This amp cost me $450 AUD and it kicks the arse of amps worth triple that. It's easily loud enough for practice and gigs, and it's fairly sturdy. It fits in the backseat or the boot of a car easily, no need to buy a van to cart it around. I wish it had handles on the sides though, carrying a 30 kilo amp up stairs by yourself sucks. I'm going to put handles on the sides myself, stuff the warranty! Also, control knobs seem a bit flimsy. They'll be fine if you don't wrench them round like an ape though.

Sound Quality : 8
Personally I discard definition in favour of a brown note rumble, and this amp delivers that in spades, especially when DI'd to a decent P.A. If you like midrange, you won't like it. It's not that versatile, but it provides a lot for $450. The compressor isn't the best, but it does all I need. The ultrabass goes out of key on the low strings, but seemed fine on the high strings, and that's the priority. Personally I think the distortion is rubbish, nowhere near as brutal and crunchy as I'd prefer (keep in mind that I like HEAPS of distortion though). Still, since the amp is so cheap you'll have heaps of money left over for a good meaty distortion pedal.

Reliability : 8
I've had no problems yet. I don't see it blowing up anytime soon. It might if you cranked it up full and played low for an hour, but I don't need to do that, and you probably won't either.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed to use it. I've heard many complaints about Behringer's customer service, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Still, why bother with the customer service, their stuff is so cheap that you can just buy another one!

Overall Rating : 8
When I told my band that I was buying a Behringer, they flew off the handle. But when I cranked it up and played it, they shut up like clams, and the guitarist (using 6 grand worth of Mesa) felt like a right twonk. You won't do better then this amp for value for money, unless somebody is selling high end Ampeg's for a grand.

2007 Model.
Amp is okay, kinda just one or two tones you can get out of it.
2 channels and they both work.
I wish it had shape channels that worked right. I don't use the ultrabass button because it don't work.
Use for practise and in churches.

Amp is by far not the best, but for the price and size... it's good. It does go pretty loud and hits a deep tone or a treble tone, but there's not much middle ground. When turned too loud it seems to not be able to find the right tune, makes it sound like the guitar is out of tune, but maybe that's cause i'm standing right in front of it. Overall I'll give it an 8. Heck, it only cost $280 shipped right to my door. Who else offers an amp for that price and this size??

Sound Quality : 8
Brice 6 string bass that sounds awesome.
Suits my style of music fine.
No noise worth mentioning.
Not much variety.

Don't really know, I mean so far I have been able to, but who knows. Anything can happen.

I been playin over 15 years. Not the best amp I ever played, but the last amp I had was 15 years old and sold for way more than I gave for this one and needed some work done to it. It was one heck of an amp though! This one is by far not comparable, but it was cheap. You probably can't go wrong with this amp for smaller gigs, church and or practice. Learning to play? Then this amp is definately for you.

brand new 2007 model. You can read about all the features online if you want one.

What features the amp does have seem to be okay. Heck, it's a cheap amp. Anything even coming close to comparing with it is just ridiculously priced. I have a six string and this amp carries all the sounds just fine. I use it at home, church and if we do anything else, it goes with me.

Sound Quality : 9
No major noise. It suits my needs. I wish I had a nice expensive amp though, because I know it would be much better, but again, for the money it's great. You won't have any problem with churches, small gigs and practice if you go with this amp. Just don't turn it up too loud. The amp is a 300w and the speaker is only 200 watts. I think someday I will replace the speaker with a real one, and maybe then the sound will be as good as any high end amp.

Very reliable.

I've been playing over 15 years. If it were lost or stolen I'd buy another just like it, or I'd buy a Behringer 450 or bigger. Either way it'd be a Behringer... can't afford anything else. I hat that the ultra bass can't seem to pick the right key, and doesn't always work. But it's really not needed for what I do, just wish it worked. I find it very stupid that Behringer either doesn't realize this problem, doesn't care, or don't know how to fix it. If it's not going to work, just don't put it on the amp. DUH! Why put a handle on the amp if you're not going to screw it down so it can be used??? Come on Behringer. (Don't get me wrong, I still like the amp and give it a 9, just pisses me off when ppl are stupid.)

This is a new (2006) 300W combo with two channels (clean/dist) and a 15-inch aluminium cone. It also features a 7 band EQ, a compressor and an UltraBass function for sub-octave.

Sound Quality : 3
Unfortunately this is a piece of crap. It's cheap to buy and it shows (or rather, hears).

I'm using an OLP MM2 and an old no-name junk Jazz bass and if I play a bit hard on the strings with gain and master set to 5 on the clean channel, the speaker overdrives/saturates very ugly.
If you listen through the DI it's nice and clean so the problem must be the amp or speaker.

On the dist channel there's a high frequency buzz that's seems related to the UltraBass function since, if you turn the UB on, the buzz and octave signal stops at the same time (when the input signal get too low).

The compressor does not lower transients but rather raises soft sounds
and the UltraBass has problems finding the right key, even on the D and G string.

When I got my amp and found out about the above I replaced it thinking I just got a bad one, but the replacement had the exact same flaws.

I've been playing bass occationally for 15 years, always borrowing bass amps whenever I needed. When I saw the ads for the BXL I thought ~300 Euro for a 300W/15" seemed great.

I guess if Behringer can fix these flaws in a later version it'll be an acceptable combo; the sound in it self is OK.

full of features and good sound after all. Disappointed with the fact that the 300W are not true, I brought it to my university electronics lab to measure the power and it barely outputs 180W. I wonder how Behringer could say it is a 300W bass amp... but know that company reputation I cannot be surprised anymore.

Sound Quality : 7
to be fair the amp sounds good, again just the fact that is so blatantly overpowered in the adverts put me off.

haven't had the amp long enough to evaluate. Probably I'll sell it soon, i don't like being cheated

it is a pity that behringer doesn't say the truth with the power, they would have won my confidence, right now they lost one more customer. Byebye behringer

I bought new 1 week ago from Music123.com. It has 2 channels, 1 clean and 1 with distortion. It has a very nice 7-band EQ that actually lights up. It also has a built in compressor, limiter, level, shape(which I always use), subharmonix processor(useless as far as I am concerned), headphone jack, line out jack(which i use for my tuner), FX send and return jacks, cd player jack, and a very nice 15 inch speaker. This is a 300 watt amp but I havent really had a chance to crank it up to see what it realy has yet. For the price this amp has tons of features. I do wish it had a tweeter though. The shape function only works when using the distortion channel. I don't like that because I like to use the shape fxn but don't really like to use distortion.

Sound Quality : 9
For the price I paid this amp is really very good. It has lots of bottom end. I havent cranked it up really high yet but from what I can tell it really has lots of power. The tone is very good. I play in church and this amp really suits my needs. With the shape fxn and the 7 band eq I have been able to get any sound outta this amp I wanted.

only had a week

Have been very helpful with any question I had.

For the price, power, tone, portability, and looks, this amp can't be beat. Nobody else puts out a 300 watt bass combo with tons of features and very good tone for anywhere near this price. I have had several other Behringer products and have always been very satisfied with them. If it were lost or stolen I would just order another one. Too gooda deal to pass up. I odered 2 of these amps. I play through both at the same time by slaving one of them. Very nice settup. I got enough power to play most any situation that I will encounter.
