The Blue Cab is a 2 x 10" bass cabinet customized built by CMW amps. It's built on the base of two ten inch Ampeg Pro-speakers which I delivered myself. I asked CMW Amps to design a great cabinet to complete my set-up. My set-up is Ampeg SVT Classic head (2002) through a Ampeg 4x10 (HLF) cabinet. The bass I often play through it is '82 Squier Precision (JV-series).
The reason I wanted to get the cabinet was to get better monitoring on stage which I, at that moment was really missing. So together with Chris we talked through what the cabinet should be like. I told him my expectations and made the plan. It really became what I was looking for and better. The cabinet is more versatile than i expect it to be. Great job!

Sound Quality : 9
The Blue Cab is really tight without losing balls. It has an amazing punch. The Cab really confronts you with your instrument and your amp. I was really shocked how dull my 4x10 Ampeg cabinet actually sounds next to the Blue Cab. On the other hand I wouldn't use my Blue Cab alone at bigger venues. There for it is too tight for me. I like a warm (and a bit wobly) low end. But this is very personal because I'm just not a real slick bass player.
Together with the 4x10 cabinet it's a real BOMB! You really get an amazing pressure and mixes to great round tone.

Reliability : 9
The Blue Cab is made as tank. I do aprox. 50 a year and rehearse two times a weak at least and I also use the Cab in the studio. So given the fact I'm now using it for two years and it never let me down or made me feel insecure, I would say it's really reliable. This is very important for me. The only thing that I would have to be critical about is the paintwork. Alltough it's done very wel, the cab shows some rock 'n roll spots. Chris of CMW Amps offered me a million times to refinish it but since I actually don't care if it looks "cool" I still haven't accept the proposal. It just has to sound great and that's what is does.

Customer Support : 10
Chris of CMW Amps is what every musician dreams of. I have never met anyone who's so dedicated and genuine about his work. What makes him so special is that he listens to what you as a musician want. He can really make abstract talks about sound into something practical which you can touch.
When he was building the Cab he always kept me informed on the progress it's building. If I sometimes have technical question about my Blue Cab, SVT or what so ever you can always reach him and he'll help you out. I learned a lot through him about sound. Something which you cannot express in money. A very unique company probably because of it's founder.

Overall Rating : 10
What's better to have you're customized gear? Stuff that works as you want it to work. This cabinet is really amazing. Aside from the great monitoring task it delivers during live shows, it also has become the studio technicians number one choice if they want to capture my deep rocking bass sound. Even the guitarist of my band to record with it because it's deep, tight and loud.
