Bill @ Atlanta Discount Music hooked me up. Didn't have what I needed in stock. He got Jim Bergantino to box one up and ship one out to me within an hour. As far as I can tell, Jim B. is sure to accomodate and any of his dealers would do the same. While shopping around, all his dealers mentioned talking to Jim on almost a daily basis.

These cabs are built like tanks. They are about 1/3 the size of anything comparable and about 1/3 the weight. Now, they still aren't as light as a Neo speaker... but i have had terrible experiences with Neo's losing their magnetism. Anyway, the cabs (HT112 and HT122S) both fit in the front seat of my two door Saturn.
Bergantino's can eat up some juice. From most of what I have read, they require a sufficient amount of wattage to really hear what these bad boys can do. I am currently using a Mesa Boogie Walkabout (300 watts). The cabs sound amazing at any volmue level. As I open up my Boogie, these cabs really come to life. I am already looking for a bigger amp.
The Bergs are the most articulate and responsive... the smoothest and truly even sounding cabs I have ever played. I have owned Trace, SWR, Ampeg, Aguilar, Mesa, Hartke, Eden... the Bergs are hands down the killa'. The average ear probably wouldn't hear the difference. But these cabs are articulate throughout all frequencies.
In the last week, some of the cats that I respect the most have all commented at how as one guy put it, "It doesn't even sound like your using an amp." Uncolored and untextured bass tone. So this is what my Jbass should sound like!
Finally, last night one of the bands I play with, I run sound for too. Last night, we played an outdoor gig on the island and we ran dual 18 subs on each side. During the second set, I asked the singer to double up on bass while I got a quick listen. As I stepped off stage, I muted the bass signal on the mixer. (Just wanted to see) I was amazed at how the Bergs cut through. Seriously. It is really freaky how what I heard on stage was what I heard 30 feet into the crowd.
Flat out, get a BERG!

how many features does a speaker cabinet need?
the HT-112 has two 1/4" and two speakon connectors, which makes connecting multiple speakers considerably easier. the large plastic stacking corners are very protective of the cabinet and also allow making a mini-stack a very easy prospect. the chrome grille looks great.

i've had my HT-112 for about four months and have had the opportunity to play it in several practices and a couple gigs.
the HT-112 is the most focussed sounding cabinet i've ever used. i was hooked the first time i played one in a store, and i had to wait over a year to buy one for myself. it is very clean and uncolored, though it is more lively and open sounding than the "loud studio monitor" paradigm used by other "hi-fi" bass cabinet manufacturers. the sound is very balanced and full.
this cabinet doesn't have the true low frequency extension of a well-designed sub or a three-way cabinet. it's never low end that you feel, but it still sounds quite thick when you dial in the bass. for some that is an issue, but i'd gladly trade depth for the focus and clarity of this cabinet. no other cabinet cuts through like the HT-112. the mids are the most notable part of the sound. they're so clean, coherent, and smooth. the highs are very sweet, though i find i keep the attenuator at -2dB or -3dB.
this cabinet has to be heard to be truly appreciated. i didn't get it until i heard it myself, and now i'm a convert.

i have used this cabinet with both an 1100W amp and a 2000W amp and it has never had a single issue or made a single bad sound. that's pretty impressive for a speaker rated at 300Wrms. the large plastic stacking corners will keep the box protected. i also like how the crossover/input cup is recessed to protect the attenuator.
i haven't taken the box apart to evaluate the internal construction, but with everything else i've experienced (see my comments on customer support), i have no doubts this is one seriously tough little cabinet. i bought my HT-112 with the padded cover, which really helps with the little dings you might get at load-in and load-out, with a bunch of other gear stacked on and around it.

like others have said, he goes well out of his way to make sure his customers have the knowledge they need to get the most out of his products.
i sent an email to Jim Bergantino and he responded with his phone number the same day. we talked for almost an hour about various audio concepts; he was very knowledgable, engaging, honest, and friendly. i didn't even have a question -- i just wanted to thank him for making a great cabinet and get his take on a couple ideas.

i was lucky to find one used -- most people are hooked once they try it. i have found the sound i want, and it's very light and portable, too. i have considered buying an EX-112 to make a stack, but i have yet to play a gig or practice where i wasn't loud enough. i know it's pretty expensive for its size, but it's so well worth the money, i can't believe i ever considered buying anything else. for the size, weight, loudness, and tone, i can't imagine a single cabinet being anywhere close, let alone better.

This is the EX-112. Single 12 in a ported, carpeted cab.
Very small, lightweight. Tough mesh steel grill. two neutrik and two 1/4" inputs. Nicely finished. Quality.

Using the cab with my reliable G&K 200RB to amplify my Acoustic upright, Azola Bugbass and Ibanez 6-string electric.
The cab is much more focused sounding that anything I've had experience with. The cab "likes to be pushed"...in other
words, I can get as much stage volume from the little berg as I could with larger 15" loaded cabs...including a ported JBL E-140 that I used for years.

This Bergantino cabinet was made in 2001. There is one 12 inch speaker and an aluminum bullet tweeter. It has 2 1/4 inch jacks and 2 neutric jacks. There is an adjustable pad for the crossover. At 300 Watts, it covers what I need.

I've spoken to Jim Bergantino, and he explained some design features. I haven't needed support, but Jim has let me know that I'm welcome to ask questions. He's an engineer and can explain the physics behind his design, but he's also a friendly guy who makes you feel comfortable.

No question that the cabinet is expensive, but I'm glad I saved up for it. Having a clear focused cab has made a world of difference in my sound. Having a 1x12 cab to carry has made my workload much lighter and my back is grateful. Great product !!
