Carvin BR15 Combo Amp

Carvin has a reputation for quality and this unit keeps that rep!! I have used a Peavey tko75 for over 20 years and I got this and it blows it away!! I bought this unit new and directly from Carvin in California. It has a 5-band grafic eq, a compressor which you can change what frequency it clips, a contour feature, and a built in DI send. It sends 120 watts to 1 speaker or 100 watts to 2 speakers at 4ohms. The back panel has a effects loop send and return, 2 speaker sends (1/4 inch on all), a spot for there FS-22 footswith which came with the amp to control the effects loop or to mute the amp. All I can say this is a great amp for the price ($350). Has a 15" built in speaker and also a tweeter that has a volume control to use it for highs or not. This solid state unit is lighter than my Peavey unit which is great, I wont have to struggle with carrying it!! About 50 lbs. If you want quality and great sound I would really suggest this unit if you dont have a lot of money to burn!!

I use 3 different guitars with this unit. I have an active pickup Scheckter 5 string, a passive pickup Johnson 5 string, and a homemade 4 string bass. I play Hard and Classic rock with my band and it sounds great. I also use a Boss Super Chorus and a Digitech BP80 footpedal and they are great sounding through this amp even being turned up loud. Cant get it past 5 on the master volume since its so loud!

Well I have only had this unit for about a week and will play out at a couple gigs within the next few weeks so I will be able to add another review after that about reliability.

Carvin has a great Customer Support and this amp comes with 3 year warranty and will fix any problems!!

I have been playing for over 25 years now and if this unit is lost or stolen I would buy another one in a heart beat!! My Peavey tko75 unit has served me very well and I cant complain at all. I hope this unit serves me just as well!
