Good for upright use. Lots of beginning jazz players use this until they buy the acoustic image. But this can support small bar gigs with an electric bass. Your amp will distort before the speaker does. Clear tones, deep and rich. Be aware that the sound is much louder 15 feet away, especially in long clubs.

Killer construction. Nary a scratch on mine, no evidence of wear after loading and playing for years. 5 year warranty, extremely well made cabinet. Weakness might be the open port = like a little screen door would really help.

Never dealt with them, Bass NW in Seattle is one of the few dealers out west - they are crazy about these speakers. http://www.bagend.com/

I've been playing upright and electric (p-bass, music man 5) and used this through a GK 800, an SWR amp and a mesa boogie amp. The more power there is, the better it sounds. An amazing speaker for its size. You put tone in, you get tone out. Used or new, a great balanced medium volume speaker.
