anything. My only complaint would be there is a little distortion when I absalutely crank it (and I do have a big head, so it'd understandable.) Also, this is probobly my fault considering I got the 4-ohm model when I should have got an 8-ohm. (What can I say?).

Reliability : No Opinion
Haven't had to get it repaired or anything, doubt I will. It's very solid.

What a great cabinet! I'm definatley going to invest in a B215 for Christmas, not that I need it, because this thing is LOUD!!! This is seriously a true story: I was playing in a punk band, ending a phrase on a certain note, and the cabinet actually WALKED ACROSS THE GROUND because of the MASSIVE vibrations the thing was putting out! It actually managed to move itself despite the fact it ways 110 lbs with the head!!! How AWESOME is that? VERY impressed and happy! And don't even get me started on the VALUE compared to any other cab company.

2003 Model. Had it for about 3 months now. 4 Eminince 10" Delta Speakers and Foster Horn. 8 ohms. Front ported. Two 1/4" jacks and dial horn control. I had also heard that Avatar doesn't screw the speakers in tightly, so I checked and they were fine. Only a 9 because speakons might help.

This cab sounds freakin amazing. I'm running my 1999 Warwick Corvette Standard 5 string through 2002 SWR Workingman's 2004 200 watt (140 watts into 8 ohms, which is what this cab is) head with a Behringer MDX1400 Compressor in the effects loop. The sound this cab cranks out is awesome. I like to play Incubus' S.C.I.E.N.C.E and if you hear Dirk Lance's tone on that album you would melt. I like to think that my tone is similar, and this cab has no problem helping me reproduce it. I bought this because I had previously bought the SWR Workingman's 2004 stack package (with a 2x10 and 1x15), and sold the two SWR cabs to get this one. Before I got rid of the SWR cabs however, I A/B-ed the Avatar with the SWR cabs. The 2x10 and 4x10 sound exactly the same, and I know what I'm talkin about; I've been playing trumpet for 8 years and bass for almost 5 years now. The SWR 1x15 obviously has a little less trouble with the lows than the Avatar 4x10, but that is to be expected. I just turned up the bass control on the head and the Avatar could easily match the SWR. I had also heard that the horn was noisy compared to other cabs, but I could hear no difference between the Avatar and SWR. I can't wait to scrounge some money together so I can match this with the Avatar 1x15. And because the 1x15 is even cheaper than the 4x10, that shouldn't take too long.

Reliability : 10
I would put money down that this would withstand more abuse than the SWR's could.

Customer Support : 10
Dave is awesome. Hands down the most personal company I have ever dealt with.

Overall Rating : 10
I'm definately getting the Avatar 1x15 to match with this. Would absolutely positively 187% get a new one if it was stolen. And then I would seriously injure the guy whole stole it from me too.

I gigged at the recent NASCAR event in Fontana and the 410 gave great bass sound outdoors. This against a loud rock band with two guitars and a substantial PA system. I have the 4 ohm model and played at 300 watts without a hitch.

Sound Quality : 10
Nice tone, great volume and it handled thick bass grind. Speakers handled slap tones to pure ringing single notes very well.

Reliability : 10
I played for almost 5 hours LOUDLY. I mistakenly turned down the horn volume control all the way and fried it during the last song (my fault). Dave advised me not to do that and replaced the control for FREE in two days. That guy is wonderful for service!

Customer Support : 10
I have SWR, Gallien Krueger and Carvin stuff. None of these fine companies come close to the service from Avatar. With Avatar you get DAVE and he cares about you and your bass happiness. It sounds corny, but he is the best around.

Overall Rating : 10
If you play bass loudly and wish to be asked to turn down rather than turn up this would be a good rig to buy. The unit is solid, sounds great and the company is there to be sure you get great sound cheaply.

This is the new 2003 8 ohm model with a front port along the bottom. It has 4 eminence delta lf speakers with 56 oz magnets that come to a total of 1,400 watts rms! There is also a nice foster tweeter. It has a nice diamond pattern steel grill on the front. Horn volume level on the back and with in and out 1/4 inch imputs. You can have all woofer or a lot of horn to give you different tonal capabilities. 3/4 inch. plywood built with the big plasitc corner handles. You will not be dissapointed.

Sound Quality : 10
I play mainly hard rock to metal, what a wide range. The speakers have not distorted so far at the 300 watts my amp puts out at 8 ohms. These speakers can really punch out the jams. They are punchy but not too punchy to give just the right sound. My bass really determines the tone but everything is clear and tight, nothing muddy at all even with the tuned down low end A string which I was suprised about.

Reliability : No Opinion
I've only had it for a day and nothing has gone wrong. It was packaged extremely well by avatar and was not damaged at all from shipping.

Dave is extremely nice and friendly. He emailed me the same day when I had questions with his anwer. The website is www.avatarspeakers.com and is easy to find. It comes with a 14 day return policy, you take care of shipping, and a 1 year warranty. I wish it had say a 2-4 year warranty like the bigger manufactures but I probably won't even need it because these speakers are soo good.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 3 years and have heard some, but not a lot of amps. I have an Ashdown Mag 400 bass head that puts out 500 watts at 4 ohms and is extemely clean. I would by this cab again if it were stolen or lost. This cab is the absolute best and all around bass cabinet you can buy for the money and is extremely comprable to even vey expensive swr or ampeg cabs. I don't understand how SWR or Ampeg cabs can cost so much but when you look at their specs they're not even as good as the Avatar bass cab is. A comprable bass cab to the Avatar at $340 would be an Ampeg or SWR at $700-800.

great construction. it seems very solid. good components i.e. drivers, horn etc. i think that the grill could have

i play classic rock and blues and i play VERY LOUD. this cab handles all i can throw at it without really breaking up. the horn was a little
hissy but hey that's fostex for you. it adds a nice slap contour anyways. overall this cab has more grunt than i'll ever need it cut right through
my guitarist's 100 watt marshall halfstack. i wish that it had a little more low-end to it but that's what 2x12's and 1x15's are for.
