Re-review of the review above, Behringer BXL900. After a full year of use, and with a newer, better bass (Fender CIJ P-bass, '54 model), results are much better, and more definite. The second channel, which features shaping, reduces the 'fat' in the signal and delivers a leaner, more well-defined sound at moderate volume. With the tone rolled on about halfway, the resulting growl is amazing. A great amp, again, at the more moderate level. Well worth the money.

The Behringer BXL900 is exactly what I needed in an amp, for the kind of music I play: blues, ethnic and traditional, pop standards. My trio has guitar, violin and piano, all amplified but no percussion (I double on bass).
90 watts, 12" speaker, black cloth-covered cabinet with tilt-back design, metal grill, 43 lbs.
Two channels. You can switch between them easily enough if you adjust sound levels in advance using a 'level' knob for channel two. Channel one is standard bass sound, round and full, and channel two has a 'shaping' capability.
A feature called 'subharmonics' purports to give you a note a full octave below the note you're playing, but it doesn't actually do that; it just sounds a little weird. If you're into effects like these, you'll be happy.
There is a CD line in and a headphone line in for silent practicing. The headphone line in can be used as a line out. (Why didn't they provide a line out in the first place?)
There are working EQ sliders on the front panel.

The amp isn't noisy on channel one, but is on channel two, and this increases as the volume is raised. It doesn't really like to be played above about half-volume. If you need more, you'll want to go for something bigger. (I like the size of this amp and its weight, among other factors.)
Behringer's 90 watts is a little weak. In a small or medium sized room, I have no trouble, but as I said, if you push it, you get noise, and the sound quality suffers.

The amp seems dependable, and has never broken down on me.

I might buy another Behringer if this one were stolen or otherwise out of commission--but I would probably go a step higher. And I would definitely -not- buy a Behringer (or any amp) through an online vendor. I played this amp in Rutland, VT, and bought it off the floor.
Last, price: The $179 price tag was just right. I realized I might have gotten more quality and dependable higher volume by spending another $200, but for what I paid, I am satisfied.
