Standard setup for an 8x10, no horn, no kick panel in the back to put your foot on when pivoting so I'll wear out the very ugly carpet eventually, but still a sturdy box. No metal front gril and a very ugly silver grill cover as well, not a vintage Febder lok at all. Heavier than anything, had to debate wheather or not to keep it because of tour, but the sound is too amazing to pass up. Love hate relationship. Middle of the road for features, a 5 is fair.

It first it sounded terrible, I didn't know what was wrong, but this thing is really picky on what heads you use. But I threw my Sunn 300T in front of it and it was magic. Alot of lows that make your highs even beefy. But a major lack of highs with no horn, if you play with high treble its loses its presence. More beautiful overtones, sparkle, and beef than any 8x10 I've ever played though. Set it up next to my Ampeg 8X10 the Ampeg farted notes out compared to this. Nuff' said.

Brand New 2007 Basson Sound 810B Bass Cabinet. This thing is built like a tank, literally! The pull-back bar on this thing reminds me of the handrails in a bathroom handicap stall. It is industrial strength tubing for the handle, so that's not going anywhere. Also has long rails bolted to the back so when you slide the cabinet alongside something, it doesn't damage the cabinet. 2 speaker-on connections for the inputs, one for the main, and one for the extension cab. Also has 2 giant wheels that in the tilt-back position, come in very handy when moving this beast. The 8x10 speakers are covered in an awesome silver cover with a chrome name plate and front mounted ports. This thing demands power, up to 2000 watts, and I'm pushing it mono-bridged with my Amgeg SVT4 Pro and Spector Euro-4 bass guitar.

The sound on this thing is unreal. I don't even know where to begin. I play a Spector bass running through an Ampeg SVT4 along with a BBE Sonic Maximizer and the tone I get is ungodly sick. I can back off the bass and run a killer, sleazy Lemmy tone that is beyond amazing, or crank the bass and let the walls start coming down with those 8x10's. But it will never muddy those low notes, they are always clear and defined. As far as the high's go, this cab allows them to run virtually non-existant to all the way up to ear-piercing loud, and it will not break up one bit. I must say I have definately played my fair share of cabinets over the years from Peavy to Madison to Ampeg, and this cabinet has such a refined sound to it that the others just cannot touch. As far as different playing styles go, I can play fingers, pick, and slap and they all have a clear, thunderous attack to the notes, especially slapping while hitting your thumb on 8x10's. It'll rattle your bones! I did get a chance to also tune my 4-string down to an Ab, which we actually used when recording a Van Halen cover tune if you can believe it with Gene Hoglan. The attack on an open Ab is beyond insane at 1600 watts, let's just say you OWN any room your playing in, hands down. All other instruments pale in comparison to that thunder, end of story! Once again there was no mud though, just gobs of bass tearing my garage apart, lol.

It's a bass cabinet, I plug it in and it works. The connectors are speaker-on, which are much more reliable then standard 1/4" connections. The construction is heavy-duty for sure, with giant plastic plates covering the corners so as to avoid any damage if hit. The rails along the back also serve this purpose. I see no reason to believe I'll have any problems anytime soon, and this thing is just built to be toured with.

Customer support is as good as it gets with this company. I don't know too many companies I can email/call the Customer Service Rep and get them every time, or at the very least have an email returned within the hour. I can surely say Shawn is one busy dude over there at Basson and I have nothing but praise for Basson's customer service!!! Excellent!

Overall I've been playing for just about 10 years now. This is the only cabinet I own at the moment, as I sold off my others in order to get this. It was the best decision I ever made regarding that. I must say this is the last brand I'll ever own, only I plan on getting another shortly to really bring the thunder. Along with the Basson 8x10, I do have the Ampeg SVT4 and Spector Euro4. I currently play in a thrash metal band featuring some pretty insane guitarists' and drummers, including members from Dethklok, Strapping Young Lad, Iced Earth, and Daath.....and I must say this cabinet absolutely rips and helps us create the most evil rhythm section possible for our guitarists' to solo over. I will never go back, all hail Basson! Oh, and if you don't take my word on these cabs if you've never played them, ask Nikki Sixx and I'm sure he'll say the same thing!

I bought the Basson sound B810B a little over 2 years ago. I have been playing bass exclusively for 16+ years, with about 5-6 years playing guitar and bass. I have owned almost every bass cab on the market. From the "Supposed" leader in the industry, to homemade. All of which pale by comparison to this cab. I no longer run a direct line into the PA with live performances. Upon first getting the Basson cab, I would play at levels that would get complaints up to a full block away. 3 different bars had noise complaints. I played a gig, and hastily buttoned up my trialer, not completely latching the tailgate. To my horror, my cab fell out, face down in the rain on a sharp turn. After assessing any damage, the only casualty was the corner pieces!! (which Shawn was quick to replace for a mere $10) The construction of this 230 Lb beast has proven to be unequalled.

Since adjusting my levels to a tolerable threshold, volume and DB's are not the only selling point of this cab--It is the UNBELIEVABLE tone of the cab. The MDF creates a resonance that commands the ear. THIS is how bass should sound. I play a 7 string bass tuned to F sharp, and no longer is there a muffled "blarb" of sound on the lower register. There is an unmistakeable clarity to this cab that sets it apart from any other. The 8, 200 ounce magnets have a tightness and reponse that simply blows the competition away. There is no longer an "abrasive" midrange tone that cuts your ear, but there is a dilectible range of sounds that are only limited by your fingers and ability. I have found that it helps my tendinitis to a huge extent because I don't find myself playing harder (unintentionally) to get the tone I want. The attack of the cab makes me work less, and enjoy more.

Even after a couple of years on loading and unloading, there are hardly any visible signs of wear and tear. Most other carpet covered cabs would have exposed cabinet areas, and visible seams. Not this one!! Even after dropping it out of the back of my rig, not a stitch (pardon the pun) of problems at all. The speakers remain clear and powerful, the cab remains to be an irreplaceable part of my sound. I play in a variety band as well as a thrash band, this cab covers it all with the greatest of ease. Smoothe lows, punchy powerful mids, and a clarity for the highs that will make you want to play 24 / 7 !!!!--or until nieghbors call the cops.

Shawn Green, is without a doubt, the best Customer Relations / Support liason there is. I haven't even had to look up any warranty information, nor have I looked for an authorized service dealer, since owning the cab. "No Worries", is the best way to describe the Bass cab, and it's company. If there is a problem, rest assured, Shawn will take care of it. He has answered my questions in a timely, and helpful manner. So if you want a cab that will leave you looking for a replacement in a year, look elsewhere -- this is the last cab you'll ever need, and you won't find yourself browsing for a replacement!

In an age where sound is getting heavier and heavier, bass needs to get lower and lower. I feel that you will not find a better cab on the market today. Unfortunately, most manufacturers rely on ad campaigns, their name, and overseas outsourcing to make a product popular in this market. This cabinet sells itself. The specs alone would make a bassist drool. 28 hz, 2000 watts, 230 Lbs. I run this cab with a QSC PLX series 3,600 watt power amp. As a "preamp section"--I use a "tripler" amp selector to 4 different preamps. GK for thrash, Ampeg SVP pro for classic, SWR for funk and Behringer for effects(V-amp pro, rack mounted). From there I run into a line mixer for volume levelling, then into a Alesis compressor (for punch)--then into my BBE (to add / subtract the low end, compression usually takes some away). I have my dream rig, and the only piece of equipment I wouldn't trade would be my BASSON!!! Please feel free to contact me, I have pics of my gear on MYSPACE, just look up my E-mail address.

The bass cabinet is made out of MDF which is very heavy, but MDF is better for sound so it's worth it's weight in gold. It's very well built, GREAT CONSTRUCTION. BUILT FOR THE OPEN ROADS! I play metal/hardcore and I play in drop C and also with a 5-string bass and I needed a cabinet that would be able to handle those low notes with aggresion and cut through the 2 guitarists and this cabinet does it beautifuly! It has a warm, deep, punchy sound that is also very brutal! THe speakers have 200oz MAGNETS ON THEM! Most bass speakers have about 35-60 oz magnets! The B810B basson cabinet also handles 28hz! This bass cabinet is the best around! If your not playing basson bass cabinets then your tone must suck, and thats sad.

A F*CKIN' BEAST! THIS THING WILL TEAR OFF YOUR BALLS AND EAT THEM FOR DINNER! This basson cabinet has very deep lows that are also very punchy and aggresive. It has a nice attack to it. THe highs are not as bright and brital sounding as other cabinets. The B810B's highs are warmer and are more pleasant sounding for the ear but they also clear so you get the most out of your highs. I have this thing running at 2,400watts RMS and i've cranked it full volume and it dosen't distort, IT SOUNDS AMAZING!

BUILT LIKE A TANK! I put a road case around it because i want to keep it looking nice because i love it so much, but lots of other players are using these cabinets without cases and traveling all over with them because they are so well built. My buddy who has one dropped his 5 feet off a truck on the road and the only thing that happened was the face got a little tore up. The rest of the cabinet was in perfect shape.

SHAWN IS THE BEST! The customer support ofbasson is amazing! They are very down to earth guys and want to make sure you are happy with your product. Even before i bought the cabinet, I was talking to Shawn Green and he was answering all my questions. Helping me to find out who makes cases for them, etc. Kept asking me if i plugged my cabinet in yet and what i thought of it just to make sure i liked it. They are amazing guys and i really enjoy talking to them because you can't get better customer support than the Basson Sound customer support!

I've been playing for 6 years and have played AMPEG, EDEN, SWR, FENDER, LOW DOWN SOUND, STEEL SOUND, CARVIN, EPIPHANI, Dr. BASS, MESA BOOGIE and other bass cabinets but NONE have compaired to Basson's bass cabinets or customer support. If my bass cabinet was lost i would find them and beat the living SH*T out of them and take itback. If i couldn't find it then i would deffinetly go out and buy 1 or 2 or 3 more. Just give basson a try. You won't regret it! You'll never go back to those sissy cabinets!

Playing in an extremely powerful metal band with two very loud guitarist, the bass cabs I was using couldn't cut through! I was getting a lot of distortion pushing my old bass cabs...and I hate distortion! I love a brutifully clear and thick sound that's extremely aggressive! I needed bass cabs that I can push to the limit! Well I found exactly what I needed with the Basson B810B bass cabs! These monsters have 8 10" BS1075 drivers that can handle 2000 watts @ 4 ohms. The B810B's frequency ranges from 28Hz-5kHz and each bass cab weighs in at 228 lbs! Heavy...but that's how I like it! These cabs are built for touring!

I have been a bassist for 18 years. I have a Aria Pro II "Steve Bailey" model 6-string fretless with two Ampeg SVT 4 Pro's running two Basson B810B bass cabinets. I will continue to use Basson sound equipment for as long as I'm playing. I love everything about these cabinets! They are exactly what I was looking for and I couldn't be happier!

Well, it's an 8X10. It has the standard "Dolly" design BUT it's front "Duct" (that's right, duct, not just port hole) design moves the air in such a way that you don't get that sloppy/muddy sound even at higher volumes. The handle is way beefy also, 2 1/2" stainless tubing. The casters are 3" with makes moving it up and down stairs not as much of a chore. 200 once drivers on each speaker also push this cab up to 2000 watts @ 4 ohms. It has split inputs, the top 4 speakers are wired together @ 8 ohms (1000 watts) and the bottom 4 are done the same way. You can run them parrallel @ 4 ohms to get 2000 watts. The skid rails are 1 1/2" stainless steal, not plastic like the ones that get thrashed on the SVT. And finally, no Tolex, they use the more durable cloth covering.

This thing has the spectrum cover as far as versitility goes. I'm using a Spector Eusopean neck thru W/EMG's, a Tech 21 RBI for tone and powering it with a Behringer 2500 power amp (great amp for the money by the way). The low end cut through so clearly, each not is easily distinguishable (sp?). If I adjust the Drive & Prezence on the RBI I also get a great distortion effect which the Basson just carries and melts your ears with. It's great for any application in the studio and a beast live, no one complains they can't hear the bass. My band loves the tone!

Their customer support is awesome! I haven't had any problems but just getting info/suggestions on powering this beast was a breeze.
The staff is very personable, knows their products and their COMPETETORS products. You don't get lost in a voice mail system either, you get your question addressed with with one call.

I've been playing for about 20 years now and have owned just about everything. If I didn't own it I at least tried it, (Friends don't let friends play Hartke.) and this is the best cab I've heard to date. At 2000 Watts you have more headroom than you will ever need. The only down side is the fact that it weighs 250 pounds. I love this cab, If my guitarist' had more power I'd be running two of them.
Just some info now (or common knowledge), you have to run enough power to any cab or it will blow. Never Under Power Your Equiptment!
Good luck trying to over power this but don't under power it.
