When i first bought this amp 12 months ago, i knew nothing about bass guitars or amps, i think this was shipped from the factory in dec 06.
for a practice amp i think its fine but recently i've started jamming with other guitarists and to be honest its just not quite loud enough to compete with the bigger amps without pushing it beyond its limits
It has an active 3 band eq but for the life of me i have no idea how to use it ,i'm a turn it on and play kind of guy.
Theres quite a lot of features really for such a small amp, headphone socket, audio input socket(very handy)deep switch, input limiting, mid shift and so on plus it had the 10in speaker as apposed to the 8in ones usually found in practice amps
Sound Quality

I use a mex fender precision through this amp and im quite impressed with the sound quality, i play any style of music really but lately i've been playing Neil Young,Hendrix,The Kinks etc and it sounds peachy.
This amp is quiet as a mouse when i turn it on ( seriously) theres no hums, crackles or anything at all, i never have it past 12oclock anyway so i cant comment on distortion levels at high volume as i dont wanna blow it up (its the only amp i've got ).
When i tried it in the shop, i also tried a stagg 60w bass combo as well and this amp sounded so much better which is why i opted for this and not the bigger stagg combo.
I dont think a bass player just starting out would be embarresed to take this to a jamming session as its such a nice little amp.
Reliability
:
10
Now i've read the other reveiws on the kickstart 25 bass combo and i honestly dont know why the other guys had so much trouble with their amps because i've used my 30w amp for the last 12 months without a single problem at all, its performed wonderfully on a regular basis and a few jamming sessions and still sounds as good now as the day i bought it.
I'm so impressed by the reliability of it im gonna stick with carlsbro amps for the forseeable future and as we speak i'm saving up for a 125w bass bomber which will suit my needs even better than this little beauty but i will probably keep the 30w just for the house as i honestly cant see anything going wrong with it for a while yet.
Customer Support
:
No Opinion
I got a 12 month warranty with mine but have never had to contact carlsbro once in all that time, my warranty has now run out but i think the amps gonna be fine for a while yet.

overall i love this little amp with a passion but if it got knicked i would buy a bigger amp because its served its purpose well and got me started on the road to learning the bass but i wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a new bass player as i love it.
i dont hate anything about this amp its done what it was made to do and some more besides, i 've knocked out more than enough decent riffs on it over the last few months and i suspect i'm gonna knock out a lot more riffs on it for a while longer.
