The features on this amp are just fine....I got it at guitar center for 170 bucks on sale today, and I came on here to see what other people thought of it....these other clowns have no idea what they are talking about
This amp is intended to be a practice/low volume rehearsal amp...its not for playing out with!!!
Basically, its got a nice little octave knob, which gives you a subtle octave lower than the note your playing....and it has a distortion channel which I must say isnt that great.
The EQ qorks very well, (again, for an in amp feature on an inexpensive practice amp)
Also it has a nice little audio in feature that lets you plug in your bands cd and learn tracks easily

Sound Quality : 8
I use this with my modulus genesis 5 string, and it cleanly reproduces the sound my bass makes...which is all i want from it.
It is suprisingly loud for its size and for only being 90 watts.
My main amp is an Eden WT-800 with Eden 410 and 115 cabs....so obviously this amp cannot compete with one of the best amps on the market....but the reason I bought it is for practices, and at home practicing....it is light weight and easy to carry as opposed to the 200 pounds of gear I usually have to haul..
So, to all the clowns that wrote reviews on this....WHAT DID YOU EXPECT???
If you think this is going to be a 'gigging' amp then you are a moron.
This sounds really great compared to any practice size amp however, and its a great alternative to one of those weak little 15 watters...

If you want a good practice amp that actualy sounds like a real bass amp, instead of a pair of headphones on overdrive, I definitely suggest taking a look at this

Reliability : No Opinion
seems solid.
not for gigging, unless you suck hahaha

Customer Support : No Opinion
havent had to use it

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing for 15 years, I take my bass playing seriously, and I take my tone seriously...
This amp is not for gigging, but like I said, its probably the best combination of affordability, size, tone, and volume if you are looking for something to put in your living room and practice with...the cd in feature is nice, cause it lets you learn songs easily, and it will even work for rehearsals with mellower projects like jazz or r & b....dont expect it to work in your metal band, or blow the doors off a club...
But if you think that you can get a top of the line amp for under 200 bucks, you probably just started playing and dont need something like that anyway...

This amp was made 2006, brand new out of the box. This amp doesn't feature a lot of bells and whistles, and the features it has aren't very effective. Graphic eq, volume, master, ultabass.
I'm giving this a 1 because it didn't have a headphone out or line out!

Sound Quality : 5
I'm using a brand new Ibanez GSR200 with active electronics. I play 80's mondern and classic country, jazz/pop. No matter how I tweaked the eq and tone this amp sounded the same!
This amp didn't cut it when our band got louder. Although it didn't distort, the bottom fell off and was not present at higher volumes.

Reliability : 10
Here's where I have issue with other reviewers on Behringer stuff. There seems to be a tendancy for people to say, "I heard Behringer isn't very reliable, don't use this as a main piece of equipment." Baloney. I own a small mixer head, Behringer, Behringer speakers, and a Behringer powered monitor. They all work PERFECTLY.
There is other stuff here in town that's Behringer that's running fine. Why would musicians try to deface a product that's making equipment more affordable for kids and struggling musicians! Also, by the way, most people don't know it, but the same manufacturer that does Behringer stuff also does Mackie and other name brands!

Customer Support : 10
I've gotten a hold of Behringer on numerous times through email and if you're patient, they always get back to you in a day or two. Very helpful they even open an incident for you and you can log into Behringer and view a history of all your incidents. Also, they are beginning to use the policy that if your gear goes bad bring it to an authorized Behringer dealer and get a swap out for a new one!

Overall Rating : 5
I like Behringer stuff but someone was asleep at the wheel on this one. It should have had a line out, and at least twice the power, to punch through. By the way, the amp looked cool, and was very well built. I'm sorry it was underpowered and didn't have a line out, otherwise I'd sitll own it.

Made in 2006.
This amp sucks!
2 channels 1 Regular gain and 1 Distortion gain with a shape knob that just makes more noise and a level knob.
Shape channel without distortion like the BXL 1200 had.
I don't use it because I got rid of it. Total crap!
It was suppose to be 90 watts but I had to crank the master vol at 3/4 and the gain at 3/4 just to get a dynamic sound somewhat.

Sound Quality : 1
I've tried my Brice 5 string, my Peavey Millenium BXP, and my Ibanez SR400 through it. This amp suits no style of music it is bland and weak sounding and doesn't cut through.
The amp is noisy on channel 2.
Sound wise the amp is two dimentional lousy, and extra lousy.
I didn't put it at a louder volume than 3/4, I didn't want to fry it before I returned it to the store.
The distortion channel totally sucks! I generally don't think bass amps should have a distotion channel.

Reliability : 5
Didn't keep it long enough.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Don't waste your money! I had the BXL 1200 and that amp was great!
I had the BXL 300 and that was good. The new line of Behringer combos suck! Iv'e tried the BXL 450 and the 900, they stink!

recieved one for christmas 2006 my wife bought bxl900a from guitar center (thank god she bought insurance). while i didn't have much choice in the matter as it was a present, i gave it a shot and was hugely dissapointed in the end. first off, it lacks a lot of features, ie; line out. the features it has are a waste. bass boost noise shaping and "see what you play" are crap.

Sound Quality : 4
used it with a yamaha active pickup 4 string. suited my style well (dropped d). unit has a distortion setting, but again, like the other features - crap. sound quality was so/so. no real boom to it (12" aluminum cone)

Reliability : 2
DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS UNIT FOR A GIG. almost had to find this out the hard way. while when playing simple clean lines, the unit functions adiquately for volume (MUCH louder than its counterparts). I had to have the volume up to 10 (full blast) and right in front of my drummer and I just to hear it. Played with it at full blast (had to just to hear it) for about 45 minutes and the damn thing fried out. I got to use it a total of 3.5 hours all of which were at minimal volume and 45 minutes all out. HORRIBLE. the smell of fried electronics is still fresh in my mind. Returned it to guitar center the next day which happend to be the last day i could return it, and then only because my wife bought the extra coverage (bless her heart).

Customer Support : 3
must rate guitar center a huge dissapointment as well (are you shocked?). when my wife went to buy this heap for me for christmas with the best intentions and lack of knowledge, the mother F-ers took advantage of her saying "this is the best one" - "buy this one, buy this one". when i took it back, all anyone could say was "oh yea, you shouldn't have bought this, these things suck". goes to show you.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
overall, i must not recoment this unit to anyone. if you are looking for volume, save a couple more bucks and buy a stand alone head unit, then a cabinet. combo units arent that great for volume. if youre looking for quality, a similar priced unit from fender or hartke would provide that. ive been playing for 7 years now, and have had the pleasure of playing on several types of borrowed equipment and the only one i would recommend would be hartke (ha3500)

Behringer advertises that their "bass workstations" have lots of features. This is true but: There is no effects loop and much worse, there is no line out which means you have a "workstation" which you cannot use for recording - stupid, isn't it?
The 7 way "see-what-you-play" equalizer is nice to look at but not that effective. Two absolutely useless features in my opinion are: ultrabass which adds some kind of chorous to low notes and the "shape" function which makes your bass sound worse when turned left or right from center position.
Good features: Two channels, alu speaker cone and very very loud!

Sound Quality : 6
This is my gripe. Yes the BXL900A is very powerful and yes it got real punch and yes it can do a big fat low whoppin' bass sound. When I tried this amp in the shop I switched to a Roland Cube 100 (which costs 2/3 times more)for a comparison which I shouldn't have done. The result was that the Behringer sounds cheap. There is no way that this amp comes close to any of the more expensive combos in terms of sound - absolutely no way.

Reliability : No Opinion
dont know - but the salesman in the shop said that Behringer tend to have quality problems.

I've been playing for more than ten years and I decided to leave the BXL900A in the shop. At that time I chose the Warwick Blue Cab 60 instead (see my other review about this one).
The BXL900A has enough power for rehearsals with you band - you can turn it up VERY VERY LOUD as I mentioned before. At low volume it tends to sound like any cheap combo.
You have two channels and many control knobs to alter the sound. So you could buy a cheap bass guitar and blow it up big time using this behringer combo. Not a bad thing.
My main instrument is an Ibanez EDC-700 which has it's own heart & soul. So I prefer the blue cab 60 because it leaves "my sound" exacly as it is.
The difference between BXL900A and blue cab 60 is: The blue cab can only do ONE sound - in light-years-away better quality.
