Features are well described below. No need to repeat them.

For $139, it's the best feature list I could find.

Sound Quality : 6
Good sounding amp at low volumes (below 5). Shape function gives some nice alternatives to simple EQ settings. Higher volumes produced an ugly rattle which I have somewhat calmed by tightening the Speaker screws. I have only one bass (an American Standard P-Bass) and it sounds really nice through it.

Reliability : 2
Have only owned it for about a week. Still getting unwanted rattles at high volumes and have to make the decision to either return it or just go to work on it myself (voiding the warranty). With shipping at around $30 and the original cost at $130, I'm leaning towards the DIY fixes. From the other posts, it looks like buying a 'good' one requires a bit of luck. Getting that rattle right out of the new box shows that Behringer pays little attention to production line testing as well.

Don't know (yet).

Overall Rating : 5
I've been playing guitar for 30 years and the bass for about 7. Have owned and played a lot of equipment and generally go for higher end equipment. I usually only record the bass using one of several direct-in approaches and only got this amp for some casual jamming (so I'm not a bass amp expert).

Picking an overall rating for this amp is a tough call. What should we expect for $139? The features and sound are better than the price reflects. But the Chinese manufacturing quality seems to suck. Then again, if Behringer paid for quality manufacturing they would have to raise the price. If you're like me and are willing to fix some of the manufacturing mistakes, it's a bargain (as long as they are fixable and not component failures).

Nice feature set considering that this was the cheapest 60w amp I could find... reasonable equaliser (bass, low mid, high mid, high), plus shape filter which really does give a nice bass sound, much fuller. Has connectors for passive / active bass, tape inputs, preamp out, power amp in (effects loop over the two), line out and headphone out. Good value for money features-wise.

Sound Quality : 8
I use the amp with a Tanglewood Rebel 4k bass, and I play a lot of different styles, all of which it copes with. Has enough low-end punch, but is a bit more powerful in the mid range. Sound quality is very nice, but an effects pedal would be worthwhile with it for a bit of variety. Very little noise as long as you use a decent quality cable. Best to set the shape filter to half way or higher, gives the output a bit more punch. Suprisingly loud for a 60 watter.

Reliability : 10
Never had any issues with it, and I don't get the impression I will in the future. I'd happily gig it without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with their customer support, luckily :)

Overall Rating : 9
Excellent value for money. Obviously less features, power etc than more expensive amps, but.. it's not an expensive amp so it's not an issue. Good sound quality, good power, good features, reliable, I'm happy.

Purchased new in Feb. 2003. The amp has many features found only in much more expensive amps.

Sound Quality : 1
After about 4 months of gentle use by my son as a practice amp, it developed a loud buzzing noise whenever an E note was played. This happens even at low volume.

Reliability : 2
After spending $20 to have it shipped to NYC for repairs, it came back exactly the same as I sent it. Still buzzes very loudly even at low volume. I would not possibley gig with this amp. Everyone would leave due to the anoying buzzing.

Customer Support : 1
I was unhappy with Behringer's policy requiring the customer to pay the shipping costs to an authorized repair center for a product that was still within the warranty. The customer service manager would not budge from the policy. Since getting the amp back still not inworking condition, I sent the customer service manager a letter 2 months ago. To date I have not received a response.

Overall Rating : 1
Been playing bass for about a year, guitar for 2+ years. I would never buy another behringer product of any kind. I wish it were stolen, at least then I could collect insurance.

I purchased the BX600 thru a 'friendly musician' mail order company for a practice / emergency back up amp. I played the BX600 for 15 seconds at medium volume and it broke down. I sent it back and ordered another BX600 and the same thing happened! I must admit that the amp sounded good and performed well for the 15 seconds. But I don't think I can afford enough of these amps that would be needed to get me thru a gig.

Packed full of features. Passive/Active inputs, stereo line in, effects loop, headphone jack, output jack, 4 band EQ with switchable Shape feature (changes shape of frequency curve).
I always leave the shape feature switched on with the dial between 2 and 4 oclock. It sounds a little thin and tinny without it. I like my bass sound bassy.
I use this amp for both rehearsal and gigging. I only play small venues with the occational bigger venue. The bigger venues either DI my bass to the PA through a separate DI box or use the built-in line out jack.

Sound Quality : 7
Using with a shitty fender p-bass copy. I have replaced the standard pickup with less-shitty squire affinity pickup.
Even with this shit setup I get an alright sound for what I am doing. That is, having fun playing at small local venues.
You have to tweak the EQ to get the sound you are looking for. This thing can kick out the lows, sometimes it gets too muddy for my liking though.
I thought the behringer was quiet until I had the pleasure of using a Peavey MKIV head through an EV 15inch speaker box. The behringer doesn't compare in tone or quietness. But its like comparing apples to oranges, not to mention the price difference.

Reliability : 6
It died after 2 weeks. Only used it for 2 rehearsals and 1 small gig before it died. I took it back to the shop I bought it from and they replaced it straight away. Had the replacement for 6 months now without a stuffing up.

The music store I bought it from were very helpful (http://www.musiccitysydney.com.au/).

Overall Rating : 9
Playing bass for only 1 year. Played guitar for 6.
I don't own any decent gear yet because I am a student with little to no money.
If it were stolen I would probably just hold out until I get the Behringer ULTRABASS BX3000T.
I love that it is smaller enough to fit into the boot of my car (along with my bass) and it can get quite loud for a 60 watter.
I chose to buy this amp due to price only. I didn't even listen to it before buying. I haven't been disapointed.
Just remember what you are buying when you hand over your AU$320, a cheap, no thrills bass amp. It will get you through rehearsals and some small gigs (if guitarist keeps his JCM800 down).
Based on this experience I am looking forward to trying out the Behringer ULTRABASS BX3000T. I hope it does as well as this amp.

This is a 1 Channnel amp. with 1 passive and 1 active phone plug connections:The are a little to frail to consider regular gigging. I would consider this a light use amp.
Key Features: Are all of the FRONT ACCESS connections: Quick and easy to connect and disconnect when recording etc. The 1 knob quick adjust for EQ is great when you need a fast attitude change. SMALL and not TOO HEAVY!!

Sound Quality : 8
1 Passive PU Bass
1 Active PU Bass
Acoustic electric guitar
Using mainly as a recording amp.
Fairly verse in tone.
It's not a vintage Tube Bass Tone Dog, and was not ever intended to be. 8 for what is and what is supposed to do.

Reliability : No Opinion
I would jam but not gig with it.
Good so far 3 Months in action.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience but it has a standard warranty for a low end budget amp.

Overall Rating : 10
It was the very best thing I could get anywhere for the MONEY, most watts, largest speaker, most features and best sound.
One place gave me an offer or $125 for a 20 Watt 8inch no features piece of junk. I shop around for the best I can get for my money.
If you need a small practice amp and maybe very light gigging for temporary on a MICRO budget this is it!

Since this amp has gotten some bad reviews, and I think it is a fine amp, I am adding my two cents. For $140, I feel this is a great amp. It sounds as good as Crate and Fender amps costing $300 - $400. Sure, its not an Ampeg, or other top small combo., but hey, they cost much more, around $500 and up. I like the professional sound of the amp, full and powerful. One of the reviews that said this amp was bad, and complained that it shook the house at high volume. Now, there is a complaint. Personally, I like a bass amp that can shake the house if you want it to. My amp is free of buzz and rattles. My amp is 2002. The tone shaping knob delivers three or four distinct sounds just by turning a single knob. Has effects loops, head phone jack, line in, pre-amp out. It is also has a tape line in, with dual RCA connectors, which with the right adapter could be used as a CDROM player input for practicing along with your favorite song. The amp is fairly large for its price. I happen to like its sleek upright configuration. Also, at 35 pounds, it is solid, but I can still carry it up flights of stairs.

Sound Quality : 10
Its a good sounding amp. I generally go for one of two types of bass sounds. One sound is a warm acoustic bass sound, and the other is a tight low electic bass sound. This amp does a great job of producing both of these sounds. The EQ and Shaping knobs give one lots of control over the sound. The amp is quite when it has no imput. I use this as a practice amp. and am very impressed with the professional quality of the sound. It does not sound like a compromise- the way many practice amps do. It is in a whole different league from many of the $100 15 to 20 watt bass practice amps out there. For the price, its sound is awesome, and can be played out. It can handle small gigs, with an audiance to about 500 people.

Reliability : No Opinion
It has worked fine for me. As it is transistor rather than tube, it should not require much maintenance.

I think it is a great amp. I love it. It could be part of what I would consider the ultimate low cost bass rig. Get one of these for $140, and an OLP Earnie Ball Music Man clone bass for $230, and you would have a bass rig that could perform 90% as well as a $1500 rig for under $400. I own this bass rig, and it sounds as good as some of my high end gear. (ouch!) In absolute terms it a "9", but for the price, I have to give it a "10".

Seems the one I bought was made in 2002. Usual features. My intent was to have an amplifier I could use for both my bass and my guitar, mostly for practice at home. Especially interested in a clean sound in a guitar amp (was planning on using a V-Amp for the versatility aspect on a as-needed basis for the guitar). As detailed in previous reviews, this amp has all the basic features for a small bass amp; high- and low-mid equalizer settings sure are nice.

Sound Quality : 3
Using it with both a semi-hollow Washburn with two humbuckers, and with a Telecaster Custom clone (1H-1S). Mostly looking to use it for rythm work, sing-along, what not, mostly practice though; no intention of playing pro; I am starting anew after a roughly 30-year lay-off. Amp sounded fairly good for guitar work (as a clean-sound amp), very loud, deafening past about 6 on volume. Some rattle.

As a bass amp, was the pits. Moves a lot of air, but the speaker sounds overwhelmed quickly, rattles and buzzes early on. Tried plugging my bass (a vintage MIJ Vantage with the classical PJ pup combination) into the active input jack to somewhat avoid overloading the amp (which seemed to be the effect plugging the bass into the passive jack was having). Not much sense in going much above 5 lest I wanted the whole house to start rattling in unison.

Curious as I am, I took the speaker out to have a look at who the manufacturer was, and what sound-deadening material was used inside the enclosure (none, by the way); was branded "Behringer", but where I had a shock was reading "Power handling 50 watts" below, on the label!! In a 60-watt amp. Where the manual indicates the speaker power-handling as being 100 watts RMS!

Reliability : No Opinion
Judging how flimsy the knobs feel, and the generous use of plastic for the jacks, I would tend to think of it as relatively fragile components-wise. The cabinet looks fairly sturdy, but the "Tolex" looks paper-thin (although that seems to be the rule in that price-range).

Customer Support : No Opinion
Still waiting for an answer to an email which is probably hanging there, somwhere, in cyberspace.

Overall Rating : 3
Started playing in the 1960s. Had a roughly 30-year lay-off (with an interlude of a couple of months 20-some years ago); have resumed practicing on a daily basis a couple of months ago (after trading some of my old gear and getting some newer stuff).

Couldn't stand the poor sound and the low-grade speaker in that thing. Fortunately, my dealer took it back. I will probably unload my bass shortly, thus no longer having an excuse for buying a bass-combo, rather than a guitar-combo.

Fairly new amp, made this year i think (2003). It has passive & active inputs, 4 band active EQ, amp out, shape, preamp in, headphone out, line out, everything I need. I have only used it for home practice and some jam sessions/rehersals and it easily powerful enough for them.

Sound Quality : 9
I have a yamaha bass with P/J pickups which cost me about $500 (Australian). I play in a small band, a variety of styles inc. rock, funk, jazz, punk, the amp suits these styles fine. For rehersals I dont really have to turn the volume past 1/2 way (6 out of 12 I think it is) and at home much less, it is loud enough for both these purposes and has very little distortion at these levels. The shape function is my favorite. It lets you change the sound easily and along with the other features gives the amp the ability to produce a wide variety of sounds, this is helpful for when when you are playing more than one style of music.

Reliability : 10
I can depend on this amp, I need it for rehersals and never have to worry about it breaking down or whatever (which it has never done).

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't had to deal with the company yet. Comes with a 1 year warranty.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for about 2 years, I only have this amp and a little 16 watt practice amp (which is crap) If it was stolen I think i would but it again, its a pretty good amp for the price. I tried about 5 other amps that were between $300 and $450 and this was the best. For this price I wouldn't expect anymore features. The only thing wrong with it is the weight! Compared to other 60 watt combos it is pretty heavy.

made in 2003, versatile enough for church but not much else (its not very loud) passive/active inputs, 4 band active EQ, shape function, preamp in, amp out, headphone out, line out. i wish it had the ultra-bass function cause i think it would help make it alot warmer sounding. the power is ok for my church although it doesnt get very loud, it tends to "fart" when you turn it up past 4 (out of 12)

Sound Quality : 6
I use an ibanez GSR190 i got for 40$ from a friend, the bass is good, it has a P/J pickup combo. it suits my musical styles pretty well cause i play church stuff and that doesn't require much tonal versatility. its pretty punchy but theres just not enough bottom end in it. the treble is very warm sounding, and the mids are ok i guess. the only sound i like is bass 12, low mids 5, high mids 3, treble 5-9. it doesn't have a great slap tone, but it works for me in my bedroom. also, when i got it, the amp buzzed, not like white noise or whatever, but there was a really annoying rattle inside the amp, it was really bad.

Reliability : 5
realiabilty is decent to bad. its too darn heavy and i think the handle will break off pretty soon. the covers that go over the handle screw come off pretty easy. the passive input is broken( i let somebody borrow it and it came back broken). i really think the speaker is crap and will blow if pushed anywere near halfway.

Customer Support : 4
they are ok, the guy i talked to made a sarcastic joke that wasn't very nice or funny or whatever. back to that buzzing thing, it only buzzes on an A note and those around it. he asked if i just could not play those notes in my music. it kinda tickd me off. they said id have to send it to dallas to get it repaired and i didn't think it was worth it (cause i need it every sunday) so i just didn't send it.

Overall Rating : 6
ive been playin bass for about a year, but ive played guitar for 3 years. i also own a yamaha acoustic, a crate (peice of crap) electric guitar and amp, and an ibanez GSR190 bass. if it were lost id probalby not buy it again, id go with a carvin bass amp.
