2005 butt kicker 2 ..... if you use IEM or want to shake the stage, this is for you

no good place to write a review....what catagory do you put this in.... but i have had excellent luck...

hope to inspire others who have used either the kicker 2 or the concert to speak up....

Sound Quality : 10
i own 47 different guitars and basses, but my main squeeze is my Spector... 35 in scale... 5 string... into a senheiser wireless system.. ( custom design by ME....) i am a radio / tv chief engineer in the real world.....

i use a korg tone works ( that i paid 25 for at guitar center ).. when i use the IEM / Butt kicker set up...

OF COURSE THE BUTT KICKER DOES NOT MAKE SOUND.... it MOVES ...in my case a " 3/4 plywood thing " i stand on.....

i use a weston pro IEM, a wireless comteck IFB unit .. a seperate 31 band EQ for the IFB and another 31 band for the BUTT KICKER... which is powereed by an ART SL-2... the IEM has most of the very low end dialed out... the Kicker has only LOW END 15 to 200 cycles....

Reliability : 10
never had an issue...

on rare occasion, i use my Carvin R-1000 ( i have 2 x 18 with a 8 x 10 configuration well ok .... 2 total 4 x 10 cabs... and 2 total 1 x 18 cabs... )....

but for most gigs, the IEM/Kicker does the job.... and i can get my vocals dialed in.... i have a small mixer that allows me to control my axe and my voc.... and the overall mix in the IEM...... so i can get " more me " in my mix and not effect the others....

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had a problem....

but ( maybe it is butt in this case ) i understand they are good to work with...

Overall Rating : 10
been playing 40 years.... first band at 12 ( ok, so.... hope you still play in a rock band at 52 .... careful what you say... you are not getting any younger either..... )

i wrote an early review on the carvin r-1000 that was not very flattering ....( after the 2 nd trip back to the factory... it has been rock solid.... and now i never use it anymore ) also play electric guitar and acoustic electric... and lead and back-up vocals........and a roland midi synth thru a leslie...( now that needs a review !!! )

i have tried simple weston ear plugs ( muscian type..work well...and i use them if i use the carvin... or just sit in on guitar ) ....and the shure e-2 and e-4.... but... for the money ( like 500 ... the weston is far better....)

if my butt-tox kicking device were stolen tomorrow, i would hunt down the SOB and beat him with it... and probabbly buy the " concert " series just to compare.... either one is killer if you are a bass player.....even if you are using an amp by the way....you can still " feel" the power if you use the kicker.... and.... you can hook it up to the car frame.... or the sofa when you are not gig'in....
